"Man! Hiking is exhausting." I said panting .it was the last year of the school.we did not know if we would meet again ever.So I suggested at trip in the group chat and surprisingly everyone was on board even Tom, who i rarely see outside school,agreed to go we decided on Mt. scalar. Mt. scalar was a popular hiking spot but there were not a lot of people hiking there during the winter due to the extreme cold of the mountains.
we started our Hike around 2:00 p.m. we planned that we were going to start at 11:00 a.m. but no one was actually ready so we had to delay it for a while.
Mt. Scalar was not meant for small height and average soil of Hike takes around 2 days and when you have a group of people that you have to take care of when I came it was safe to say it was going to be a while.
"Should we set up tents now? It's like 9:00 p.m." asked Tom in a frustrated way.
"Just say you want to read light novels or whatever" taunted may.
"Hey look!A cabin! Maybe we can ask them to setup the camp within their border."I said pointing towards the cabin."we'd probably get attacked by some animal if we don't."
"There are no animals, atleast hostile ,that are here",said jerry.
"It's still probably a good idea to go to the cabin",said natasha."we are out of water"
"How?I put enough water for 2 days.".I said,confused.
We were out of water?How? Last time i checked,we had only gone through about 30 percent of the water.Could it have evaporated?No even if it was summer,it wouldn't evaporate just like that.where did the water go.More importantly,how did Natasha not feel the weight of the water?She was carrying all the water for the group. How could she not have noticed all the weight of water go away.
We had no option but to go to the cabin.I didn't want to go as the aura surrounding the place felt too...broken?I could not describe the aura surrounding it easily. It was a mix of of welcoming,liminal and suffocating.
"Do you really think anyone lives there?"May questioned.It was not hard to see why. The cabin was falling apart.Its windows were broken,there was moss all over the place and the trees there were dead as they could be in such a place.
"It's better to check just in case."I said.

May knocked on the cabin.Soon after,a man about 50,with black hair wearing a coat and a hat, holding a cane opened the door.
"Oh! What might bring you kids here?", said the man.He was very welcoming."why don't you come inside?"
Why is he inviting us to his house?We just got here.There was something fishy going on here but I couldnt pin point it.He was welcoming,yes,but he gave off a very weird vibe.Also his attire was very weird.why would someone wear a full formal suit in the middle of the night.The man was extremely puzzling and felt very off.Well it didn't matter to me at the time as i was just there for water and after we get the water,i never met him.
Besides from me and Tom,no one questioned him.
We decided to accept this man's request and we came in his house.He made us sit on the sofa and said he would be back in a while.Everyone was sitting and chatting around in the living room but I felt something was very wrong with this place.I suggested we leave the place but everyone disagreed and continued talking.
I decided to put my ear phones as I decided listening to some music will calm me down.
I heard a faint buzz but thought nothing of it. It was probably just my earphones malfunctioning.I debated on buying a new one but put it off because I didn't know which one to choose.
After a few minutes later I heard that faint buzz,everyone started to pass out.I panicked.What was going on?Is the buzz connected with this?Why did everyone pass out suddenly?
I saw the old man come out of the other room.
"Old man! They pass out!Help me!"
The old man began to creep closer.His aura was terrifying this time.
