In the endless depths of the void, the new Ancient Dragon Island stood suspended—a vast landmass encircled by a shimmering barrier of light that separated it completely from the raging spatial storms outside.
Atop a mist-shrouded peak within the island, Liu Xi sat cross-legged on a stone bed, hands forming cultivation seals as he entered a deep meditative state. Wisps of milky-white energy swirled around the mountain, flowing into his body with each breath. After circulating through his meridians, the energy was refined into pure Dou Qi that nourished his flesh.
Liu Xi had been unconscious for three full days after slaying Huang Tian. Since waking, a month had quietly passed.
During that battle, he had unleashed his Dou Qi recklessly, burning through his reserves entirely. The damage wasn't fatal, but his energy recovery was slow. Only through quiet recuperation could his body restore its balance and return to peak condition without harming his foundation.
Now, this newly forged Ancient Dragon Island was the merged form of the former East, West, South, and North Dragon Islands. After the deaths of the North Dragon King and Huang Tian, both Liu Xi and Zi Yan had fallen unconscious. Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin had carried them back to the East Dragon Island for recovery, taking the two corpses along as well.
Though the North Dragon King was of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe, his countless crimes left him despised by all—none would bury him in the Dragon Tomb. Huang Tian, as the Tribe Leader of the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe, had fallen even lower, scorned by all and regarded as Liu Xi's rightful spoils of war. The Ancient Void Dragons, intentionally or not, completely cast both of them aside.
Once Liu Xi and Zi Yan were confirmed to be out of danger, the tribe held a brief council. Half of them guarded the two while returning to East Dragon Island; the others gathered the North Dragon Island's survivors and, through immense effort, shifted the remains of the North Island itself beside the East.
Thus, the four islands united once more as a single Ancient Dragon Island. After thousands of years of internal chaos, the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe was finally whole again.
When Zi Yan awoke, she discovered an unexpected breakthrough opportunity from her ordeal and immediately entered seclusion. Her chances of stepping into the 5-Star Dou Saint realm were exceedingly high.
Now, atop the same peak, Liu Xi slowly opened his eyes. His gaze shone like the stars—deep, vast, and filled with a quiet might that resembled the boundless night sky.
He raised a hand and lightly clenched his fist. Without even exerting force, the surrounding space distorted violently. Endless power surged from within him—stronger than ever before.
"My Dou Qi's more condensed… not far from the late 4-Star stage. A bit more effort, and I'll break through. As for the next matter…"
Before finishing, Liu Xi flicked his sleeve. Two streaks of light shot out and landed heavily upon the ground. As the glow faded, two corpses appeared—one with its chest pierced through and its neck nearly severed, a monstrous head with three faces drooping lifelessly on its shoulders; the other with a gaping wound through its throat, its head barely attached.
They were none other than the North Dragon King and Huang Tian—former allies in treachery, now reduced to cold, lifeless husks in Liu Xi's possession.
Liu Xi had no intention of wasting such rare materials.
His gaze fell first on the North Dragon King's corpse. The enormous body, still muscular and dense with power, was perfect for crafting a Heavenly Demon Puppet.
"Under normal circumstances, the North Dragon King was certainly at the 6-Star Dou Saint level," Liu Xi murmured. "If not for the Dragon Seal suppressing his bloodline, the outcome of our battle might've been very different."
He nodded to himself—yes, this was indeed top-grade puppet material. Once refined, it would become a true killing machine.
His eyes then shifted to Huang Tian's body. A flicker of cold disdain flashed within them. "Heaven may spare a natural disaster, but not self-inflicted sin. I hadn't planned to kill you outright, yet you insisted on seeking death. Fine—then you'll both serve as my Heavenly Demon Puppets."
Opening his mouth, Liu Xi released a stream of azure flames. The fire split into two and enveloped both corpses, seeping inward to begin their tempering.
Since his deeper fusion with the Heavenly Flame, his control over it had grown immensely. If his previous synchronization had been at one hundred percent, now it exceeded one hundred and twenty.
Under his direction, the azure flame infiltrated the corpses from skin to bone, burning away all impurities.
Sizzling sounds filled the air as blood mist rose. The bodies began to change—their skin paled, their muscles shrank and condensed.
Though the North Dragon King had been a 6-Star Dou Saint and Huang Tian a 5-Star, even Liu Xi's Heavenly Flame could not complete their refinement swiftly. It would take time. Fortunately, this mist-veiled mountaintop was perfectly isolated; since Liu Xi's recovery, no one dared disturb his work.
Half a month passed in silence. When it ended, Liu Xi's energy was full once again. The North Dragon King's massive frame had shrunk by half, his pale flesh gleaming faintly, exuding an even more intimidating aura.
Truly worthy of the Ancient Void Dragon lineage—even in death, he radiated oppressive might. Liu Xi's refining process had also purified the chaotic bloodlines the North Dragon King had stolen from the slain West and South Dragon Kings, leaving behind only pristine dragon essence.
Huang Tian's transformation was similar—his body shrunken yet hardened, even more durable than when alive.
Liu Xi suddenly smiled faintly. "You've come this far—why not stand up and take a few steps for me?"
As his words fell, both corpses jerked upright and stood. Their eyes snapped open, brimming with venomous hatred as they glared at Liu Xi.
The North Dragon King sneered. "You didn't destroy this King's soul. That's your greatest mistake. Go to hell and regret it there!"
Huang Tian laughed wildly. "Once I kill you, this Saint will use your body to be reborn—and with your face, I'll get close to that new Dragon Emperor and devour her whole!"
"Heh…" Liu Xi chuckled coldly, fingers weaving new seals. Instantly, azure flames erupted within both bodies, and shrill screams of agony filled the peak as their lingering souls were torn apart.
Destroying a Dou Saint completely was difficult, but Liu Xi had intentionally left fragments of their souls intact. The Heavenly Demon Puppet technique alone was too rigid. In an ancient ruin, he had obtained a more sinister art—the Human Puppet Method—which allowed a puppet to retain its former battle instincts and Dou Techniques.
Normally, he wouldn't use such a method. But for these two? To imprison their wretched souls eternally within their own corpses—Liu Xi felt no guilt at all.
Moments later, the two bodies collapsed again. Liu Xi began the final stage—melting rare ores, precious metals, and divine weapons collected over years, merging them into the puppets' forms to strengthen their durability and power.
Ten days later, he bit his fingertip, letting two drops of blood fall onto the puppets' foreheads. The blood sank in, and moments later, faint glimmers of awareness appeared in their hollow eyes.
Both knelt before him and spoke in unison, voices hollow yet resolute:
"Master!"
Liu Xi examined them and frowned slightly. "One early 5-Star Dou Saint, one late 5-Star Dou Saint… acceptable. They can still grow stronger by devouring lightning energy."
He thought for a moment, then smiled. "You'll be called Ah Long… and you, Ah Huang."
