[Boots of Swiftness – Frost Walker]
Origin: Runeterra / Minecraft
Type: Enchanted Footwear
Effect: Automatically adapts to the wearer's size. Grants a modest boost to base movement speed and a large boost to burst acceleration by channeling the chilling energy of the Frost Walker enchantment into kinetic release. Requires a cooldown interval to prevent extreme cold from damaging the equipment. Can be actively triggered to create a frost-freezing effect within several meters of the location stepped upon.
Cost: None
Ren's gaze fell on the line marked Cost: None, and he paused thoughtfully.
A rule-type item, huh?Interesting.
He didn't dwell on it for long.
He picked up the Diamond Shovel, slipped its tip beneath the ground, and gently pried upward—instantly lifting a perfectly square block of earth.
The shaped chunk popped out and immediately shrank into a palm-sized cube.
So that's why items like these get categorized as rule-type?The Minecraft series really has massive potential. The Enchanting Table must have incredible properties too.
Ren made a mental note, then hoisted the Diamond Shovel and began to dig.
They were still under bombardment, after all!
Block after block popped free as a tunnel toward Cocoyasi Village rapidly formed.
"This is a devil fruit ability?"
Nami stared blankly at Ren's actions. It was her first time seeing an actual Devil Fruit user—let alone one who could transform in so many different ways.
And a simple turquoise shovel could perform miracles like this?!
Zoro, as always, was unfazed. He even called Nami over to help.
Arlong Park continued to suffer relentless bombardment, the explosions echoing nonstop.
"They're finished. I've been to Arlong's treasure vault with the colonel—it won't last two hours under this level of shelling."
Aboard the warship, Mondes wore a smug look, as if victory were already his.
"Brilliant insight, sir. Even the Vice Admiral's aide will admire you after this," the Marine officer, Ai-en, flattered quickly.
"Hahaha, that's called seizing opportunity, kid. Learn from me."
Mondes began considering whether to stop the bombardment and send in ground troops early to collect the fruits of victory.
But at that moment—
The lookout on the mast suddenly shouted,"LOOK! Unidentified flying object in the sky!"
——Unidentified flying object?
Mondes frowned and lifted his monocular.
And promptly saw a long stream of smoke trailing across the sky.
"That's… Smoker!? Impossible—he's half an hour early!"
"Sir, what do we do? If he steals the credit, all our efforts will be for nothing!" Ai-en panicked.
"STOP THE BOMBARDMENT! Warship—move toward the bay! Notify all landing units to launch an immediate assault toward the objective! MOVE—EVERY SECOND COUNTS!"
Mondes slammed the monocular onto the deck, cursing furiously:
"What's he rushing for, his own funeral!? Ten hours from Loguetown just for that damn justice of his!?"
Far across the sky, Smoker couldn't hear their shouting.
He was already near exhaustion. Even after resting half an hour at Baratie, maintaining Smoke Form at high speed was draining him rapidly.
As he crossed above a forest canopy—
Gunfire suddenly rang out behind him!
BANG—!
His smoke propulsion halted instantly as Smoker turned toward the forest several hundred meters away.
Enemy!?
Before he could react, a hail of gunfire erupted from the trees—only to weaken rapidly, as if the shooters were being taken out.
"There are enemies!"
Smoker reversed and shot back immediately—but his smoke form warped violently.
His limit was here.
Three minutes earlier—
The escape tunnel to the outside world finally broke through. Ren brought Nami, Zoro, and Chester out.
Seconds after they stepped out, the cellar collapsed behind them—burying the precious waterbed beneath layers of dirt and rubble.
There was no time to mourn the waterbed's sacrifice. The star of the day—the Diamond Shovel—took the stage again.
Ren struck upward, lifting the surface and forming a grid-patterned staircase. Sunlight filtered through the branches as he emerged.
Nami and the others followed, greedily gulping in the fresh air.
Chester hopped excitedly at their feet, clearly thrilled as well.
"We're still within Arlong Park's perimeter?"
Ren surveyed the surroundings, deducing from the still-ongoing shelling.
Flames roared in the distance; even hundreds of meters away, the sky glowed bright red.
The constant explosions made the ground tremble beneath their feet.
Who knew how much ammunition those Marines had loaded onto that warship?
BANG—!
Suddenly, a gunshot cracked through the air—a bullet streaking toward them.
CLANG—!
A metallic chime echoed as golden light flashed in Ren's crimson eyes—his fingers snapping shut around the flintlock bullet.
With a squeeze of his gold-lined fingers, the lead round warped instantly.
"Enemy!"
Zoro frowned and lunged forward, drawing Wado Ichimonji as his silhouette blurred.
A tiger's roar erupted as his blade slammed into the neck of a Marine hiding behind a large tree.
But the Marine managed to shout before collapsing:
"Target spotted! They're here!"
Instantly—
Shouts filled the forest as countless Marines surged out from between the trees like they were growing out of the ground.
"What is this, Viet Cong? Nami—take Chester and stay back!"
Ren reacted instantly. He tossed out the Eye Bone, drew his Doran Sword, and leapt skyward.
Silverfall Dagger!
A sharp whistle descended from above as Ren plunged like a meteor, blade-first into the earth—unleashing a rippling shockwave.
BOOM—!
The hail of bullets firing at him veered off course, while incoming blades and slashes were completely deflected.
The nearest trees shattered, and dozens of Marines were hurled back like rag dolls.
"Aaaagh!"
Dust burst outward. Marine screams echoed through the forest as chaos erupted.
"Incredible! I've never seen that move before—are Devil Fruit users really this strong?"
Now clad in her Silver Scale Chestplate, Nami peeked from the tunnel with bright, astonished eyes—Chester tucked under her arm.
Zoro, however, froze his hand mid-strike, frowning. They were fighting Marines, after all.
But Ren, understanding him perfectly, shouted:
"Leave the rest to me!"
The golden-armored warrior charged into the Marine formation—ignoring blades, bullets, and explosions alike.
A single sweeping strike sent several Marine elites flying.
Ren vaulted, unleashing another Silverfall Dagger—dropping like a meteor into the densest cluster of Marines.
Blades of wind exploded outward—trees snapping in half and crashing onto more Marines.
Those closest to the impact were hurled through the air, limbs twisting, bones snapping, bodies bloodied beyond recognition.
Ren planted the Doran Sword into the ground and switched templates—activating the First Calabash Brother.
Veins bulged across his arms as he seized a massive broken tree trunk.
He sank into a horse stance—
—and swung.
Sweeping Through the Army!
BOOOOM—!
The trunk carved through the air, kicking up a white wave as wind roared. Every Marine it touched spat blood and flew backward violently.
Wielding the trunk like a gigantic spear, Ren charged like an unstoppable general—shattering half the forest in a handful of swings.
