Liu Xi naturally had no intention of letting him go. The Tiger Tribe Dou Zun was already dead—if he let this one escape, that would truly be releasing a tiger back to the mountain!
He continued controlling the Heavenly Demon Puppet Ah Da, launching frenzied attacks against the Bear Tribe Dou Zun. Though Ah Da's strength was slightly inferior, relying on the Heavenly Demon Puppet's steel body, he fought fearlessly without a hint of retreat. Unless his body was completely destroyed—or Liu Xi commanded otherwise—he would continue fighting unto death.
Yao Tianhuo stood in the void, circling around the combatants, occasionally flashing forward to deliver a heavy strike with his palm. Each blow left the Bear Tribe Patriarch feeling as if struck by lightning, his flesh scorched and blackened in patches, his massive frame battered and burnt all over.
The patriarch's ferocity grew more twisted by the moment. These people completely ignored his words—even invoking the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe's name was useless! His voice turned hoarse as he roared, "Do you truly intend to drive me to death? Don't force me, or I can't promise what I'll do!"
Yao Tianhuo replied indifferently, "We've been fleeing this whole time to avoid conflict with you. And yet—you chased us from the Beast Region's core all the way to its edge! Tell me, who's really refusing to let go? We've come this far; how can there be any talk of stopping now?"
Hearing that, regret surged in the Bear Tribe Patriarch's heart. He had underestimated the "fire thieves," assuming their escape was nothing but desperation. Otherwise, he would never have pursued them relentlessly, giving them no chance to rest. He never imagined that the fleeing enemies were such terrifying figures—two human Dou Zuns, plus two Dou Zun-level puppets! But regret came too late. With the shadow of death looming, his remorse hardened into madness and ferocity.
A thunderous crack echoed as his massive palm slammed into the Heavenly Demon Puppet's chest, leaving another deep dent. Yet he was also forced to take a punishing punch in return, his breath caught painfully in his throat. Pushing the puppet back, he flicked his gaze toward Yao Tianhuo at the edge of the battlefield, and his eyes hardened.
"AHHHHH!"
He spread his legs wide, fists clenched, and threw back his head with a blood-curdling roar. A dense mist of blood spurted from his body as his frame swelled larger and larger, until he resembled a monstrous giant bear. The blood mist seethed around him, thick with a brutal and murderous aura. His once-white hair was dyed a vivid crimson, and his blood-red beast eyes burned with pure insanity—his reason devoured by rage.
"Roar!"
The berserk giant bear let out a thunderous roar and stomped upon the air. His colossal body shot forward with unnatural speed, a streak of blood-red light that lunged straight at Yao Tianhuo.
Yao Tianhuo frowned slightly, his figure drifting like a leaf in the wind, weaving through the air like a fish in water. He effortlessly dodged the giant bear's violent strikes. The creature's power was roughly that of a 2-Star Dou Zun. Yao Tianhuo wasn't afraid, but he had no intention of clashing head-on with such brute force. Now that it was in a berserk state, its strength surged to the level of a 3-Star Dou Zun.
He narrowed his eyes. Once the berserk state faded, the giant bear would be powerless—but here, deep in the Beast Region, who knew how long it would last? They couldn't afford to waste time waiting.
Just as Yao Tianhuo prepared to unleash his Five Ring Flame Expelling Technique, Xiao Yixian and the Heavenly Demon Puppet Tian Shuang soared toward him.
"Elder Yao, let me handle this!"
Her soft voice reached his ears, making Yao Tianhuo chuckle bitterly. He could only sigh in admiration—what a terrifying thing the Woeful Poison Body truly was.
Tian Shuang, having taken Hu Potian's Divine Gale Demon Cannon head-on, was covered in a web of scars carved by countless wind blades. Yet so long as his limbs remained intact, the Heavenly Demon Puppet's steel body made such wounds meaningless. Under Liu Xi's control, the puppet charged fearlessly, swinging his massive fists down toward the berserk giant bear.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The fearless, pain-immune puppet and the mindless, berserk giant bear clashed with raw violence—each blow tearing rifts in the air, creating black voids that sucked in wind and light. Waves of fierce energy rippled outward, flattening the ground below.
Xiao Yixian quietly closed in, her slender jade hand holding a long, pitch-black needle that radiated a chilling aura. Narrowing her beautiful eyes, she watched for an opening—a single, perfect instant to strike.
In a flash, her figure vanished into the air itself. Tian Shuang took a heavy blow to the chest but countered instantly with a punch to the bear's sternum, stunning the beast for a heartbeat.
That was all she needed. Xiao Yixian emerged from a ripple beside the giant bear, her graceful figure outlined by the rushing air. With a smooth motion, she thrust the poison needle into the beast's neck, piercing its tough hide with ease.
She withdrew instantly. The bear froze mid-motion, its massive eyes widening in shock as the savage light within began to fade. The murderous aura around it quickly dissipated, replaced by fleeting clarity—just enough for it to sense the strange power devouring its life. Its mouth opened soundlessly before its body went limp, collapsing with unwilling fury still etched in its gaze.
The Woeful Poison Body's venom was fearsome beyond compare. Even a magical beast's vitality could not resist it.
Liu Xi rose into the air, carefully avoiding the spatial cracks and black voids left behind by the Dou Zun battle. Yao Tianhuo and Xiao Yixian joined him moments later.
"Thanks to Elder Yao and Xian'er, we've finally rid ourselves of these two persistent beasts. Now we can return to the Central Plains in peace."
Yao Tianhuo smiled wryly, glancing toward Xiao Yixian with a trace of envy. "It's all thanks to Miss Xiao Yixian. With her Woeful Poison Body fully under control, her cultivation speed is astonishing—and her combat strength, truly unrivaled."
Xiao Yixian smiled modestly, her eyes soft as she looked at Liu Xi. Once, the Woeful Poison Body had only brought her despair—but Liu Xi had pulled her back into the light.
Meanwhile, the two Heavenly Demon Puppets dragged the corpses of the slain beasts back to their master. Both puppets bore dents and scratches, but with no major damage—after another session of absorbing lightning, they would fully recover.
Liu Xi waved his hand, storing the two puppets and the two corpses into his ring. "This place isn't safe. Let's leave and head back to the Central Plains."
"That's for the best."
"Yes, Young Master!"
The three figures turned into blurs of light and vanished toward the edge of the Beast Region.
...
Later, when news spread that two Dou Zuns from the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe's vassal clans had been slain, the high elders of the tribe erupted in fury. The entire Beast Region was shaken. They dispatched powerful experts to investigate, but by then, Liu Xi and his companions had long returned to the Central Plains—leaving no trace behind.
In the end, the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe issued a continent-wide bounty, offering rich rewards for any clue about the mysterious powerhouses who had dared kill their vassals.
