"You saved my life. How can I let you go without rewarding you? Get in." Leo reached a hand out toward Kaelus. "From now on, you'll be working for me. I'm hiring you as my bodyguard."
"What?" Kaelus pretended to be shocked, even though this was exactly what he wanted.
"You saved my life, so you are already more than qualified," Leo said, carefully hiding the fact that he was already suspicious of Kaelus's identity.
Even though Kaelus acted shocked, he grabbed Leo's hand and was pulled inside Timmy's ship.
It was the start of a new brotherhood where one person wanted to become the main protagonist, the wealthy, face-slapping hero of the story, while the other simply wanted to use the so-called protagonist who thought he was good at acting.
Both of them had something to gain from this arrangement, but neither was aware of the end destination of this partnership, nor the significance it would hold in the grand scheme of things to come.
