Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Fantasy

"Mew, it's really Mew!"

Jack was overjoyed, so excited he nearly jumped. This was a Legendary Pokémon, possessing the genetic code of all Pokémon. Because it could become invisible at will, it wouldn't be detected even when close to humans. And because it could use all Pokémon moves, many scholars believed it to be the ancestor of Pokémon.

"Ding! Successfully captured the Legendary Pokémon Mew. Please select one skill to be your own."

In Jack's mind, the system notification suddenly chimed, and at the same time, a system panel, visible only to him, popped up before his eyes.

**Mythical Pokémon: Mew**

- **Gender:** None

- **Ability:** Synchronize (Transfers its poisoned, paralyzed, or burned status to the opponent)

- **Held Item:** Lum Berry (When held, if the Pokémon becomes confused, it will use this item to cure both status and Confusion)

**Skills as follows:**

- **Earthquake:** The ground shakes.

- **Mega Punch:** Strikes the opponent with a powerful punch.

- **Ancient Power:** 10% chance to double its own power.

- **Aura Sphere:** Generates Aura Power from within and fires it at the opponent. The attack is guaranteed to hit.

- **Future Sight:** Releases a burst of Confusion that attacks the enemy at a certain moment in the future.

Mew had many skills, a string of powerful ones that dazzled Jack. But Jack didn't hesitate when choosing a skill. Without a word, he said directly in his mind: "I choose Mew's Transform skill."

The next second, Jack felt as if he had transformed into a Pokémon, and an extra skill appeared in his mind. Looking at Mew, Jack's lips gradually curved upwards. This seemingly unflashy skill was a divine skill to him. Being able to transform into any Pokémon and use all of their skills meant that by transforming into Mew, he would possess all skills.

Three seconds later, the original Mew tilted its head, and the moment it saw Jack transform into one of its kind, it was startled, retracting its head slightly. After a while, it seemed to accept Jack's transformation into its kind and floated curiously to Jack's side.

"Meow" — Are you a human or one of my kind?

After transforming into Mew, Jack could also understand Mew's Growl.

"Meow" — I am human, but from now on, you can also treat me as one of your kind. We will share blessings and hardships together.

Jack, with a Mew-like face, grinned and built a good relationship with his first divine pet.

"Meow" — But how did you, a human, manage to transform?

Hearing this, Jack pondered for a moment and then bluffed directly: "Meow" — Because I am not an ordinary human. I have divine power. Otherwise, how could you have been caught by me with just one Poké Ball?

"Meow" — Divine power? Master, you are amazing.

Mew paused, then, being naive, it actually believed him. It floated around Jack, wanting Jack to go play with it.

"Meow" — Master, let's go play. I know a place with delicious berries.

"Meow" — Not yet. We need to earn some money first before we go.

Jack shook his head.

"Meow" — Mew, I don't have much money right now. All our future expenses will depend on you transforming into a Pidgey later to battle others for me. If we win, we'll have money to spend."

Coming to this world, besides a backpack and a mobile phone with three thousand dollars stored in it, he had nothing else. If he didn't quickly find a way to earn some money, he feared he would starve to death on the way to catching a Legendary Pokémon.

"Meow" — Master, I don't want to fight.

Mew's face was full of reluctance; it hated fighting.

"Meow" — You don't have to beat other people's Pokémon half to death. You just need to make them lose their fighting ability. You know Hypnosis, right? After transforming into a Pidgey, with your strength, one Hypnosis move, no one in this place will be able to withstand it.

"Meow" — Okay, Master.

Mew was persuaded, and the next second, it voluntarily transformed into a Pidgey. Seeing this, Jack also changed back to his original appearance, letting Mew flutter and fly onto his shoulder.

One person and one bird walked towards New Bark Town.

At this time, there were many players in New Bark Town who shared Jack's thoughts. After receiving their Original Three Starters, they were all confident that they could command Pokémon better than others, so they challenged people one after another, with stakes mostly between one hundred and five hundred.

"Two thousand per match! Is anyone willing to battle me? I accept reverse-type challenges. My Pokémon is a Fire-type."

On the lawn of New Bark Town, a young man leaned against a tree and shouted. Before long, the young man's words immediately attracted many onlookers.

"Are you sure you accept reverse-type challenges?" a young woman frowned. Currently, most player challenges were same-type challenges, meaning a Grass-type Chikorita battling a Chikorita, a Fire-type Cyndaquil battling a Cyndaquil, and a Water-type Totodile battling a Totodile.

No one was willing to use a Grass-type against a Fire-type, a Fire-type against a Water-type, or a Water-type against a Grass-type, because that was like being a money-giving child.

"Of course, if I lose, I'll transfer the money immediately. If I'm lying, you can do whatever you want with me," the young man said with a smile, holding out his phone.

As soon as he said this, most of the onlookers immediately scrambled to be the first to "eat the crab," while only a few were annoyed that this "money-giving child" wasn't a Water-type Pokémon, so their Grass-types could also participate.

Finally, the young man chose the young woman who had just spoken to him.

"Come out, Totodile!" The young woman who was chosen immediately released her Pokémon without hesitation. A red light shot out from the Poké Ball, and a mischievous Totodile made a dazzling appearance.

"Wali! Wali! Waliwa!"

After coming out, Totodile hopped and skipped around its owner in circles. The young woman hugged it, then turned to face the young man: "Hurry and bring out your Pokémon."

The young man smiled slightly, took out his Poké Ball from his waist, and a red light flashed, revealing a Pokémon that surprised everyone.

"Come out! Typhlosion!"

A Pokémon with flames erupting from its neck and standing upright appeared. As soon as it appeared, the surrounding temperature immediately became several degrees hotter. Everyone stared at it, stunned. The young woman opposite was the most surprised.
