Chapter 12 - Dragmere Castle IIII

Upon leaving Lenore and Corbin, Lucius ran into the grand keep of Dragmere, many imperials were stationed as guards within but were no match for his superior speed. He slashed and stabbed any guards who stood in way, their defenses were quite light, apparently dedicating their numbers to the battle outside. Lucius stalked the corridors of the keep, looking for any indication of a command room of any sort. Finally, after his long pursuit he located an angry and rather pompous looking man wearing a decorated imperial robe. He was barking orders to men in front of him, clutching his longspear and shortspear. He knocked on the door and let himself into the supposed command room. His state was rather dire as he was head to toe in blood, his weapons were no exception. The ice spear was stained red by the amount of hearts it had pierced, his state obviously shocked the men inside. The Heaven's Hand emblem was stained red so made it hard for the imperials to decipher which side he was fighting for, though they still acted wary at his presence.

"Hello, are you the commander of his lovely castle?" asked Lucius, putting on a playful demeanor for the poor imperials.

"Identify yourself, any soldier of mine would know who I am." the pompous man spat, apparently not playing along with Lucius' little game. He unstrapped a fiery crimson book from his hip and pointed it at Lucius. He deduced that the man in front of him was either a fire or magma mage, depending on his strength this fight could go either way. Luckily for him he didn't sense any overwhelming power coming from the man though he guessed he was around archmage class, getting close to calamity.

"Are you this extremely powerful mage that one of the scouts reported?"asked Lucius rather plainly not expecting much from the chubby man, he was simply playing with his food.

"You heard me boy identify yourself before I reduce you to nothing. As your scouts have reported, my might is extramental." shouted the pompous man, he couldn't help but be arrogant apparently. Lucius took a few steps forward, letting the plainly dressed imperials leave the room, he would not kill non combatants only soldiers. This was one of the rules he imposed on himself.

"I believe it is customary for people of lower status to state their names first. Good sir." stated Lucius. Enjoying the sight of the chubby man's eyebrow twitching.

"Fine, I suppose I'll humour you before I kill you. I am Colonel Michael Fireguarde, commander of Dragmere Castle and Archmage of the Sunkissed Empire. Your turn." spat Michael Fireguarde, his aversion was plain to see now, he wore a rather sour expression in the face of Lucius.

"Very well, I am the Third Prince of the Moonlight Kingdom, Lucius von Moonlight, one of the Heaven's Three."said Lucius, grinning at the man. Michael Fireguarde's eyes widened at the news then an ugly smile appeared on his face.

"I've heard the tales of the Heaven's Hand, it will be my honor to kill a prince of the Moonlight Kingdom and one of the Heaven's Three."screamed Michael while a sphere of magma manifested into both of his hands, the spheres launched at Lucius' direction. They began to split into multiple separate spheres pelting the surrounding walls with holes causing them to crumble under their own weight.

Unfortunately for Michael the spheres were too slow to catch the young prince, he quickly dodged the spheres and ended up behind Michael though he did not attack. Choosing to further antagonize the colonel, the colonel quickly turned around to face Lucius.

"I've got you now little rat, Magma Whip!" barked the pompous man, a belt of magma came charging at the prince. The surrounding walls were completely disintegrated under the extreme temperatures letting the darkness of the perpetual night creep into the building. Lucius quickly cast a moonstone wall to come to his aid, blocking the ferocious liquid. Although he was unharmed his ice spear was currently melting under the rising temperature, he discarded it choosing to focus on using the short spear gripping it with both hands.

"Lunar Night!" shouted Lucius, casting his favourite spell. A ice white moon reared its head out of the perpetual night casting its light on the round man in front of him. Lucius lowered the moonstone wall and burst forward towards the man whose feet were currently frozen by the lunar light. Lucius slightly overshot his movement causing him to appear just behind the man, he flipped his short spear around and drove straight into the man's gut.

"Wait, don't-?!" shouted Michael but his pleas fell on deaf eyes, he fell to his knees clutching the hole in his belly. Trying to desperately save himself.

"Are you really going to give up this easily? Disappointing." asked Lucius while tutting his tongue and wearing a cold detached expression at the greedy imperial's dismay.

"How can someone like you be royalty -" blurted Michael, choosing his last words. Lucius' spear whistled as it came crashing down on the man's neck, cleaving a perfectly straight line into the man. The moonlight illuminated the man's bloody state, Lucius looked out the window of the command room seeing the battle coming to an end. His moonlight was currently acting as a self defensive measure for all of Heaven's Hand, freezing many enemy soldiers in place. The end of the hard fought battle turned into more of a slaughter of imperials. The moon was currently sapping all of his mana quickly, if it kept the spell up it would endanger his life so he chose to cancel the spell. The lunar moon retreated back into the night sky, leaving no trace of its existence plunging the castle back into darkness.

On the east side of the castle, Felix von Moonblade and his unit are fighting valiantly, cutting though hordes of imperials when a lunar moon appears in the sky. Freezing all combatants in its wake, horror spread though the imperials realizing their helpless states. Felix quickly ordered his men to take advantage of the situation, they began to slash and hack the defenseless ice sculptures to bits. The spell which was affecting the soldiers only lasted a few minutes but it still gave Felix's unit the leg up they needed. The tide quickly turned in their favour, the imperial numbers were thinning. No longer being replenished.

Like Lucius and Lenore, Felix had a spell book with a golden shine, giving it the look of some sort of holy artifact. He brought the book to his center, chanting while moving it.

"Divine Light!" shouted Felix, his words spread to his men and the imperials causing them to turn his way. Columns of crystal white light came down from the sky, piercing the heads of many imperials. The light split into many smaller beams seeking out any remaining imperials and riddling them with holes, the wounds cauterized instantly so not a single drop of blood was spilt. The light soon dissipated, leaving no trace of the spell's lethality. Felix commanded his troops to head to the main keep, the lunar moon's origin point.
