Chapter 462 - Chapter 462: Traitors of the Dragon Tribe

Qing Lin's figure vanished—what replaced her was a colossal nine-headed serpent, the Ancient Heaven Serpent. Its scarlet scales shimmered under the crimson light, nine terrifying heads coiling and hissing as a murderous aura surged to the heavens.

The only part that seemed calm amidst the carnage was its eyes—emerald pupils shaped like blooming petals, the Jade Snake Three-Flower Pupils—cold and composed, unlike the usual madness of a beast.

When the Ancient Heaven Serpent appeared, the dragons of East Dragon Island exhaled in relief, though shame burned in their hearts. To think the proud Ancient Void Dragon Tribe would rely on the power of a creature their ancestors had once exterminated—it was a bitter irony.

Xia Ao frowned. He hadn't expected East Dragon Island to possess such a hidden trump card. The battle, once clear in its outcome, had suddenly turned uncertain.

He chuckled darkly. "Heh! So this is what the proud Ancient Void Dragon Tribe has fallen to—borrowing strength from outsiders! And not just any outsiders, but the Heaven Serpent Tribe we wiped from existence!"

Qi You's face darkened, but he didn't rise to the taunt. His tone was calm and cold. "Winners write the history, Xia Ao. If East Dragon Island prevails today, tomorrow it will be the North, South, and West Islands bowing before the true Dragon Emperor."

Xia Ao froze momentarily, then laughed as their palms collided once more. The force tore through space, shattering it into a storm of void fragments. Both men staggered back, neither able to overpower the other.

"Perhaps," Xia Ao said with a thin smile. "If that day truly comes, it would be good for our tribe. But for now… we'll see whose blood stains the sky!"

"Hmph!"

Qi You's snort was sharp as a blade. Still, after witnessing Qing Lin summon the Ancient Heaven Serpent, a flicker of confidence ignited within him.

Zhu Li too allowed a faint smile. When he had entrusted Qing Lin with the serpent's blood essence, many had doubted him—but now, it was proving invaluable.

Man Yan, meanwhile, looked mildly surprised before scoffing. "The Ancient Heaven Serpent? Extinct for millennia—and that's your trump card? Against Elder Qing Yan, even that beast will be crushed with a single strike."

Zhu Li's gaze slid toward Man Yan, silent but burning. His attacks only grew fiercer, his every blow sending members of the Barbaric Dragon Army crashing backward, bones shattered, blood spraying through the air.

'Man Yan isn't wrong,' Zhu Li thought grimly. 'Qing Yan's strength far surpasses that of the Ancient Heaven Serpent. Qing Lin can delay him—but not forever.'

His eyes hardened. Gathering his Dou Qi, Zhu Li raised his arm and roared, "Man Yan—fight me!"

His voice thundered across the battlefield. Even the Barbaric Dragon Army faltered for a moment under the sheer pressure of a Half Saint's might.

Man Yan cursed under his breath. 'Damn it, he's clearly trying to drag me down with him!' But as commander, retreat wasn't an option. If he faltered, his soldiers would too.

With a deep exhale, Man Yan's scales hardened, his body gleaming like tempered iron. Pushing aside his troops, he met Zhu Li head-on with grim resolve.

"Then come!"

In the depths of East Dragon Island, the Ancient Heaven Serpent writhed through the air, its nine heads spewing poisonous blood mist that corroded everything it touched.

Qing Yan moved swiftly, space twisting around him as he avoided the deadly vapor. Even he didn't dare let that poison touch him—it could melt through a Dou Zun in moments.

His eyes narrowed. Then, a sinister grin crept onto his face as immense energy gathered between his palms, distorting the void.

"Now!"

With a step, his body vanished.

Boom!

From the void, his hand shot out like a blade, slamming directly at the serpent's seven-inch weak point.

The nine heads roared in fury and pain. Scales split apart, blood mist exploded outward, and one of the serpent's necks was nearly severed.

But before Qing Yan could retreat, a tail thicker than a mountain whipped through the air—

Crash!

The blow sent him hurtling across the ground. Bones cracked audibly as he spat blood, his sneer collapsing into a grimace.

Qing Lin had used the serpent's body as a trap—deliberately exposing its weak point to lure him in, then counterattacking with devastating precision.

A trade of injury for injury—mutual destruction.

Qing Yan staggered to his feet, flickering out of sight and reappearing hundreds of meters away. His face was smeared with blood, his expression twisted with fury.

"You little wretch… nearly fooled me. But that won't happen again."

From within the wounded serpent, Qing Lin's voice rang clear and icy. "As long as I still stand, you'll go no further."

"Qing Lin—come back!"

A calm, familiar voice echoed from the depths of the island.

"Young Master!"

Joy flooded Qing Lin's face. The serpent's eyes softened; the killing intent faded like melting frost.

The enormous body of the Ancient Heaven Serpent dissolved into blood mist, which rushed back into her body. When the haze cleared, Qing Lin stood there pale and trembling, her aura flickering. The serpent's injuries had rebounded onto her.

Qing Yan's laughter erupted. "Hahaha! You fool! Dispelling the Ancient Heaven Serpent's power in front of me—what a joke!"

From the volcano's depths, Liu Xi walked forth. His face was calm, his eyes bright with divine light, his energy surging and steady. Gone was the exhaustion of ten sleepless nights. The Ancient Void Dragon Blood had restored him completely.

"I don't know about jokes," Liu Xi said coolly, stepping in front of Qing Lin, "but I do know one thing—you won't leave East Dragon Island alive."

Qing Yan burst into laughter. "You? A mere Dou Zun dares to—"

His words cut off with a choking gasp.

A spear of purple-gold light pierced through his throat.

Qing Yan stared down in disbelief at the weapon impaling him—the Purple-Gold Dragon Spear. His trembling hand reached for it, but the light in his eyes was already fading.

A voice, ancient and regal, thundered through the heavens:

"I am the Dragon Emperor! And traitors to the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe—shall die by my hand!"

The roar shook the skies. A wave of pure royal might swept through the island, crashing over every dragon present.

Under that divine pressure, all Ancient Void Dragons trembled, their bloodlines bowing instinctively in reverence and fear.
