From the moment i opened my eyes, i knew that i was different, i kept having weird dreams, some people called it visions of a palace made completely out of light and the kindest and the most affectionate smile that i to this day feel warm just by remembering it, i can't tell if it belonged to a loved one or maybe a dear comrade, or just someone that i held in high regard .
But no matter what my relationship with the owner of that smile, every time i remembered that smile, i just can't help but feel intoxicated, as if there were butterflies in my stomach .
Ryuu-kun, it was time for you to rise and shine, you wouldn't want to be late on your first day at school .
Suddenly another sweet and warm voice sounded in the room, it would appear that i was so engrossed in my dreams, completely disregarding of the alarm clock going off 10 minutes ago, forcing my mother to come and check on me .
" Good morning, mom " .
Good morning, son, i hope that all of your days from now on will be good, but you need to hurry up and get ready .
My mother wishful thinking was at work again, my next day are expected to be full of relentless and exhaustion, but the gesture had still warmed my heart a bit .
I wondered if the female in my dreams was my mother all along, but i soon discarded that probability out of my mind .
My mother gave me a maternal smile, but that smile in my dreams was full of affection and a feeling of too much closeness, something a mother wouldn't be able to give her son, no matter how precious he was to her .
Hey, are you listening to me, what's on your mind, you look quite detached .
I guess she had to remind me that i was still laying down on the bed, she was indeed correct, i was really detached a little, okey more than a little, just remembering that beautiful smile and that palace of light .
" I'm sorry mom, i was indeed a bit absent-minded just now, i will get ready in a minute "
Her gaze on me suddenly shifted to one of worry, as she patted me gently on the head and said :
Was it these weird dreams that you kept on having the cause of this ? .
I nodded my head at that question of hers and just began to get up from the bed and seeing that the scene was beginning to turn a bit uncomfortable, i tried to crack a joke at her enthusiasm when she was waking me up, saying :
" Was this how much you wanted me out of the house, mother, i'm a bit hurt y'know " .
That pulled her out of the trance she was in, as she then began to deny it directly with a bit tearful eyes, that threatened to unleash a powerful tsunami consisting completely of her tears, i was already standing in front of the bathroom which was outside my room, but seeing her frustrated face, i couldn't stop my laughter .
Finally realizing that i was just teasing her, she pulled the closest thing next to hear and throw it at the bathroom door, luckily i had just closed it in time, otherwise i could have had a soring back for my first day at school .
I guess there was no need to pack the alarm clock, from the sound of it, it was completely destroyed in the last attack of my mother .
I was about to freshen up a bit by taking a nice cold shower, when my mother voice came from behind the door, making my hurried action coming to a halt .
I know that i'm a terrible mother, hurrying you up to leave like that, not knowing when will i even be able to see you again, but i was just worried that you will miss your first day and will have to confront that man, i'm sorry Ryuu .
Women were quite weird creatures, even though my mom know that i was merely cracking a joke with her, the moment she finished saying those words, the dam finally broke completely apart, the crying voice of my mother was tearing my heart apart, but her mentioning that Man had me completely in shock, but i soon calmed myself a bit, focusing more on comforting the now weeping mother outside the bathroom door .
" Mom, you are not the one to be blamed, if someone was to be blamed then it will most likely be me " .
But if not for that incident a few months ago, you wouldn't have been contacted by that Man, our life could have continued to peaceful, but that wasn't a possibility now and it was all because of me, I'm really really sorry dear, i can't think of a way to compensate you .
" Mom, please don't worry about that and it wasn't like i had any choice in that matter, as i said if someone was to be blamed for the current circumstances, it would probably be me, so don't worry about it, i'm fully prepared to take responsibility for the matter .
And please don't cry, i was really just joking with you, as for that Man, don't worry he might be able to make some shady movements with his connection outside, but inside Akane Academy, i don't believe he have the guts to do anything to me, once I'm inside the school walls, i will be completely safe, but it's you whom i worry about Mom and you crying here and now wasn't helping in easing my worries even a little bit "
Her crying suddenly stopped, so i continued :
" Mom, i owe nothing to that Man, but to you i owe everything and will always do, I'm thankful for you being my mother, i will be doing my best at the school for the sake of the two of us, so you will also need to be strong for the sake of the two of us, what do you think " .
I think, i think, my baby boy had matured a lot, but you are right, i was really lame for crying on such an occasion, is there anything that mom can do for you ? .

The last part of her words was her trying to act strong by telling me to take my time, but for her sake and mine, i will finish getting ready quickly .
I first turned on the water and cleaned my sweaty body, my body was lean but i had a well-proportioned muscle in both my arms and chest, i wasn't muscler, but i had an efficient healthy body .
My height was 170cm, quite tall for guys my age, i was 15 years old and a junior high schooler, my name was Komurasaki Ryuu, i had a blonde hair thanks to my mom and green eyes, i was good looking but not much of a handsome guy, i tended to frown occasionally and that was mostly the reason to why i had no friends back in my previous school .
I looked in the mirror, styled my hair, just kidding i preferred to keep it unkempt, i washed it with a bit of water, then i dried myself, put my uniform and went to the kitchen to see that my mother as usual prepared a feast, my mother's name was Komurasaki Reina, i took upon the surname of my mother and not my father for i didn't want to have any connection with that guy .
