Fidelia's voice dropped to a whisper.
"It's April," she said to Mia and Sera, her eyes fixed on her phone.
"What happened, April? You were talking to me, and then I lost you."
"I didn't have time to warn you," April's voice crackled faintly through the static. "My system isn't able to run at full capacity, it's incomplete. The only way I can fully function is if I have RAZEN: a cutting-edge technology. With that i can proceed with my upgrade."
"How do I get it?" Fidelia asked quickly.
"You can't… not yet. You'll have to buy it when it's released."
"Where? Where can I find it?"
"It'll be at hands of Flynn Hamilton a tech genius by next week after the deal is seal with the Shansong Corporation. You have to buy it from them before the deal is sealed…That's your only chance. I have to go now my power's shutting down. We'll talk tomorrow and by the… way—" Then the voice got cut all of a sudden.
'Shansong Corporation again' This was the second time she wss hearing the name of this company.
"April! April..shit she is gone again" Fidelia
Mia blinked. "Okay, Fidelia, what just happened? Who was that?"
"April," Fidelia said, setting her phone down. "She's an artificial intelligence. She's been helping me recently."
"She's your AI?" Mia asked, wide-eyed as she leaned forward.
"Well, technically, she's not mine. I… stole her." Fidelia gave a small, guilty smile.
"You what?" Sarah eyebrow rose up unable to conceal the shock.
"Calm down i just borrowed it from Andrian. Its no big deal"
Seeing the look on Mia's face, she quickly changed the subject. "Anyway—what's the good news?"
Mia's lips curved into a mischievous grin.
"You won't believe this." Mia pulled out her phone and started scrolling till her fingers stopped moving.
"The Carlson Corporation is taking a massive hit. Their entire company's in chaos. Angry mobs are gathering in front of their buildings—it's glorious. Take a look" She played a video and passed it to Fidelia.
Fidelia turned the phone around and watched the viideo footage which showed crowds surging outside glass skyscrapers, people holding signs, security guards forming barriers.
"Slow down," Fidelia said, laughing. "Tell me everything."
"Alright, listen. The new products they launched have serious flaws. Customer data's being leaked, the phones are crashing—it's a complete disaster. They're losing millions by the hour. And honestly?" Mia leaned back with a satisfied smile. "It feels good."
Fidelia smiled faintly. "Yeah… I'm enjoying it too. But this is just the beginning. I haven't even started."
As Mia and Sarah kept talking, Fidelia's mind drifted away.
'So Andrian's plan worked'
The files Silas had stolen from Richardson Tech were faulty all along and this was because Andrian knew a spy was in his company so he had another team conceal the main product.
So the incomplete product was given to Silas and they rushed and launched the product too soon without checking for flaws and now it had backfired spectacularly.
Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone buzzed again.
A familiar name appeared on the screen. Dad.
Mia and Sarah immediately noticed the shift in her expression. Fidelia hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Hello, Dad." Fidelia spoke but she heard nothing from him so she continued talking.
"I wasn't expecting your call," she said softly.
And then her father's voice finally came, it was deep but calm.
"I heard a lot has happened since I left. You left the house. You broke off the engagement. What's going on?"
Fidelia paused, then replied quietly,
"That's exactly how it is."
"Enough of all these. Come home now we need to talk ."
Fidelia exhaled slowly wondering if she should actually see him. And then she finally decided.
"I'll be there soon," she said before hanging up.
There's was a whole lot she wanted to unravel, unanswered questioned in her head most of it was what Nyra had said to her.
She had called Derek Crawford her father bastard and she could feel the rage in Nyra's eyes when she said those words.
'If you think Alice is worst… then her husband Derek is the Devil himself. He is the beginning of our tragedy. He caused every fucking thing'
Those were Nyra words to be exact now the question in her mind was.
Was he the one that caused her death?
