Sean's POV
The urgent call through the mind link hits me like a physical blow, sending me scrambling to my feet before Philip finishes speaking. "I need you guys here now. Karl's about to shift in the middle of town and I've got the human with me."
My blood runs cold. A public shift would expose their entire pack.
"Where exactly?" Ajax demands, already sprinting beside me through the dense forest.
"Jaden Street, near the school."
I push my body to its limits, muscles burning as branches whip past my face. My wolf form would be faster, but shifting would mean arriving naked in a human neighborhood. Not exactly subtle.
"What set him off?" I gasp between ragged breaths.
Karl losing control makes no sense. Their alpha has iron discipline, especially around humans. For an adult werewolf to lose control like this, something catastrophic must have happened. Usually only severe injury, crushing emotional trauma, or fighting a mate bond could trigger such a reaction.
