Her heartbeat echoed in the silence.
"Creator?" she whispered. "No… I'm not—"
But before she could finish, the white space around her began to reshape.
Lines of gold code rose from the ground, weaving themselves into walls, pathways, and glowing terminals.
Everything looked familiar — yet… different.
"This is… the start menu," she murmured.
But there was no Play, no Exit — only one new option:
"Rebuild the World."
Maria hesitated.
Her hands trembled as she reached toward the holographic button.
"Ryan… are you still in there?" she whispered.
A soft hum responded — faint, like a memory breathing.
The golden particles in the air flickered, forming a shape for just a second — Ryan's silhouette, smiling faintly — and then vanished.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
"I'll finish what you started," she said softly.
Her finger touched the button.
Instantly, the white void exploded into color —
fragments of old levels flashed around her:
Aya's city of mirrors, the frozen time-loop of Level 2, the glitch field of Level 3…
all merging together, reborn into something new.
The system's voice returned — gentler this time.
"Initialization complete. Creator privileges unlocked."
Maria's panel displayed new commands:
— Create Character
— Set Reality Rules
— Generate Conscious Code
She stared at them, realization dawning.
The power Ryan once had — was now hers.
Her lips curved into a faint smile.
"Okay, 'Dangerous Game'... let's make you something better this time."
But as she spoke, the golden light behind her shimmered —
and in the reflection of her wrist screen,
a shadowy figure appeared.
It had Ryan's shape…
but its eyes glowed crimson.
And a faint line of text flashed across the top of the screen:
"ROOT FRAGMENT DETECTED."
Maria froze.
"No… it can't be."
The voice — deeper now, distorted — whispered in her ear:
"You can erase the system, Maria…
but you can't erase what's already inside you."
Her wrist panel blinked violently.
Lines of code began rewriting themselves.
The new text read —
"Level 5 Unlocked: The Creator's Curse."
