Chapter 475 - Chapter 475: The First Tianzun Appears

"You people of the Gu Clan truly intend to meddle in the affairs between Xiao Yan and my Hall of Souls? If you don't leave now, don't blame this Saint for killing you here today!"

The chilling voice echoed from within the massive black hall, followed by an overwhelming surge of black mist that gushed out like a tide of ink, blotting out the heavens.

The white-haired old man's eyes flashed with fury. When a Dou Saint grew angry, even heaven and earth trembled. Ripples spread across the void as violent gales swept against the roiling darkness.

"How arrogant! I'd like to see for myself what ability the Hall of Souls' First Tianzun truly has!"

The Gu Clan had no real interest in interfering with Xiao Yan anymore—he had long since lost his value. But when the young mistress herself had given the order, even the clan head could only comply with a bitter sigh.

The black mist was torn apart by the storm, only to surge and reform again. From within it emerged an old man draped in a black robe, his face gaunt like a corpse, two ghostly flames flickering deep within his eye sockets.

The vast and oppressive aura he released was no weaker than that of the Gu Clan's Dou Saint—yet it carried a chilling darkness that made it impossible to read.

"If that's your decision," the First Tianzun said coldly, "then don't say I failed to give the Gu Clan face. I'll simply let your clan lose a Dou Saint today."

"Gu You, kill them all—and bring Xiao Yan back to the clan alive."

At those words, Gu You—who had been proud and disdainful mere moments before—instantly changed his expression. He bowed with absolute deference. "Gu You understands."

The First Tianzun's frosty gaze locked onto the Gu Clan Dou Saint. No matter the reason, now that the Gu Clan had come to provoke them, the Hall of Souls could not afford to show weakness.

"Let's fight beyond the heavens!"

As his voice fell, the First Tianzun surged into the sky, trailed by endless black mist that coiled upward like a dragon, exuding eerie and dreadful power.

The white-robed Dou Saint gave a cold sneer. He knew perfectly well that the First Tianzun wanted to lure him away—but he still transformed into a blur and gave chase.

Though their words were fierce, in truth the two were evenly matched; neither could overpower the other. Yet with them gone, no one left could stand against Gu You.

Boom!

The two collided in the sky with an earth-shattering roar. A single exchange shattered the heavens, and the destructive Dou Qi shockwaves made even those below tremble in terror.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Thunderous explosions rumbled like divine wrath. The clash above was so intense that no one dared look directly at it.

Even a stray ripple of power from that battle could obliterate a Dou Zun below. These figures—each a giant in their own right—now felt pitifully small in the face of such might.

Gu You did not waste time staring. The moment the Gu Clan's Dou Saint left, he barked coldly to his subordinates.

"Kill them all!"

"Yes!" countless dark shadows roared in unison, their figures flashing as they rushed toward Xiao Yan and his allies.

Gu You himself did not remain idle. A cold, sinister grin curled across his face as he moved—one step, and he shot forward a hundred meters, skeletal claws descending toward Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan's body trembled. That sky-covering claw radiated such monstrous might that he felt like an insect before divine punishment. His eyes widened, veins bulging, yet his legs refused to move.

'Move… damn it, move!'

He roared inwardly. He had thought that breaking through to Dou Zun meant he was strong—but once again, he realized how weak he truly was.

No matter how unwilling he felt, facing the might of that claw, he found himself completely paralyzed.

Bang!

Xuan Kongzi struck, knocking the bone claw aside—but the recoil made his body shudder violently. Even so, he stood firmly before Xiao Yan, his black robe billowing, his Dou Qi surging like a storm as he said in a low, heavy voice, "Don't just stand there! Go find Yao Chen!"

Xiao Yan forced himself to refocus. This mission was to save Yao Chen—if they failed now, all their sacrifices would be meaningless.

"Yes, Senior!"

He responded quickly. Now that the oppressive force was gone, his body could move again. He dashed forward toward the black hall without hesitation.

Gu You's strike had been blocked, and that alone made him sneer with rage. Since when did a mere 9-Turn Dou Zun dare to defy him?

"Jie jie… courting death! Today, none of you will leave here alive!"

With a flick of his bone staff, Gu You unleashed a torrent of fierce Dou Qi that swept toward Xuan Kongzi like a roaring dragon. The impact made Xuan Kongzi's expression turn grave.

Not content with that, Gu You's other claw lashed toward Xiao Yan again, the condensed Dou Qi forming into a massive skeletal hand that froze Xiao Yan mid-flight.

Struggling to turn his head, Xiao Yan's eyes reddened with fury as he cursed Gu You and all his ancestors.

"You old bastard, I'll—!"

Boom!

Before he could finish, Xuan Yi flashed in front of him, shattering the bone claw with a powerful strike. Her body trembled, and she forcibly swallowed down the blood surging up her throat.

"Hurry and find him!" she shouted.

In an instant, two more black-robed experts appeared, forming a four-cornered formation around Gu You. All four were 9-Turn Dou Zuns, and only together could they hope to stall him.

Xuan Kongzi and Xuan Yi exchanged a glance, and all four attacked simultaneously, sealing off Gu You's movements and forcing him to confront them head-on.

"When did a bunch of Dou Zuns start thinking they could challenge a Half Saint? I'll kill you all first—let's see how that brat thinks he'll break into the Hall of Souls then!"

Gu You's mocking laughter echoed. His killing intent erupted skyward; his body moved like a ghost, his power like a raging demon. His staff swung and thrust like a spear, battering all four back—Xuan Kongzi barely escaped with his life, the others faring even worse.

Gritting his teeth, Xiao Yan ignored the chaos behind him and charged straight for the massive black hall.

"Jie jie… this road is closed! Get back here!"

A figure materialized in his path, face twisted and ghastly. Dou Qi flared like a storm—it was a 3-Star Dou Zun, forcing Xiao Yan to halt.

"Damn it!"

Xiao Yan's face darkened. His opponent's strength clearly surpassed his own—an absolute threat.

Without the protection of the four 9-Turn Dou Zuns, the Hall of Souls' home-field advantage became absolute. Even an ordinary Elder here wasn't someone Xiao Yan could easily fight.

Zzzk!

A sharp sword light tore through the air, splitting space itself as it slashed toward the Hall's Dou Zun. The man's eyes narrowed; he flicked his sleeve, sending out thick black chains that clashed with the blade in a burst of sparks. He staggered several steps back.

Venerable Jian arrived, expression calm and cold. Sword in hand, he stood before Xiao Yan and said evenly, "I owed Yao Chen a life. Today, I repay that debt. Go find him—this one's mine."

"Thank you, Senior!" Xiao Yan bowed gratefully, darting past the Dou Zun and continuing toward the black hall.

"Go back!" Another Dou Zun appeared to block him, his oppressive aura freezing the air itself.

"I'll handle this one." Venerable Yunshan stepped forward.

"Much appreciated, Senior," Xiao Yan said through clenched teeth.

He had thought that becoming a Dou Zun made him powerful, yet here he was—unable to defeat anyone, relying on others for every step. The frustration burned deep in his chest.

One after another, the veteran Dou Zuns blocked his enemies, clearing the path until at last, Xiao Yan broke through and reached the great black hall.

The price of one man's success—was countless others' blood.
