Chapter 109 - Chapter 108 - The Trident War

All the pressure disappeared with her words; Cadmus looked at the woman with a satisfied look. He liked to be more political on these occasions, but only the strong are respected, especially before a member of a magical academy with thousands of years.

Remembering something, Cadmus introduced himself with a beautiful smile, as if he hadn't just coerced the beautiful woman before him. "I am Cadmus Peverell, Lord of Harrenhal and Court Mage of King Rhaegar."

"Triss Merigold, a mage specializing in potions and alchemical items. I'm also good with fire magic and plants." The mage didn't dare to show any dissatisfaction and also introduced herself.

"Oh, a mage capable of producing potions. I also specialize in potions." Cadmus feigned surprise; he certainly knew who Triss was and whose friend Triss had spoken of earlier. At the same time, he was quite curious about the difference in potions between the two magical civilizations.

The potions of the Harry Potter universe could be considered of the highest caliber, even capable of manipulating luck and death. He didn't know if the potion system of The Witcher world was as advanced as his.

Triss was surprised by Cadmus's words; she looked at the handsome mage before her and never imagined that he specialized in potion making. Although potions were valuable and brought a lot of money, it was an extremely expensive profession for apprentices.

Therefore, it became somewhat rare to find a mage specializing in potions.

"May I see a potion vial of yours?" Cadmus asked with a smile; it was as if he had never mistreated Triss. If it weren't for her pale face and sweat on her clothes, perhaps Triss would believe he was just a handsome mage.

Giving a forced laugh, she took a potion from her bag and handed it to Cadmus, who took it without any hesitation. Looking at the small vial, a little larger than a thumb, but made of ceramic, he couldn't help but be curious.

He opened the cork and drank a little of the liquid inside the vial. His mastery of potions made him analyze the materials used in the potion. After tasting the flavors, Cadmus seemed a little disappointed, but not too much.

The purity of the potion was lamentable; the ingredients were not perfectly purified or cooked, and the absorption rate was about 30%. Cadmus immediately knew the level of potions in this world. Due to the lack of certain equipment, the potions were relatively effective, but only that. The properties of the materials did not mix perfectly due to low purity.

"High concentrations of impurities in the ingredients; you failed to perfectly fuse them all, which drastically reduced the potion's effectiveness and the body's absorption rate." Cadmus commented casually, after sensing it was a stamina-boosting potion.

"Honestly, if it weren't for actually being able to increase someone's stamina, this potion would be a total failure. The summary of the potion is low to medium quality." Cadmus concluded calmly. Looking at Triss's wide eyes and the hidden anger in them, he shrugged indifferently.

He found her reaction quite normal; anyone would be furious hearing someone criticize their work that made them famous. Triss wanting to devour his flesh and drink his blood was perfectly normal.

However, Cadmus provided proof that her potion was as he had said; he simply threw one of his potions.

Triss held the glass vial and looked at the clear, crystalline liquid with a stiff and incredulous expression. Her hands trembled as she removed the cork and drank. The mage's face darkened the instant she tasted it.

She wasn't dissatisfied with the taste, but because Cadmus's words were right. The taste of her potion was terrible compared to what she had just drunk. The most incredible thing was that her allergy to potions didn't appear as she would have imagined.

"What do you think?" Showing a smug look, Cadmus crossed his legs and asked, looking at Triss with an amused gaze. It was as if he expected her praise and flattery.

Seeing his arrogant face, Triss wanted to punch that diabolically handsome face, but, remembering the difference in strength, she retracted her fist and took a deep breath, trying to calm her extremely turbulent heart. There was still shock and disbelief in her gaze.

Cadmus's potion was too incredible in her eyes. There were almost no impurities, which was impossible, as the processes of fermentation, liquefaction, and vaporization simply could not extract all impurities during the potion-making process.

"Simply incredible; my potion is like horse piss compared to yours." Despite her beautiful appearance, Triss spoke very vulgarly. But there was a touch of happiness in her voice. She discovered from Cadmus's words that her allergy to potions was because the potion's purity was too low and her body reacted more violently than with ordinary people.

"If you're bored, come to Harrenhal. I'm curious about Aretuza's potion-making process." Cadmus offered an invitation without any hesitation. Although Aretuza's manufacturing process was rustic and even somewhat primitive, it had some strengths. For example, even with low purity, the potion still managed to take effect, which, in the Harry Potter universe, was somewhat unreal.

Given that making a potion in the Harry Potter universe was an extremely delicate process, any wrong gram, cooking time, or even the wrong time to add ingredients could explode all the equipment.

Cadmus solved many of these problems using Muggle chemistry, which perfected the process, so it was much safer and definitely wouldn't make the cauldron explode by getting an ingredient wrong.

Again, Cadmus felt that Dumbledore owed him a medal for being Hogwarts' best interdimensional student!

Honestly, Triss felt happy with Cadmus's invitation; the man was a Grand Master in potions, magic, and perhaps other things, he was practically a walking library. And, for any mage, knowledge was more valuable than anything else.

"I'm late to see my lovely wife, so I'll have to say goodbye, Miss Merigold." Cadmus felt he was satisfied with the conversation and stood up. "Remember to send a letter asking to enter my territory."

Triss forced a smile and nodded, feeling that talking to Cadmus was somewhat stressful. The man could smile as naturally as he could get angry, changing his expression as if changing his face.

In that sense, even Triss, who was a woman, felt a little admiration for Cadmus's volatile personality. She herself was not as intense as this handsome mage.

Suddenly, to Triss's surprise, she saw Cadmus being sucked into something and disappearing with a loud, sharp pop.

"Spatial Magic? But using one's own body in conjunction with one's own magic?" Triss murmured with a confused and somewhat surprised look. It was the first time she had seen spatial magic like that, and even without knowing the spell itself, she knew it was quite dangerous.

Harrenhal Castle.

Cadmus appeared in the castle and found himself in the castle garden. He looked at the marble dome in the center of the garden and saw Daenerys feeding Balerion and Caraxes. Both dragons were much larger than they should be.

They were the size of a horse and looked especially fierce, especially with the meat thrown by Daenerys. Both dragons threatened to bite each other and let out furious roars.

Potions accelerated the growth of the dragons. Cadmus presumed that, in two months, both dragons would be six meters, ready to be ridden.

(Note: it usually takes about a year to grow to six meters, if the dragon has enough freedom. At least that's what the Wiki says.)

Caraxes naturally noticed Cadmus's arrival through the bond, but, before he could approach, a black shadow advanced towards Cadmus, landing elegantly on the court mage's shoulder.

"Husband." Daenerys finally noticed Cadmus and approached, hugging her husband's waist as she stood on tiptoes, while showing her lips.

Cadmus laughed and kissed her lips with a gentle kiss and caressed her cheek with a touch of tenderness. "Did anything happen while I was away?"

Daenerys shook her head and brought Cadmus to the marble dome. "Nothing happened in the castle, although I hired dozens of maidservants and servants to manage the castle. We need a Master-at-Arms and a Chaplain, as well as a notary."

Cadmus nodded and felt satisfied not to deal with these things. "I'll leave everything in your hands."

"Tell me everything that happened in Riverrun." Daenerys said with a tone full of expectation.

Cadmus smiled and began to tell what happened.
