Liu Xi's gaze shifted past him to Zhao Yuanyuan, who stood nearby looking nervous yet hopeful. This entire operation had been her doing. If Liu Xi couldn't pay the balance, she would be the one to suffer the consequences.
"How much are we short?" Liu Xi asked with a faint smile.
Fu Hua's eyes brightened, and he laughed. "The young master's trust honors us. To be frank, the items you provided were valued at two hundred twenty-four billion Heavenly Sovereign Spiritual Liquid. The total cost of the resources you ordered comes to two hundred forty-seven billion. After rounding off, that's a difference of twenty-three billion."
"Understood."
Liu Xi raised his hand, and the Xumi Ring upon his finger glowed brightly. A vast, glittering torrent of Heavenly Sovereign Spiritual Liquid burst forth, filling the sky like a dazzling silver river of stars.

He waved his hand, and attendants quickly brought forward a Xumi Ring—carried by Zhao Yuanyuan herself.
While the others stared hungrily at the celestial river above, her gaze never left Liu Xi. She knew very well which was more valuable—the gold egg, or the hen that laid it.
Liu Xi didn't spare her a glance. Accepting the Xumi Ring, he sent his Spiritual Perception inside to inspect it carefully.
This concerned the final materials for refining the Emperor Pill—a task that would determine the success or failure of everything he'd planned. He would allow no mistakes.
