At the edge of a desolate cliff, Liu Xi lifted his head and gazed into the sky. A moment ago, the heavens had been empty, but in the blink of an eye, two overwhelming auras had appeared, their figures suspended high above.
The two figures—Dou Zun experts who had relentlessly pursued them across the skies—now wore faint expressions of surprise. Clearly, this outcome was far beyond their expectations.
Hu Potian clasped his hands together, the joints in his fingers cracking sharply as his expression grew solemn. His voice rumbled coldly: "Humph, I thought it was some unruly beast tribe. So it turns out to be human Dou Zuns from Central Plains. I'll give you one chance—hand over the Heavenly Flame now, and I might let you live!"
Beside him, the Bear Tribe Patriarch remained silent, seemingly in agreement but with flickering eyes.
'Two human Dou Zuns… not easy opponents. The Ten Thousand Beast Flame cannot be lost. Stall for time—when the Wolf and Leopard Tribe Dou Zuns arrive, we'll strike and end them in one blow!'
Behind his back, Liu Xi's fingers formed subtle hand seals as his Spiritual Power linked to the two Heavenly Demon Puppets hidden nearby—ready to strike at any moment.
"There's no need for such hostility," Liu Xi replied calmly. "Heavenly Flames are born of heaven and earth, meant for those fated to obtain them. I found it—that is fate itself. Now…"
"Attack!"
In that instant, two blinding golden shadows erupted from concealment, bursting forth with earth-shattering force that tore through the sky like rending space itself. Wherever they passed, the air split apart into pitch-black scars that extended straight toward the two Dou Zuns.
At Liu Xi's side, Yao Tianhuo and Xiao Yixian struck at the same moment. Ripples of space shimmered like water waves as their bodies fused into the void, disappearing in a blink.
Up in the sky, Hu Potian and the Bear Tribe Patriarch were both momentarily dumbfounded. They had believed themselves the hunters, ready to toy with their prey.
Yet to their shock, they had become the hunted.
Enraged, Hu Potian roared, "Despicable! Sneak attacks? You think that scares me?!"
His massive body bulged as muscles swelled like coiled steel, his face twisting into a feral snarl. Crimson madness flooded his eyes as his violent aura erupted.
Beside him, the Bear Tribe Patriarch refused to lag behind. His seemingly aged frame flared with terrifying blood energy, his massive palms spreading like twin fans.
"Hu Potian, don't be reckless! These two puppets are no weaklings—and the two human Dou Zuns are extremely strong. Don't fight head-on!"
Boom! Boom!
Before the words had even fallen, the Heavenly Demon Puppets had already charged forward. Their fists swung like giant hammers, colliding brutally against the two Dou Zuns.
The heavy impact shook the heavens. The void cracked like shattered glass, spreading out in a spiderweb of black fissures as the wind screamed and the ground below churned violently.
A storm howled through the sky; stones and dust surged upward. The four combatants separated after a single exchange, retreating several hundred meters as the air trembled around them.
The two golden puppets steadied themselves quickly, their metallic bodies glimmering. Tian Shuangzi's puppet body was completely unscathed, while Ah Da's chest had slightly caved in—evidence of the Bear Patriarch's monstrous strength.
But pain meant nothing to them. They were machines of slaughter, immune to fatigue or fear. Both puppets charged forward again, golden light streaking toward Hu Potian and the Bear Patriarch.
"Damn it! These puppets have monstrous strength…"
Hu Potian gritted his teeth, forcing down the boiling blood within his chest. He finally understood why puppets were feared—their unyielding durability and their overwhelming raw power!
He swept his arm, gathering roaring winds that spun around him like blades.
"Die!"
With a roar, razor-sharp Wind Blades materialized from every direction, slicing toward Tian Shuangzi's puppet form.
The howling blades shimmered like a hurricane, carrying deadly sharpness that made one's scalp prickle.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Tian Shuangzi ignored the assault completely, walking straight through the torrent of Wind Blades. The steel of his golden body shrieked as deep white gashes appeared across his chest—but he never stopped.
Charging straight ahead through the storm, he raised his arm and punched. Space warped under the strike as his fist slammed toward Hu Potian's head.
Another thunderous collision followed. Hu Potian's massive body reeled backward, disbelief and rage twisting his tiger-like face. Never had he imagined that he—a Beast Dou Zun famed for physical might—would lose in close combat to a puppet!
Worse still, his instincts screamed danger. A faint killing intent had locked onto him from afar—if it struck, it would be fatal!
Hu Potian kicked out hard, his foot slamming into Tian Shuangzi's chest to push both apart, retreating a hundred meters in one bound.
"Courting death! You dare humiliate me? I'll crush you into scrap metal!"
His blood-red eyes burned with fury. With a deafening roar, his towering figure swelled once again, transforming into a massive striped tiger tens of meters tall.
"ROAR!"
The colossal tiger opened its fanged maw, gathering violent winds between its jaws until the world trembled.
"Divine Gale Demon Cannon!"
A blinding pillar of light erupted from his mouth, carrying violent wind energy that tore through the air and smashed straight into Tian Shuangzi.
Boom!
The blast engulfed him completely, countless Wind Blades raging across his body. The relentless barrage carved gashes into the puppet's metallic shell—until his frame was riddled with deep scars.
At that precise moment, a faint black glint flashed through the void—a needle-thin streak of death piercing directly toward Hu Potian's brow.
His beastly eyes widened as a sharp sting pricked his forehead—but nothing seemed to happen.
Smirking, he turned to the approaching Xiao Yixian and sneered: "That's your attack? Pathetic! That doesn't even—uh…"
Mid-sentence, his mocking tone froze. Shock filled his crimson pupils as thick black blood trickled from his mouth. A deadly, eerie power spread rapidly through his veins.
Hu Potian tried to circulate his Dou Qi to resist, but his strength drained away faster than he could react. His body trembled violently as despair filled his eyes.
"Impossible… This king cannot die here…"
The terrifying toxin of the Woeful Poison Body ravaged him from within, erasing all traces of life until his immense body fell lifeless from the sky.
The Bear Tribe Patriarch's expression twisted in horror. A powerhouse stronger than himself—Hu Potian—had been slain in mere moments. Cold dread surged from the base of his spine to his skull.
Already battered under Yao Tianhuo and Ah Da's combined assault, panic overtook him. His rhythm faltered, several strikes landing squarely against his body as the shadow of death loomed above him.
"You fools! Do you even know who you're offending? We are vassals of the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe—one of the three supreme beast races!'
"Let me go now, and I might beg them to spare your lives!"
