Chapter 1 - No one can explain this

It was 1:30 at night when Renji finally went to sleep. But little did he know that this would mark the beginning of a new storm in his life.

Waking up from his sleep, he reached for the door handle to leave his room—only to realize that he couldn't see his own hand. Panicked, he looked down at his body, but to his horror, he couldn't see any part of himself. Terrified, he ran towards his bed and saw his own body lying there, still and unmoving. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't wake himself up.

Overwhelmed with fear, he rushed downstairs to the kitchen, where his mother was. But no matter how much he called out to her, she couldn't hear him. She couldn't even see him. After that, without hesitation, he rushed toward the main gate of their house. As soon as he grabbed the handle, his hand passed right through the door. Before he could even process what was happening, he suddenly started falling—downward, endlessly—into a pitch-black void.

He kept falling, deeper and deeper, until a deafening scream jolted him awake. Gasping, he found himself inside his mother's body. The sheer terror of the situation made his heart pound. But before he could react, another loud, piercing scream rang in his ears.

This time, he woke up lying on a railway track. His breath caught in his throat as he saw a train speeding toward him at full force. Frozen in fear, he could do nothing as the train slammed into him—

And then, he woke up again.

Renji now had no idea what was happening to him. Was he trapped in a nightmare? Was this reality shifting around him? His mind raced with fear and confusion. No matter how many times he woke up, the horror never seemed to end.

Was he even alive anymore? Or was he stuck in an endless cycle of terror?

Just like before, Renji's consciousness jolted awake—only to find himself inside yet another body. This time, he realized he was in the body of a notorious criminal.

This cycle kept repeating. Again and again, he woke up in different bodies, experiencing lives that weren't his own. It must have happened nearly a thousand times, each more terrifying than the last.

And then, finally, he truly woke up. But as he looked down at himself, his breath caught in his throat. His body… wasn't his own anymore. It had completely changed.

Renji looked at his reflection, his heart pounding in disbelief. His body was now short and unnaturally thin, almost frail. His head was disproportionately large, with round, expressionless eyes that felt eerily empty. His face had lost its natural softness, now sharp and circle, as if sculpted with precision. His once-flowing hair had become short and stiff, giving him an almost mechanical appearance. He was no longer human. He looked more like a robot—an artificial being trapped in a body that wasn't his.

Yet, amidst all these changes, one thing remained the same—his voice. It was still his own, echoing through this unfamiliar shell. Renji ran to his mother, but what he saw made him question reality itself.

Sitting at the table, having breakfast with his mother, was a boy who looked exactly like him—identical in every way. The moment his mother saw him, she screamed in terror and reached for the phone to call the police.

But before she could dial, the identical version of Renji—the one sitting at the table—spoke calmly, "There's no need to worry, Mom. I know exactly what this thing is." Then that existence walked up to Renji, leaned in close, and whispered,

"Do exactly as I say, or prison will be the only fate waiting for you." Renji's mother, overwhelmed with fear, screamed and yelled at the figure that looked exactly like her son.

"Renji! What are you doing? Get away from him!"

Trying to control the situation, the identical figure turned to her and spoke calmly.

"Mom, didn't I tell you yesterday that one of my friend's fathers builds strange-looking robots? This is one of them. I brought it home last night."

Then, the real Renji, his voice heavy and distorted, spoke for the first time. "Yes… I am… Robot 006." Hearing this, the identical Renji smirked and said, "See? It even sounds exactly like me."

Renji's mother let out a sigh of relief but still looked uneasy

"Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?!" she demanded, her voice still shaking.

The figure led Renji back to his room and, right before his eyes, revealed its true form.

Standing before him was a stunning girl with vibrant pink hair and piercing pink eyes. She radiated an otherworldly presence, something beyond human.

Renji stared in shock and demanded, "Who are you?! What's happening to me? Where is my real body?!"

