Chapter 22 - Social Complexity

"That is the gist of things, kid, but more about that later. Just remember, they are all equally as important, since you will slowly make your girls realize their true potential… and desires."

Yamir finished just as Dorian put away the last of the food he had brought in.

"Sounds good, then. I'll get better soon. At least now I understand all this this a bit more… Now let me make a call before it gets too late."

He hoped Lina wasn't asleep yet and began typing a quick message:

Dorian:

"Hey, sorry I didn't call today. I've been swamped with the move! But I had to check in on you. So tell me, what's a gorgeous girl like you doing on a lonely night like this without me? "

Dorian wasn't sure if he was buttering her up the right way, but he was pretty sure he'd earn a scolding either way.

When no reply came within seconds, he climbed the stairs and stepped into his room.

He gave a brief glance toward his aunt's door before heading into his own. The room still felt bare, with only the large bed in the middle, an old lamp on the nightstand, two cabinets holding most of his stuff, and a nearly empty closet with its sliding door left open.

He sighed. He hadn't really made the space his own yet.

Grabbing a towel and a change of clothes, he tossed his phone onto the bed and headed for a quick five-minute shower to wash off the hard night sweat.

After rinsing off and toweling down, he returned to his room just as his phone buzzed. The screen lit up once, vibrating softly.

"Is it Lina?"

He mumbled curiously as he picked up the phone, and sure enough, the woman had replied.

Lina:

"Ha, so you do remember me, huh? Here I thought what I did was simply a dream. Honestly, I'm still shocked I did that in my shop of all places… Anyway, sorry for the delay. I needed a long bath to relax."

Dorian let out a relieved sigh. If he'd waited until the next day to message her, there probably wouldn't have been any excuse good enough to save him.

Dorian:

"No, it was all real, Lina. At least, I hope it was... because it was a moment I won't forget. Now tell me, what are you up to? And when can I see you again? I really want to see your beautiful face, Lina…"

He saw the typing dots appear, then disappear, then return again. He laid back on his bed, focused completely on her now.

Lina: "Well… I was just about to sleep, but I wouldn't mind seeing you either. How about a quick video call while I dry my hair? Just know I don't have any makeup on…"

Dorian chuckled. He remembered how she still looked amazing the day before, even with her makeup falling off, given how much they had sweated.

Dorian: "No problem! I already know most of that hot body, and nothing's going to stop me from wanting to see you again."

Lina: "Fine… fine. Just give me a few minutes. There's no way I'm letting you see me like this."

Knowing his phone wouldn't do the call justice, Dorian grabbed his laptop, setting it up for a better video feed. While waiting, he flipped through emails and news until something clicked once again.

He was about to commit the same mistake and had forgotten to message Emma.

Dorian:

"Hey Em! I'm heading to bed. Hope you got home safe. Could you send me a message when you can? Let's talk tomorrow, k love?"

He sighed, thinking he needed to get a handle on his social interactions. He'd never texted two different girls like this before. His guy friends were easy, just memes or random game screenshots.

Nothing this... complex.

Moments later, his screen lit up.

Emma:

"Me too! I mean, I'm heading to bed too. I'm all good here, just lonely… Hope we see each other real soon, and thanks for giving me the best day of my life! Bye, Dorian. Now sleep~"

He smiled, then nearly choked as another notification popped up. It was a photo. Emma, in her nightwear.

Dorian jolted upright.

Dorian: "Nice! I'm definitely going to have good dreams tonight…"

Dorian kept staring at the picture until another message popped up.

Emma: "Where's mine? I want a good dream too!"

Dorian chuckled and did his best to strike a decent pose before sending one back.

Emma: "Nice body! That's exactly what I needed. Now let me sleep—I have to be up early for work…"

A smile crept across his face as he looked down at his phone. Her photo was still open—blonde hair let loose, a silky red negligee that covered only the essentials.

It must've taken effort to find the right pose while wearing something that revealed just enough while still leaving more to the imagination.

She was taking things very seriously.

He set the phone down and let out a quiet yawn, wondering if Lina had already fallen asleep.

That's when his laptop lit up with an incoming call. A video call.

He answered without hesitation, and the screen brightened to reveal Lina sitting on her bed.

Her hair was swept to one side, a beige golden robe was tied around her, and the soft glow of a nearby lamp highlighted her sharp European features. Unlike Emma, who leaned into cute and sexy, Lina carried herself with a noble, elegant charm.

"So… how do I look?"

Her tone carried a hint of shyness as she glanced toward the camera.

Dorian smiled, eyes licking each part of her body slowly.

"As gorgeous as yesterday, maybe even more. That robe suits you. It looks both classy and mysterious."

Lina glanced down and tugged the robe tighter around herself, a silent message that she wouldn't be showing him anything more just yet.

"Guess you won't let me see what's under that… for now. Fine! Let's talk first. Tell me—how was your day? I really want to know."

Lina smirked and shifted her position, leaning sideways with her cheek resting on her palm, elbow propped up against the bed.

The pose was effortlessly seductive.

Especially as the robe loosened slightly, just enough to offer a glimpse of cleavage.
