"The real Rossi is dead, Donna. Five years ago. Multi-organ failure in a Zurich clinic."
I didn't flinch. I didn't drop the phone or catch my breath. I stood in front of the hallway mirror, adjusted a loose strand of hair, and looked at my own eyes.
"Then whoever is in my house," I whispered, my voice barely a thread of sound, "is already dead."
"I'm calling the security team," Mason said, his typing frantic on the other end. "I'll have the guards at the door in twenty seconds."
"No. Stand down, Mason."
"Donna…."
I cut him off. "She's a professional. She has an exit strategy and probably a backup. If you swarm the room now, we lose the lead on who sent her. I want to see how far she thinks she's winning before I close the cage. No moves until I say."
I hung up before he could argue.
I walked toward the room, my steps silent on the carpet. I didn't head for Kendella first. I went to Jae-hyun's room.