My mom was 43 years old with blonde hair and deep blue eyes, she appeared younger than what she actually was, but a few wrinkles were apperant under her eyes, distorting a bit of her charm, but she was able to give people a very warm feeling the moment she smiles, if not for that Man my mom wouldn't have had those wrinkles at such an age .
I once again greeted her and said good morning, she replied with a sweet smile, but i was still able to tell that she shed a few more tears even after i asked her not to, i was able to tell because her eyes were reddened .
I had my breakfast in a bit of hurry, noticing that the clock was ticking, the entrance ceremony was obligatory in my new school, Akane Academy .
I bid my mother farewell and give her a goodbye kiss on the cheek, luckily she didn't cry this time, she wanted to but held back her tears for my sake, i waved at her and began to head out of the building, as i reached the front of the building, i was met with a quite luxurious car waiting for me, i first thought it was waiting for someone other than me .
But then the butler standing in front of the car called out to me, saying that he was here to pick me up, i asked if he mistook me for someone else, but he asked me about my name, but add my father surname instead of my mother's, i instantly understood that this was an arrangement made by that Man and tried to refuse .
I suddenly felt a gaze on my back and turned around and saw that my mom was looking at the current scene from the window with a quite difficult to describe expression on her face, thinking that it was better to just let everything go as intended, i allowed him to take my luggage and put them in the car, i waved at my mom one last time and entered the car and asked the driver to get going .
I was wondering whether to get out of the car after we moved for a bit of distance from my home, when suddenly the phone in the hands of the old butler rang, then after answer the call, he directly handed me the phone, telling me everything i need about who was calling .
I for a few seconds didn't know what to do after the phone was in my hand, but i steadied my heart and put the phone on my ear but said nothing .
The Man on the other side pretty much anticipated my reaction, so he began to say :
The courses you will take have already been assigned and the schedule will be given to you by the butler Leron, i demand that you won't embarrass me more than you already did, your mother will be under a heavy protection, so you won't have to worry about anything other than increasing your strength, i also demand an excellent results from you, if you did well, i might be able to secure a good contract from the Urushibara's family .
The man on the line kept talking about the targets he set for me and the goals he wanted me to achieve, that was all what the conversation was about, i was a bit relived that he will go out of his way and help my mother stay safe, but knowing his nature i was a bit more guarded of him doing this .
He told me to keep the phone as it will be his mean to reach and contact me in the Academy, then without even the need to hear my reply, he hanged up the call .
I put the cellphone in my pocket and looked at the sky, reminiscing about the incident that happened a few months ago which altered my life 180 degree for better or worse, i still can't tell but just because of the involvement of that Man, more points was currently in favor of worse .
A few months ago, i was met with the harsh reality of the world that i lived in for more than 14 years, i also had my first encounter with the plague that haunted our world .
The Metaphysical are mysterious beings like monsters but more dreadful, i heard that there were nothing but a mere rumors and i did believe so, but when i encountered one of those in real life, i realized that the stories about them and how much destruction they caused were all true .
The Metaphysical that i was unfortunate to witness was 4 meters white haired gorilla with a scorpion like tail, coming from its back, in that day me and my mother were celebrating my 15th birthday in a place that happened to be near that Metaphysical, my mother and i were guided by the police officer to take cover and hide in somewhere safe, the Metaphysical cries was so deafening that even before he reached the place we were in .
Most of the people in front me at that time were so scared that they weren't even able to move a muscle, not to mention escape from that dreadful monster .
I was terrified the moment i saw the monster's appearance and for some reason, he seemed to have noticed me even among the crowd, he issued another loud cry and directly came my way, destroying cars, trees and any human that happened to be on his path, my mom waking up from the initial shock and seeing that the monster was advancing towards us, began to hurry retreat, but her movements were a bit sluggish and the agility of that Monster was nothing to scoff at, in a second it had already killed more than a dozen of humans and he cornered me and my mother together with other humans .
But then the scorpion tail of it moved piercing through the crowds and aimed directly at me, i closed my eyes thinking that i will lose my life, but a few seconds later nothing happened, so i opened my eyes wondering what happened, but what i saw made my face pale and my blood ran cold .
My mother have put herself in front of me bearing the attack of the Metaphysical and was directly pierced by the attack and was hanging on the tail of the said monster, but she still tried to turn her head and telling me to go away .
I lost conscious and the next thing i woke up too was inside a hospital room, i was fine, i hurriedly asked about the whereabouts of my mother while crying my eyes out, but the doctors only looked at me weirdly before opening the door and allowing my mother to come inside, she was completely fine, she even wore the same dress she wore when the Metaphysical appeared, she took me in her arms and began to calm me down .
I was left wondering if all that happened before was just my vivid imagination, but taking many things into consideration, that shouldn't have been possible, i wanted to ask the doctor to clarify what had happened, but the door of the room suddenly opened and from the door entered a man with black hair and venomous green eyes wearing an expensive suit, that incident marked my first encounter with the supernatural world, it also marked my first time meeting my father .
