The weight of Kieran's arm across my waist usually pulled me into a deep sleep. Not tonight.
When the knock came at the door, I was already sitting up.
"Enter," I said, my voice low so I wouldn't wake Kieran.
It was Sterling. He didn't step into the room. He just waited at the threshold.
"Donna," he said. "We have a situation in the medical wing."
I grabbed my robe, tied it tight, and stepped into the hall. "What kind of situation, Sterling? If Jae-Hyun is having a relapse, call the doctors."
"It's not a relapse," Sterling said. He held up a tablet, his thumb hovering over the security logs. "I went back to check the entry manifests. When the nurse—Rossi—arrived at the secondary gate, her card didn't just 'glitch.' It was rejected. The system flagged her as an unregistered entity."
I stopped walking. "And she was let in anyway?"