The girl looked at Renji with a calm yet intense gaze and said, "My name is Mizuki Ayasaka. I am not a human—I am a magical spirit. You and I share a spiritual contract, and because of that, I must protect you at all costs." Renji frowned, still struggling to process everything. "Alright… but why is my body like this? What happened to me?" he asked, his voice filled with confusion and frustration. Mizuki looked at Renji and spoke,

"The truth is… I came from another world. No one really knows whether our worlds exist in the same universe or in entirely different realities. But the world I come from… is a world where magic exists."

Renji's eyes narrowed as he tried to make sense of her words.

"And what does that have to do with my body?" he asked. Mizuki looked at Renji seriously and continued,

"Your father was originally a hero from my world. He fought against the Demon Lord and, after defeating him, escaped to this world. But before he died, he transferred all his magical power to you. Even before that, you already had an immense amount of magical mana within you. And that's why Demon Lord Drazeth sees you as a threat…"

Renji shook his head, still struggling to believe what he was hearing. "But… I don't have any magical power," he said. "I've never used magic in my life!"

Mizuki sighed and replied, "That's because magic doesn't exist in this world—only the lingering impact of extremely powerful magic does. That's why you've never been able to use it here."

Then, brushing off the tension, she added, "Anyway, enough talking. Let's go to my world now!" Renji hesitated and looked toward the door.

"But… What about my mom? She'll be worried sick if I suddenly disappear," he said, concern evident in his voice. Mizuki smirked and said, "I've already left a magical clone of you in this world. Your mother won't suspect a thing."

Before Renji could respond, a bright light engulfed them—

And in the blink of an eye, they teleported to Mizuki's world. Mizuki held Renji's hand firmly and said,

"Listen… You are actually your father's successor. That means you are a hero of this world."

Renji hesitated, looking down at his transformed body.

"But… I can't just walk around like this. I look like a demon," he said anxiously.

Mizuki smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. I'll take care of that."

With a swift motion, she cast a shape-shifting spell on Renji. A soft glow surrounded him, and within moments, his appearance changed—he now looked completely human again.

"There you go," Mizuki said. "Now, no one will suspect a thing."

Mizuki led Renji to the Adventurers' Guild, a massive hall bustling with warriors, mages, and explorers.

As they approached the front desk, the receptionist greeted them with a polite smile and handed Renji a form.

"You'll need to fill this out," she said. "List the spells you can cast and any magic you specialize in."

Renji glanced at the form, but before he could say anything, Mizuki quickly interrupted.

"He hasn't awakened his magical power yet," she stated firmly. The receptionist raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Then he'll need to go through an awakening test first." Renji nodded silently. The receptionist took out a transparent, ball-shaped magical crystal and placed it on the counter. "Put your hand on this," she instructed. "Try to feel your magical aura. If you have magic within you, the crystal will react." Renji hesitated for a moment, then slowly placed his hand on the crystal…

But nothing happened. The crystal remained completely unchanged, showing no sign of reaction.

Renji frowned. "Did… did I do something wrong?"

Mizuki narrowed her eyes. "No… this isn't normal. It seems like your magical power has been sealed."

Without hesitation, she raised her hand and chanted a spell. A faint glow surrounded Renji as she cast an Anti-Seal Spell on him.

Renji put his hand on the crystal again and…

The room fell silent as the shards of the crystal scattered across the table.

The receptionist's eyes widened in shock. "T-The crystal… broke?!"

Mizuki smirked. "Looks like his magic isn't just powerful—it's completely off the charts."

Renji stared at his hand, feeling a strange warmth coursing through his body. "What… just happened?"

The other adventurers in the guild started murmuring among themselves, some looking at Renji with awe, others with suspicion.

The receptionist's eyes widened in shock. "W-What just happened?"

Renji scratched his head. "Uh… I think I messed something up?"

Mizuki quickly shook her head. "Nooo, you're just insanely overpowered! Normally, when someone places their hand on the crystal, it glows in only one color. But in your case, all the colors appeared at once!"

Renji frowned. "Does the color determine the type of magic power?"

