Miss Sherman knew that if she didn't stand her ground now, they'd drag her along by the nose—especially this Ryan Aldridge. Her first impression of him wasn't good at all.
He looked like such an honest, down-to-earth guy, but for some reason, everything about him just made people uncomfortable. He was just so off-putting.
"Alright then."
Zoe Sawyer pursed her lips, her eyes darkening—a clear sign she was a little unhappy now.
But Miss Sherman couldn't be bothered with any of that right now. All she cared about was finding out whether this guy really was running an investment scam, and whether Zoe had already been ripped off.
After some thought, she softened, "I don't know what line of work you're in, Mr. Aldridge. I know a lot of people; if President Sutton can't introduce you, maybe I can connect you with some other relevant business owners."
