"Nine-Leaf Celestial Lotus — currently, Mister Mo Jie has bid thirty million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid. Anyone willing to go higher? This is a sacred-grade cultivation treasure. By absorbing its refined Spiritual Energy, one can gain years' worth of progress comparable to that of an Earth Sovereign's cultivation. If refined into a Spiritual Pill, its effect would be even greater! Such a rare treasure should not be missed!"
On the brightly lit stage, an elderly auctioneer with white hair and beard passionately introduced the radiant white lotus within a crystal glass box held by his attendant.
The lotus was immaculate, its nine leaves emitting dense Spiritual Energy fluctuations and a soft, lasting fragrance. Merely inhaling it caused one's energy to circulate faster — proof of its potency. Even an Earth Sovereign could benefit significantly from absorbing it.
"Thirty-five million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid!"
A firm voice rose from the crowd, increasing the bid by five million. The speaker's tone carried strong determination, clearly intent on winning.
"Thirty-six million!"
Another contender joined, raising the bid by one million, though his tone lacked the confidence of the previous bidder.
"Forty million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid!"
Mo Jie's cold voice sounded again, his eyes sweeping the hall with chilling indifference — a silent threat.
As expected, the atmosphere froze. Mo Jie was a powerful High Earth Sovereign and a regional tyrant. Competing with him not only risked losing a fortune but also earning his future wrath. He had long been trapped at the threshold of the Perfect Earth Sovereign realm, desperate for this Nine-Leaf Celestial Lotus to break through.
"Fifty million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid!"
A calm, clear voice echoed suddenly, raising the bid by a full ten million — close to the lotus's expected ceiling price.
"Who dares—! You dare oppose me, have you considered—"
Before Mo Jie could finish his furious outburst, a figure walked leisurely out from the back corridor. Liu Xi.
The bidder was none other than him.
The purity of the Nine-Leaf Celestial Lotus made it a perfect cultivation resource, and Liu Xi had bid decisively, adding ten million directly to show his resolve.
Mo Jie, however, fell silent the instant he saw the man following behind Liu Xi — Old Monster Xuan Pao, whose cold gaze locked onto him like a predator. Mo Jie felt his heart seize, his soul trembling uncontrollably.
"A Perfect Earth Sovereign…" he muttered, his face pale. It was the very realm he sought, now standing before him in flesh.
Every gaze in the hall turned toward Liu Xi. He smiled faintly and spoke, his tone light yet carrying an unmistakable authority.
"Auctioneer, if no one else bids, can we declare that this Nine-Leaf Celestial Lotus belongs to me?"
The white-haired auctioneer, though startled by the presence of a Perfect Earth Sovereign, quickly nodded. "Is there anyone else willing to offer more? If not…"
The hall was silent. The lotus had already reached its estimated limit. After a brief pause, the auctioneer struck the gavel. "Very well, the Nine-Leaf Celestial Lotus goes to this new gentleman!"
Applause followed. Liu Xi, guided by attendants, was invited to a premium seat near the front. After he sat down with Bodhisattva beside him, Old Monster Xuan Pao took his place at the side, his chilling aura silencing the room.
Those who had been curious immediately looked away. Whispers rose quietly. No one could identify Liu Xi's cultivation, but to have a Perfect Earth Sovereign serve as a retainer — such a man was no ordinary figure.
As for Mo Jie, he had completely wilted, trembling in fear. Moments ago, he'd dared to challenge; now, he prayed to leave alive.
The auctioneer, regaining his rhythm, clapped his hands. Another attendant brought forth the next item — a silver tray holding an ancient scroll.
"Mid-Tier Saint Artifact — Map of Mountains and Rivers! Within this scroll lies a vast world of ten thousand li. In battle, one can trap opponents inside, where the might of the mountains and rivers themselves will suppress them — guaranteeing victory!"
'It can defend sect gates or serve as a lethal weapon in the field — an extraordinary artifact no cultivator should let fall into enemy hands."
"Starting price: one hundred fifty million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid. Each raise no less than ten million!"
The words had barely left his mouth before the crowd erupted.
"Two hundred million Sovereign Spiritual Liquid!" shouted one bidder, boldly raising by fifty million — a High Earth Sovereign, judging by his aura.
"Two hundred ten million!" another followed, carefully adding the minimum.
"Two hundred twenty million!"
"Two hundred fifty million!"
Prices rose in waves, the atmosphere ablaze with fervor.
Liu Xi observed calmly, studying the scroll on the tray. A faint spatial fluctuation lingered around it — just as the auctioneer described, a pocket dimension where enemies could be sealed and crushed by the power of mountains and rivers.
It was indeed a formidable tool for most, but for him? Too limited.
To a Perfect Earth Sovereign, it might prove troublesome; but for Liu Xi, who could already rival such beings, it was hardly a threat. A Heavenly Sovereign could shatter it outright.
"No further bids?" the auctioneer asked cautiously. "Then the Map of Mountains and Rivers goes to Realman Zi Long!"
The named cultivator finally exhaled, relief and gratitude flooding his face. He bowed slightly toward Liu Xi and the audience. "Many thanks, fellow daoists, for yielding."
"No need to thank us," a mocking voice sneered. "Realman Zi Long, your wealth is impressive — just make sure you live long enough to use it."
The speaker's eyes gleamed with menace.
"Hmph! Save your concern, Toad Demon Old Ghost," Zi Long snapped back.
The tension rose again — but the auction continued.
One treasure after another appeared: weapons, pills, scrolls — none caught Liu Xi's attention. Until—
Boom!
Four burly men, their muscles like steel cords, heaved a massive chunk of black ore onto the stage. It landed with a thunderous thud, shaking the entire platform.
Even at a glance, it radiated a weight and density that made the air tremble. The four carriers, each a 5th Grade Sovereign, were drenched in sweat.
The crowd's chatter halted.
Even Liu Xi's gaze sharpened.
This ore… was no ordinary stone.
