Chapter 814 - Chapter 326: When Umbridge Investigates Snape..._2

She wished she could rush home right now and harshly question her father.

Her daughter was fighting desperately, why did her father surrender first?!

"Of course," Hermione said again, "Many wizard families are showing support for the Ministry of Magic, such as the Gringotts family, the Farley family, etc. They all agree that Dumbledore's bizarre decisions are harmful to the students."

At this, Draco stopped his antics and suddenly looked up, puzzled.

The Farley family?

It was well-known that Jemma Farley of the Farley family was now a confidant of Lady Grindelwald, the Minister of Magic of the Great German Ministry of Magic.

She was also firm in standing by Potter's side.

Saying that her family supports the British Ministry of Magic?

A sudden realization dawned on Draco; he felt there must be some deal he wasn't aware of.

Could it be...

Organized, planned, premeditated...?

Draco decided to bide his time for now and write home later to ask if his suspicions were correct.

At the Gryffindor table, Hermione continued her critique.

"Those bizarre decisions undoubtedly include hiring controversial staff, something the paper has already commented on, including hiring the werewolf Remus Lupin, the half-blood giant Rubeus Hagrid, and the counterfeit former Auror 'Mad-Eyed' Moody—"

"Is she insane?" Ron immediately said with displeasure, "Whether it's Professor Lupin or Hagrid, they're both very well-liked professors. Why does she have it out for them? Or is her intelligence subpar? Is her brain underdeveloped and her cerebellum completely undeveloped?"

"Perhaps," Seamus shrugged, "There's also a possibility, she just sees everyone with a good relationship with Professor Dumbledore as an enemy—of course, I think Harry is also at risk."

"No," Neville corrected, "Harry isn't at risk; he's already an enemy of Umbridge."

True enough, after all, Harry was the hardcore rebel who hung the pink toad upside down.

"Of course, people are also saying that Albus Dumbledore, once the chairman of the International Wizarding Union and the Chief Mage of the Wizengamot, is no longer capable of managing this prestigious school, Hogwarts."

"I believe that appointing an investigator is the first step to ensuring we have a headmaster at Hogwarts whom we all can trust," an insider from the Ministry of Magic said last night.

Elder Griselda Markbanks and Tibulus Ogden of the Wizengamot resigned in protest of appointing an investigator to Hogwarts.

"Hogwarts is a school, not an outpost for Cornelius Fudge's office," Mrs. Markbanks said, "This is an attempt to further tarnish Albus Dumbledore's reputation, and it is despicable."

(For a detailed report on accusations of Mrs. Markbanks secretly colluding with goblin overthrow groups, please see page seventeen of our paper.)

At this point, this news article also came to an end.

"I really can't imagine where Fudge gets his courage," Hermione said with a 'wtf' expression, "Was his brain kicked by a Hebrides Black Dragon?"

"It's part of his grand plan," Seamus said passionately, "Grand vision, right?"

However, Ron suddenly showed a cheeky smile.

"What's up?" Hermione asked curiously when she saw his expression.

"Ah," Ron said, folding his arms, "An investigator? I'd be quite curious to see what happens if Snape gets investigated by her."

Everyone thought for a moment and showed expectant expressions.

It was indeed something to look forward to, Umbridge clashing with Snape? This could easily top Hogwarts' annual anticipation list!

Even though many of the Slytherin families supported the Ministry of Magic and Umbridge, not a single student believed that someone with Snape's personality would lower himself to Umbridge.

They only thought that Snape would surely use his venom to really open Umbridge's eyes.

"Of course," Hermione said, brushing her hair back, "I don't actually think Professor Snape will come into conflict with Umbridge—or rather, Umbridge might not target Snape, just think about it..."

"It's not impossible," Ron said, nodding, "But then again, Professor McGonagall might not be able to tolerate Professor Umbridge harassing her either."

"You should wish Professor McGonagall well," Hermione said, shaking her head, "Professor McGonagall is already up in years, and can't endure such torment."

They didn't take the investigator matter to heart, after all, if the sky fell, the tall ones would hold it up.

Harry also finally finished writing his lesson plan, preparing to give an engaging lecture on some dueling tips in the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Looking at Harry's lesson plan, Ron suddenly had a thought.

"Isn't it?" he suddenly said, "Technically, Harry is also part of the teaching staff. Even though he's only a fifth-year acting professor right now, Umbridge still has the authority to investigate him. What if Umbridge wants to make trouble for him during class?"

"What would I do?" Harry grinned, pulling out his magic wand, "Then I'd have to ask my magic wand."

"Alright," Ron shrugged, "If she doesn't want to seek her own death, she can go ahead and give you trouble..."

Monday's classes came around again. Professor Bin's class was as dull as ever, making it ideal for catching a nap.

Ron propped an elbow on the desk, his face resting on his hand, with his head tilted back, mouth open, sleeping and occasionally nodding off.

He was truly exhausted.

"It seems that Umbridge doesn't have any intention of checking on Professor Bin," Hermione whispered.

"Everyone knows Professor Bin is the unmovable Professor of Magical History, teaching this school's history since the time of the four founders," Harry shrugged, "If she wants to investigate whether the Professor of Magical History is qualified, then she's the one with the real brain issue."

"True enough," Hermione nodded in agreement, "Time has already proven that Professor Bin is the perfect candidate for Magical History, and besides, he's just a ghost, not a threat to the Ministry of Magic at all—he couldn't possibly be one of Dumbledore's people."

"Dumbledore's ghost," Harry added, "Professor Bin isn't a person anymore."

"Oh, thank you for reminding me," Hermione said, rolling her eyes.

"So do you think she'll investigate Professor Snape later?" Harry asked again in a low voice, "Maybe we can bet a Sickle. I don't think she'll go."

"I think she will," Hermione said firmly, "Trust me, Harry—she'll be eager to show Professor Snape who's boss."

...

In the Magic Potion Class.

"A Sickle," Harry said, stretching out his hand to Hermione.

Hermione reluctantly pulled out a Silver Coin and handed it to Harry.

She was a bit discouraged; why didn't Umbridge come to the Magic Potion Class to give Professor Snape some trouble?

"...Or do you already think you're excellent enough to conduct some shady deals in my class?"

Snape's sinister voice echoed beside them.

"Potter," Snape sneered, "Don't think just because your paper got an O, you can disregard the professor... What were you and Miss Omniscient doing just now?"

"Nothing, Professor," Harry said, looking up and trying his best to keep his eyes wide while looking at Snape.

Snape showed a look of disgust, clearly to the extreme.

Still sees himself as a first-year kid? Look at that face of yours, just like your dead father!
