Alex took the coin and examined it. "Why are you giving this to me?"
"Because you're the coolest!" Archibald winked. "Cool people deserve the coolest gifts."
Alex smiled and put the coin in his pocket. "Thank you."
"Alright, let's go in," Ned said, carrying Black on his shoulders as he led the way. Archibald carried the snack bag and walked side by side with Ella. Sophie and Alex followed at the back.
"Mommy," Alex said softly, "both of them are really nice."
Sophie looked down at him and asked, "So?"
"So it's going to be hard for you to choose."
Sophie didn't say anything. She simply stroked his hair gently.
The zoo was crowded with people. Children were running around everywhere, and laughter rose and fell continuously.
Black sat on Ned's shoulders, watching the giraffes. "Daddy! It's so tall! Taller than you!"
"Of course it's taller than me. It's five meters tall."
"How tall is five meters?"
"This much taller than you." Ned gestured with his hand.
