Vaguely, I remember around seven years ago, when I was fifteen and still 'friendly' with Megan, we both sat in the Deor garden, making another diabolical plan of ours. Probably to frighten a young Lord from all social circles till his debut.
Suddenly, Megan's blind golden eyes glowed.
I stared at her for a very long and hard time as she resumed the conversation we were having, as if she hadn't just seen a vision of the future.
But as always, I didn't ask Megan anything about it. If I did, she'd only revel in the satisfaction that I needed her powers. She'd think that she was superior to me in some way.
"Have you ever wondered..." she picked up a new subject for conversation, withholding information about her vision. "... if you weren't the only one reborn into this world? You weren't the only special one?"
The question had been unexpected. I analyzed Megan's expression then took in how many lies I'd be spinning in my reply.
