Chapter 34 - Vampire

"Generally, a Beyonder at Sequence 4 can live for about two to three hundred years, and at Sequence 3, usually five hundred years. As for Xia Tali's path, a Sequence 4 can live for a thousand years. I'm not very clear about Sequence 3, but it's for a very long time."

"A thousand years? Captain, are you foolish? Why didn't you choose this path?"

"I…"

Luo Yan was furious, wishing he could slap him a few times, but he ultimately held back. He took several deep breaths to calm himself down.

"Because at Sequence 2, time no longer has meaning. As long as you're not killed, theoretically, you won't die. And if you make certain preparations beforehand, even if you are killed, it's not impossible to be resurrected."

"Really? Captain, you're not just spouting nonsense, are you?"

"Get out of here!"

Luo Yan finally couldn't hold back and kicked Luo Ta in the chest, sending him straight into the sea. After this outburst, Luo Yan's mood calmed down, and he looked back at Xia Tali.

"Have you thought about it? Do you want to drink it?"

At this moment, Xia Tali was no longer conflicted and nodded very decisively.

"Yes! Since Captain wants me to become a Vampire, then I will become a Vampire!"

Luo Yan nodded and handed the potion to Xia Tali.

Xia Tali took all three bottles of potion, first distributing them to her two tamed animals, then tilted her head back and drank the Vampire potion in one gulp.

The two animals did not immediately take the potions. Instead, they each held their potions and simply watched their master.

"Ah!"

Xia Tali let out a cry of pain. Her unbound silver hair billowed without wind, her eyes became bloodshot, and her fingernails grew long. Her face twisted as she bent over, and her entire being appeared to be in great agony.

Seeing this, Luo Yan's heart involuntarily tightened. He watched Xia Tali intently, not even noticing that Luo Ta had already climbed back from the sea.

Black mist seemed to float out from Xia Tali's pores, growing denser and obscuring her figure. A pair of bat-like wings behind her suddenly unfurled, scattering the black mist.

Xia Tali gasped for breath, her condition gradually stabilizing. Her facial features became softer, and her figure became more curvaceous, but overall, she looked a bit younger than before. The blood red in the whites of her eyes began to contract towards her pupils, making her pupils permanently red. Already possessing remarkable beauty, she now appeared even more perfect.

Seeing this, Luo Yan breathed a sigh of relief. This meant Xia Tali's advancement had been successful.

Just then, Xia Tali abruptly threw the empty potion bottle, then grabbed at the air. Five streaks of black light flew out, instantly shattering the bottle. Then, with a flap of her wings, she soared into the sky, circled once, and then landed back on the deck. She seemed a bit dazed, as if she couldn't believe the abilities she now possessed.

"This is a Vampire? It's much stronger than a Beast Tamer…"

Xia Tali murmured softly. At this, Luo Yan chuckled.

"That's right, at the Sequence 7 stage, a Vampire's strength ranks among the top. Some Sequence 6s might not even be able to defeat a Vampire…"

Before Luo Yan could even finish speaking, Xia Tali had already moved close to him, tilting her head and twitching her delicate nose.

"You, what are you doing?"

Luo Yan had never really dealt with girls much, and now that Xia Tali was even more beautiful than before and making such an ambiguous gesture, he couldn't handle it. He subconsciously took a step back.

"Captain, your blood smells so good."

Only then did Luo Yan understand what was happening. Vampires require blood rich in spirituality, and the blood of Beyonders is inherently more spiritual than that of ordinary people. Therefore, in this world, the person with the most spiritual blood was undoubtedly Luo Yan, a Sequence 5. It was no wonder Xia Tali found it appealing.

"I… Alright, alright, I understand. I'll give you blood later. First, have your pets drink their potions."

Luo Yan couldn't refuse, because he was the one who led Xia Tali down this path, and he was the one who persuaded her to drink the Vampire potion. Now that she needed blood, he couldn't possibly say no.

After receiving the promise, Xia Tali immediately smiled brightly and began to use her Beast Tamer abilities to help her two pets endure the potion.

The Little Golden Monkey adapted to the potion faster than the White Sable. After the White Sable recovered from the potion's impact, just standing there gave off an aura of majesty.

"Success!"

Xia Tali exclaimed joyfully. Luo Yan nodded, picked up the remaining two bottles, and returned to his room to put them away.

Mite, after being scolded, returned to the cockpit, not daring to linger in front of Luo Yan. Luo Ta, who had been kicked, also wisely returned to his room to sleep. Although he spoke bluntly, he wasn't brainless and knew when to hide.

Luo Yan agonized in his room for a while before coming to Xia Tali's door and knocking.

"Come in."

Xia Tali's clear voice sounded from within. Luo Yan pushed the door open and saw Xia Tali sitting on a small chair, grooming the White Sable's fur. The White Sable was enjoying it immensely, its eyes half-closed, looking as if it had fallen asleep.

"Captain, you're finally here. I've been waiting for a long time."

As soon as she saw Luo Yan enter, Xia Tali abandoned the White Sable, stood up, and took out the pre-prepared goblet, small dagger, and a tube of healing potion, placing them on the table.

"Captain, will you do it yourself, or shall I help you?"

"You're quite well-prepared."

Luo Yan shook his head helplessly, sat at the table, and used the small dagger to cut his wrist. Crimson blood flowed into the goblet, and Luo Yan also used his water manipulation ability to assist the blood flow. Soon, the goblet was about seventy percent full.

At this point, Luo Yan wasn't showing signs of excessive blood loss, but losing so much blood at once still made his face a bit pale.

Seeing that it was enough, Luo Yan immediately stopped the bleeding, picked up the healing potion nearby, and drank it in one gulp. Then he stood up.

"I'm going back to rest. You also… Anyway, I'm leaving."

Luo Yan had originally intended to say, "You also rest early," but suddenly realized that Xia Tali was now a Vampire, a nocturnal creature, so he didn't finish his sentence.

"Yes! Captain, do you need me to escort you back?"

Xia Tali stood up, intending to offer support, but Luo Yan stopped her with a raised hand.

"No need, I'm not that weak. I'm going now."

With that, Luo Yan had already left the room, closing the door behind him.

Xia Tali picked up the goblet filled with blood, first gently swirled it, then brought her nose to the rim, taking a deep sniff. Afterwards, she narrowed her eyes, seemingly savoring the aroma.
