When they turned their heads, they didn't find Harry.
"Harry?" Lavender, who was passing by, said, "Harry stayed with Professor Scamander, it seems like he had something to discuss with him."
Ron thought for a moment and said to Hermione, "Let's go back to the hall first. When Harry returns, we can discuss what to do."
However, they were surprised that Harry hadn't appeared by dinner time, as if he had been staying with Professor Scamander all along.
Ron anxiously glanced at the time; he couldn't even focus on eating his chicken leg.
Noticing her friend's concern, Hermione asked softly, "What's wrong, Ron? Are you still thinking about earlier events?"
"I feel it's not that simple!" Ron said in a low voice, "Think about it, that toad is such a malicious character! I bet she exploited loopholes in Professor Scamander's words, fabricating something to attack Principal Dumbledore, and I think someone as good as Professor Scamander might also get implicated..."
"What should we do, then?" Hermione frowned and asked, "We are students, after all, what can we do?"
"Hermione!" Ron slammed the table, "We have to think of a plan, think about what we should do... Harry isn't back yet, by the time he returns, it might be too late... I think we must do something to stop that toad from doing bad things!"
"Ron," Hermione said, "What do you want to do?"
"Listen," Ron said quietly, "We need to know what the toad wrote on her clipboard, so... the best way is to infiltrate her office and find her clipboard. That way, we can be mentally prepared, don't you think? If she wants to go after Professor Dumbledore, Harry, or Professor McGonagall using twisted facts to mislead the public, the situation could be dire..."
"But after all, Professor Dumbledore is the greatest wizard of the century." Hermione raised an eyebrow and said, "Do you think the Ministry of Magic can overthrow him from the position of headmaster at Hogwarts?"
"I know they can't, but I also know she represents the Ministry of Magic!" Ron said softly, "You need to know that quite a number of wizards believe in the Ministry of Magic, as it's the authority... If her fabricated lies are believed by the uninformed, it will surely damage the reputation of Dumbledore or Harry, understand? If Harry wants to join the Ministry of Magic like Miss Grindelwald in the future, this might be an obstacle..."
Hermione thought for a moment; that indeed made sense.
"So what do you say we should do?" She asked.
"I'll think of a plan..." Ron murmured, "Hmm... I'll go find Fred and George; the plan needs their help."
Upon hearing Fred and George's names, Hermione's mouth fell open.
"You want them to help?" Hermione whispered with raised eyebrows, "Seriously, Ronald? Are you planning an assault on the professor?"
"Listen to what you're saying, Miss Prefect." Fred's voice sounded from Hermione's left.
Meanwhile, George's voice came from her right: "Do you really see us brothers as such?"
Saying this, the twins leaned their heads back, "Oh dear, it saddens us so much to think we appear that way in your mind!"
"Oh, I'm not..." Hermione waved her hands, wanting to explain.
"Haha, just kidding with you." The twins laughed in unison, sitting beside Ron and hugging his neck from both sides: "So what's the great plan our little Ronnie—no, our Weasley Prefect—wants his two elder brothers to execute?"
Ron coughed twice, raised his head to observe the surroundings, and seeing no one was paying attention, he explained his analysis to the twins in a low voice.
The more the twins listened, the more serious they looked, finally speaking in unison: "Tell us, what you need us to do?"
"I need you two to lure that toad out," Ron said solemnly, "so I can use the Disillusionment Charm to sneak into her office, and check out her clipboard to see what crap she's written."
"If that's the case..." Fred's eyes began to sparkle, and he held his hand out to high-five George: "Such a grand adventure, how could it be without the two of us?! We're in!"
"You guys..." Hermione still felt uneasy, "I don't think this is proper; this should be reported to Principal Dumbledore, or told to Professor McGonagall..."
"No, silly girl." Fred rubbed his hands eagerly, "How can we tell the professors about this? Such an urgent matter... Oh no, such a pressing issue, if they were to discuss and decide, then everything would be too late—listen to Ron, it's the first time I feel he's really our brother!"
"Hey!" Ron exclaimed in dissatisfaction, "What do you mean it's the first time you feel I'm your brother?"
"Oh come on, Ron!" George teased, "You've always been different from us, quite the straightforward one, do you think you're anything like the two of us?"
"Good thing not," Ron retorted, "Otherwise, mum would have a headache."
The twins sighed altogether.
"Yeah, I feel you both aren't really part of us." Ginny, holding a letter, waved it in her hand and said: "Look, mum congratulated Ron for becoming a Gryffindor Prefect, saying everyone in our family is a Prefect!"
"Not really?" The twins panicked, "What about us? Aren't we part of this family?"
"Yes, next-door Weasleys." Ginny chuckled in response.
The twins took a deep breath, telling themselves to stay calm.
"Well." George asked, "Harry? Does he know about this?"
"Because we can't find him, we've come up with this plan," Ron said in a low voice, "I visited Professor Scamander's camp earlier; he told me Harry wasn't there... Even the wizard phone can't reach him. Who knows where he's gone..."
"Have you called Vivi?" Hermione asked beside him.
"How could I dare!" Ron scratched his head, "First, I don't have her number. Second, she's the Minister of Magic. Is it appropriate for a student to call her? Lastly, she's Harry's girlfriend, why would I call my buddy's girlfriend for no reason?"
"That's also true." Hermione smacked her lips and took out the crystal ball to dial Harry's number.
It's busy.
She dialed Vivi's number again.
This time, Vivi answered.
"Hermione?" Vivi was dressed formally, sitting in an office chair with golden rimmed glasses on her nose, "Anything up?"
"It's like this, Vivi," Hermione said, "We've encountered some urgent situation here, but we can't reach Harry... Is he with you?"
"No." Vivi adjusted her glasses, "Maybe he's busy with something, he might return soon."
"Alright." Hermione said, somewhat disappointed, and hung up the phone.
"You see." Ron shrugged, "He's not with Miss Grindelwald or Professor Scamander, where else could he be?"
"Miss Malfoy?" Hermione tentatively asked.
"Stop guessing," Ron sighed, "Let's discuss how we can safely infiltrate the toad's office and see what's on her clipboard!"
