Chapter 476 - Chapter 476: The Uprising of Souls

The moment Xiao Yan entered the massive black hall, Liu Xi began to move as well. A faint, almost undetectable shadow—drifting along the edge of the battlefield—quietly slipped toward the black hall.

Inside, countless thick soul chains stretched in every direction, each one binding thousands upon thousands of imprisoned souls. The scene was ghastly—an ocean of pale faces twisting in silent agony.

Lurking in the darkness, Liu Xi did not intervene. Instead, he continued down the winding corridor, following the faint trace of the soul mark he had planted on Xiao Yan.

The Hall's maze-like passages branched in all directions. Along every corridor, enormous black chains pierced through the walls, restraining tens of thousands of wailing souls. Yet Liu Xi's expression remained cold and unmoved. His Divine Spirit—born from the fusion of his soul with the origin of his Heavenly Flame—was long devoid of emotion.

Reaching the deepest chamber, he beheld a forest of colossal black iron pillars. Countless chains extended from them, each pillar anchoring a powerful soul within.

Among them, one particular pillar held a frail, elderly soul bound by dark chains—its head drooping, eyes shut tight, aura weak to the extreme.

Before the pillar stood a young man, face filled with excitement and sorrow, calling desperately to the old soul—but no matter how he shouted, the elder did not stir.

"Teacher, I'll get you out right now!"

Xiao Yan's voice trembled with resolve. From his ring, he drew the massive black ruler, white flames coiling along its edge as its fierce aura surged outward.

"Flame Splitting Tsunami!"

A white arc of ruler-light, several meters long, slashed forth and struck the soul chains binding the old man.

Crack!

Though the chains were forged to restrain souls, before such a devastating Dou Technique, they shattered easily.

Without the suppression of the chains siphoning his essence, the elder's soul finally stirred. Slowly, weakly, the old figure raised his head. His dim eyes flickered open amid Xiao Yan's frantic calls, clarity gradually returning to his face.

"Xiao Yan… it's you…"

The weak, trembling voice of Yao Chen echoed faintly. It had been too long since he had last spoken—and his soul was now so fragile it seemed ready to fade at any moment.

Xiao Yan's eyes burned with emotion. Though his teacher had once deceived him, Yao Chen had since guided him selflessly—and even left him the Bone Chilling Flame.

"Teacher, it's me! There's no time to explain—take this Soul-Nurturing Elixir first! We'll talk once we've escaped!"

"Good… Xiao Yan, there are many strong ones here. Be careful, child…"

Yao Chen understood his own condition. His soul essence had been drained far too much—he was little more than a burden now. Without further hesitation, he absorbed the Soul-Nurturing Elixir, then transformed into a faint wisp of light that flew into the familiar Bone Flame Ring.

After securing Yao Chen's soul, Xiao Yan finally allowed himself to breathe. But when he looked around at the endless forest of black pillars—each imprisoning a suffering soul—his expression hardened.

"Damn the Hall of Souls… how could they commit such monstrous acts…"

He didn't linger. Xiao Yan knew he didn't have the time or strength to save anyone else. Without hesitation, he leapt from the pillar and retraced his path back toward the entrance.

Once Xiao Yan's figure vanished, a faint, emotionless silhouette stepped out from the shadows—Liu Xi. Hands clasped behind his back, he walked slowly into the vast chamber.

At the very center stood a broad plaza surrounded by towering pillars. Beneath his feet lay an eerie, obsidian floor that seemed to devour all spiritual perception.

But Liu Xi could feel it—the subtle difference in the air. This place was the true heart of the Hall of Souls' Human Hall. Every fragment of soul essence drained through the chains ultimately converged here.

He lowered his gaze, calm and expressionless. Without a word, his hands formed a rapid sequence of seals. Waves of powerful Spiritual Power surged outward, converging according to an intricate pattern.

"Soul Mystic Palm—Triple Seal Fusion!"

Before him, the Spiritual Power condensed into three massive, translucent palm imprints. The air itself warped under their pressure as the seals drew together, merging into one.

A terrifying aura of annihilation erupted from the fused seal—so overwhelming that even the souls chained nearby seemed to shudder instinctively.

A sound like a dragon's roar—half beast, half thunder—shook the chamber as the enormous handprint fully took shape. Yet Liu Xi's expression remained indifferent, calm as ever.

"Go."

With a flick of his wrist, the colossal handprint plunged downward. In the same instant, Liu Xi vanished into the void—he had no intention of being caught in the explosion that followed.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Deafening roars echoed through the vast chamber. The shockwave tore through the floor, uprooting iron pillars and filling the air with fragments of stone, metal, and dust.

When the dust settled, a deep pit had opened at the plaza's center. There, a radiant orb of light floated quietly, its surface bound by countless chains.

These chains were the conduits that connected every imprisoned soul—the orb itself, the concentrated essence of all the souls' origins.

A flicker of light appeared, and Liu Xi reemerged at the pit's edge. His gaze fixed upon the glowing sphere. Even without touching it, he could sense the lingering malice within—a final act of defiance from countless tormented souls.

They refused to vanish quietly. If they were to be devoured again, they would make sure their devourer bled for it.

"Become my strength," Liu Xi said softly. "I'll avenge you all."

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an inexplicable gentleness. Perhaps it was the resonance of his spirit realm—but at his words, the hatred bound to the soul orb began to fade.

The light grew purer, brighter—its power no longer twisted by rage, becoming raw, immaculate Soull Essence—the true source of creation itself.

In this world, nothing was more profound than the soul. And the soul's origin was its root—bearing memory, will, and consciousness—the foundation upon which all spirit was born.

Liu Xi leapt down into the pit, placing a hand gently on the glowing orb. The soft radiance pulsed once, then flowed into his ethereal form, merging seamlessly with his body.

It wasn't full fusion yet, but it no longer resisted him. Retracting his hand, Liu Xi clasped it once more behind his back, face still calm, devoid of emotion.

Floating upward, he gazed over the massive hall—endless chains, endless souls—and whispered, "Then let the vengeance begin… with this Tianhang Human Hall."

A faint azure flame bloomed from his body, expanding into a ring of fire that spread outward in all directions.

Where the flame passed, black pillars and soul chains melted like wax, collapsing into ash. The blaze grew faster and faster, soon engulfing the entire hall.

Freed from their bindings, the countless souls began to stir.

Liu Xi's figure vanished—but his lingering Spiritual Will swept through the air, rippling across the sea of awakening souls.

At first, the newly freed souls were dazed and confused. But deep within each of them, a single word began to echo—vengeance.

Rage flared like wildfire. Confusion turned to wrath, wrath to madness. No soul would ever willingly be captured and drained again.

"ROAR!"

Within the Human Hall, tens of thousands of souls howled in unison—an eruption of fury shaking the heavens.

The uprising of souls had begun.
