Chapter 423 - Chapter 178: Under the Shadow of the Death God (12,000 Words)

At this critical moment, Harry stepped between the two of them.

"Alright, you two, stop fighting."

As he said this, Harry found it hard not to break a sweat.

Of course, it was easy to say, but being caught between two older sisters wasn't a pleasant feeling.

"Let's call it a draw, how about that?" Harry wiped the sweat off his forehead. "If this continues, the Room of Requirement will get destroyed!"

Hearing Harry's words, Vivi put away her magic wand.

Seeing Vivi put away her magic wand, Cassandra also tucked her wand into the inner lining of her robe, and at the same time, the dark clouds around her began to dissipate.

The flames around Vivi's body went out with a puff, like turning off a gas stove, slowly extinguishing.

"I admit, Grindelwald," Cassandra said arrogantly, raising her chin, "you are indeed a worthy opponent."

"Thank you." Vivi wasn't angry; instead, she elegantly smiled.

The members of the Dueling House surrounding them applauded wildly, and Hermione clapped her hands, cheering for Vivi's splendid performance—Draco, on the other hand, was different; he even invented his own cheering stance, raising his hands and jumping up and down for his great-aunt.

This guy, who taught him that?

Ron turned his head aside, muttering "bootlicker" and pondering whether Draco learned this cheering style from Lucius.

Harry also applauded for their outstanding skills, and after they stepped down, he asked again, "Anyone else want to volunteer for a duel?"

"Weasley!" Draco immediately stepped forward, ruthlessly breaking up Hermione and Ron's dueling team: "Step up, I want to duel with you!"

"You?" Ron looked Draco up and down: "Oh, come on, haven't we dueled before, and when did you ever win?"

Draco laughed disdainfully.

If it were before, he certainly wouldn't have come up and started trouble, as knowing the ropes was always a fine tradition of the Malfoy family.

But this time was different. This holiday, Draco had received special tutoring from Sebastian, giving him newfound confidence.

After all, he had learned quite a bit from one of the legendary wizards of a century ago.

However, little did he know, although he had special tutoring, Ron also had a gold medal master for one-on-one guidance.

As a buddy of Gellert Grindelwald, Ron hadn't forgotten to stay in touch with his pal during the holiday.

Gellert seemed to really like this unpretentious little buddy, offering guidance with no reservations, teaching anything he wanted to learn.

In this, he was far more flexible than Dumbledore, since Dumbledore wouldn't teach powerful dark magic.

Of course, Ron wasn't the type to actively seek to learn dark magic, anyway.

The two stood on the dueling platform, and this time, the enthusiastic Seamus stepped up as the referee.

"You two, listen to my countdown." Seamus held up his hand and shouted, "Three, two, one..."

At the moment Seamus finished speaking, Ron and Draco simultaneously aimed an evil curse at each other's face.

"Rectumsempra (Mouthful of Cheeky Chatter)!"

"Densaugeo (Bucktooth Bat)!"

The spells met in the air, vanishing into the atmosphere.

"Can you two be a little more mature!" Seamus shouted, enjoying the commotion: "Can you stop using first-year spells! Use something from third year!"

As if responding to Seamus's words, Draco and Ron simultaneously recited the Disarming Spell.

The two exchanged spells back and forth on stage, making for quite the lively duel.

"Good job! Ron!" Seamus and Neville cheered together: "Keep it up! Knock Malfoy off the dueling platform!"

Hearing their words, Cassandra's little ears couldn't help but twitch.

The duel continued on stage, Ron, using a Flaming Bear to drive Draco out of position, suddenly flicked his wrist, and Draco's magic wand spiraled into his hand.

"I win, Malfoy." Ron cheerfully tossed the magic wand back to Draco, bouncing back over to Hermione.

"My goodness, Ron." Hermione was a bit surprised: "How did you become so formidable? I remember you went to Egypt during the summer. Didn't you forget to practice magic spells while traveling?"

"Of course." Ron proudly puffed out his chest, enjoying Hermione's praise.

As it turned out, not everyone practiced dueling during the holidays, but some did use some unusual means.

For example, Neville, during a duel with Seamus, threw out a small Biting Kale, which promptly bit into Seamus's shoulder.

Caught off guard, Seamus wailed, but fortunately, Neville had some white moss to treat the wound.

"I think you're trying to kill me," Seamus grumbled at Neville.

"Harry said magical plants are also a part of helping us in duels," Neville said confidently.

Harry really had said that, and actually applied it—in his first Christmas at school, everyone knew he attacked a professor with Biting Kale.

Of course, Quirrell had no objections, or else he would've protested by now.

With the addition of two and a half new members to the Dueling House, the atmosphere was more lively than usual—even if Miss Malfoy seemed unapproachable, the ever-pleasant and warm Miss Grindelwald made up for it wonderfully with everyone.
