Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Joe's Broken Legs

Chapter 134: Joe's Broken Legs

With Meg's cooperation, Chris easily misled Lois, preventing her from noticing his whereabouts during this period.

But Peter, that guy, clearly forgot Chris's formidable nature. He stroked his chin, pondering for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise, "Chris, what Brian said isn't the same as what you told me!"

"Cough, cough, cough!" Brian, who was drinking water, seemed to choke and began coughing violently.

Chris looked at Brian and said expressionlessly, "Oh, really? What did Brian say?"

Seeing Chris ask, Peter immediately stood up excitedly, then was about to start imitating Brian's way of speaking.

"Ahem, ahem..." Peter lightly coughed twice, his demeanor instantly changing. Aside from his appearance, which couldn't be linked to Brian, his tone of voice and mannerisms were entirely Brian's.

"Brian said..."

WHAM! — Just as Peter was about to speak, Brian pounced, tackling the fat man, then immediately delivered a left hook.

Peter let out a stupid cry, looking at Brian with disbelief, "Owww, owww, owww~ Why did you hit me?"

"Screw you!" Brian cursed, with no intention of explaining.

This damn fat man had no idea how dangerous his son was. If Chris found out he was casually bad-mouthing him, he might end up like his counterparts in some alternate dimension.

Turning into a fancy dog meat stew.

Thinking he was almost screwed over by Peter, Brian broke out in a cold sweat, and his punches became heavier and heavier.

Just then, Lois came out of the kitchen with food and, seeing Brian beating Peter, immediately exclaimed, "Oh my God! What are you doing?"

Lois quickly put down the serving dishes and stepped forward to pull Brian away.

"Lois, my Lois!" Peter escaped from Brian's fists and feet, hugging Lois and crying dramatically.

His hoarse and desperate performance almost made people feel sympathy.

Fortunately, everyone in the Griffin family was well-seasoned and used to this, still eating and drinking as if nothing was happening.

"Let go of me, Peter," Lois said with a helpless expression.

She actually didn't want to deal with Peter, but it was family dinner time.

Peter getting beaten at this moment not only embarrassed the family but also set a bad example for Stewie.

So Lois kicked Peter away, then said to Brian in a low, serious voice, "I don't know how this idiot provoked you, but I won't allow roughhousing during dinner, or I'll make you regret it."

"Gulp!" Brian swallowed hard, then promised, "Yes, ma'am!"

After dealing with the family dispute, Lois was just about to introduce the amazing meal she'd made when she heard a knock on their front door.

"Sigh~" Lois put down the hand that was about to lift the lid and walked helplessly toward the door.

Passing Peter, Lois saw him still lying on the ground with his hands behind his back, and immediately kicked him in the butt again.

"Get up! Don't make me look bad in front of company!"

Peter's hands, which were behind his back, raised to make an OK gesture, and he mumbled, "Okay, Lois."

Then Peter propped himself up with one hand, and Lois also came to the front door and opened it.

"Bonnie! What brings you by at this hour?"

Lois opened the door and saw the person knocking was Bonnie.

"Lois!" Bonnie's emotions were a bit frazzled, and then a thick, strong arm wrapped around Bonnie from behind her.

"Let me handle this, Bonnie."

Bonnie's body went limp, almost collapsing to the ground, but fortunately the arm holding her was extremely strong, easily steadying her.

Then Lois saw the person behind Bonnie clearly.

"Joe! How did your legs get broken again?" As soon as the words left her mouth, Lois realized she'd spoken wrong and quickly covered her mouth.

Fortunately, Joe, with his broken legs, wasn't as hot-headed as when he was healthy. He waved his hand dismissively and said, "Don't mention the past. I heard Chris is back, right?"

Although Joe didn't mind, Lois herself was mortified. She ran into the house as if fleeing, and Peter, who'd just propped himself up halfway, got stepped on by her.

"Ugh, I gotta start over again."

Ignoring Peter's meaningless mumbling, Lois said to Chris, "Joe needs to see you. You... watch your tone."

Listening to Lois's instructions, Chris nodded casually.

He'd heard it clearly just now; it was just Joe's legs being broken again, no big deal.

Chris was just a little curious about why Joe's legs were broken this time.

Chris went outside, where Joe was comforting Bonnie.

"It's okay, Chris will definitely find a way."

Looking at such a gentle Joe, Chris couldn't help but wonder if he had two personalities.

One was the normal, wheelchair-bound Joe, and the other was the healthy, aggressive Joe.

However, no matter how Chris examined Joe's mental state, he could only find a single consciousness.

It seemed this extremely ridiculous dynamic might be similar to Peter's beast mode, both being underlying code embedded in the world's rules.

"Joe, what's going on? Do you need my help with something?" Chris stepped forward, interrupting Joe who was comforting Bonnie, and directly asked about his purpose.

Seeing Chris approach, Bonnie held back her tears and stood quietly beside Joe.

"Well..." Joe looked at Chris awkwardly, hesitant to say how his legs were broken.

However, Chris had already guessed from his frequent glances at Peter that this situation must be related to Peter.

Chris turned to look at the ridiculous Peter, who'd propped up his upper body only to slump back down due to wrist pain, then looked at Joe, who didn't know where to begin.

"Speak up, don't worry about my relationship with Peter. If he really did something wrong, I can certainly deliver justice even against my own family!"

Chris righteously assured Joe, then put on an attentive look, waiting for Joe to explain the whole story.

However, Joe opened his mouth several times but still didn't speak.

It wasn't until Bonnie nudged him that Joe finally said, "Chris, don't ask. I can't put you in a tough spot. I only came here this time to ask if you have a way to heal my legs. I don't care about anything else."

Seeing he couldn't get the reason from Joe, Chris wasn't going to force him.

He stepped forward and examined Joe's legs, only then realizing both legs were completely destroyed.

All the bones below the femur were completely shattered, most of the tendons wrapping the bones were twisted and broken, and the remaining ones were tangled with the shattered bones.

The leg muscles had become a pile of useless meat. Chris guessed that if Joe hadn't been drinking massive amounts of dragon blood energy drink for recovery, he probably would've already had an amputation.

However, even with this extent of injury, Chris still assured him, "It's nothing—I have a way to heal this minor injury."
