Sandy's POV
The world tilted dangerously as consciousness crashed into me like a freight train. Powerful hands clamped down on my shoulders, jerking me back to reality with violent shakes. Fire shot through my spine, dragging a pathetic whimper from my throat before I could bite it back.
"Sandy!" Dominic's voice hammered against my eardrums, raw and furious.
My vision swam in thick fog, my thoughts buried under layers of exhaustion that felt like drowning in quicksand.
I fought to clear the haze from my eyes until his face materialized above me. Those familiar dark eyes burned with barely contained rage. His mouth was set in a cruel slash across his face.
"Where is she?" The words came out strangled, like he was choking on his own fury. "What did you do to Kari?"