The receptionist nodded. "It seems like you don't know much about magic. So far, we've only seen the crystal glow in 8 different colors."

Saying this, she handed Renji a list. But as he looked at it, he realized he couldn't read a single word.

Noticing his confusion, Mizuki secretly cast a communication spell on him. Since Renji was from another world, Mizuki knew that if people found out, he could be in danger. The spell ensured he could understand the language without raising suspicion.

Renji looked at the paper again. It listed 6 types of magic glow, describing them as follows:

1. Red Glow – Fire Magic (Common Magic)

2. Blue Glow – Water Magic (Common Magic)

3. Green Glow – Plant/Nature Magic (Uncommon Magic)

4. Brown Glow – Earth & Gravity Magic (Uncommon Magic)

5. Orange Glow – Lightning Magic (Uncommon Magic)

6. Blue Glow with White Jagged Lines – Wind Magic (Common Magic)

Note: Aside from these, there are also some general magic abilities that all magic users can use to some extent, such as Purifying Magic, Illusion Magic, Communication Magic, and Hypnotic Magic.

Renji said, "But… there's nothing written about the other two glows."

The receptionist hesitated before replying, "T-That's because… those are considered extremely rare. It is believed that only two people awaken those types of magic every 100 years." Renji asked, "What kind of magic are those?"

Mizuki replied, "The 7th glow is White Glow, which represents Light & Time Magic. But as for the 8th glow… even I don't know anything about it."

The receptionist said, "I noticed something… For a brief moment, the crystal turned black." Renji's eyes widened. "Does that mean… I have all types of magic power inside me?" The receptionist shook her head. "No… it's not that simple."

The receptionist took a deep breath and said, "This has never happened before… We need to report this to the Guild Master immediately."

Renji said, "Please don't do this. I don't want to attract people's attention." Before the receptionist could say anything, the Guild Master arrived and said, "I've seen everything." The Guild Master's gaze was firm as he continued, "In my guild, no fake rankers are allowed. You cannot hide your abilities from us. However…"

He leaned slightly forward, his eyes sharp. "If you wish to keep them hidden from other adventurers, you may submit a formal request to the guild."

The receptionist, still shaken by what had just happened, quickly nodded. "That might be the best option for you," she added.

Renji asked, "But how do I do that?"

The Guild Master smirked. "For you, this much is enough."

With that, he turned to the receptionist and said, "Rika Aihara, register a B-rank guild card for him." The receptionist, Rika, looked surprised. "B-rank? But… he hasn't even taken the entrance test yet."

The Guild Master's expression remained firm. "Did you already forget? He just shattered a high-tier magical crystal. That alone proves he's far beyond rookie level."

Rika hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Understood!" She quickly grabbed a blank guild card and began the registration process.

Two hours later, Mizuki took Renji to a hotel for the night. As they entered, Renji looked around the cozy yet elegant interior. The warm glow of lanterns illuminated the wooden walls, and the scent of freshly cooked food filled the air. Mizuki walked up to the receptionist and said, "We need a room for the night." The receptionist smiled and handed her a key. "Room 207. Enjoy your stay!" Mizuki led Renji upstairs, and as they entered the room, Renji let out a sigh. "Finally… some rest."

Then… Renji looked at the single bed and hesitated. "But… how are we both supposed to sleep in one bed?"

Mizuki smiled casually. "No problem. I can merge into you."

Renji's eyes widened. "Wait… what do you mean? Does that mean you've been inside me this whole time?"

Mizuki gave a creepy smile and nodded. "Yes, Renji, you're absolutely right." Renji's face turned red with embarrassment. After all, Mizuki was a girl, and the thought made him extremely flustered. Mizuki chuckled. "Since we have a spiritual contract, I can't stay too far from you. If I do… I'll die."

Renji said, "Can you tell me more details about your existence?"

Mizuki said, "It's really late now. I'll tell you in the morning."

Saying this, she merged into Renji's body and disappeared.
