Chapter 281 - Chapter 281: Ten Thousand Beast Flame

"Xian'er, it's your turn."

The guards stationed at the Beast Tomb were formidable, but not enough to stop a Dou Zun. Unless the four major Magical Beast Tribe Chiefs personally appeared, none could stand in their way.

"Okay, Young Master! I'll go knock them out right now!"

Before Liu Xi could speak again, Xiao Yixian's delicate figure flickered—about to rush forward when his urgent voice stopped her.

"Wait—Xian'er, don't be reckless! I meant open a spatial passage, not charge in. If we draw a few Beast Dou Zuns here, that'll be a headache."

He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Ever since breaking through to the Dou Zun realm, Xiao Yixian had become rather fearless—her first instinct always being to settle problems with force.

Now that she had reached the Mid Rank Dou Zun level, her control over spatial power had grown immensely—slipping past a few Dou Zong guards would be child's play.

"Oh—right!" she replied sheepishly.

Her jade-like fingers rose and traced gently through the air. No fluctuation appeared, yet space itself split silently—a narrow, pitch-black crack opening before them as if cut by an invisible blade.

Liu Xi and Yao Tianhuo stepped through first, with Xiao Yixian following last. As she glided her hand across the air, the spatial fissure sealed seamlessly—like it had never existed at all.

Inside the Beast Tomb.

In a shadow-choked canyon, a dark rift tore open. Yao Tianhuo emerged first, his fiery eyes sharp as he swept his surroundings. Sensing no immediate threat, he turned back and called out, "Little friend, it's clear. You can come out now."

Liu Xi stepped through next, exhaling softly as his boots touched the bone-strewn ground. "Elder Yao, I'm not that fragile. With my current Spiritual Power, even an average Dou Zun couldn't harm me unless they caught me completely off guard."

Yao Tianhuo chuckled, stroking his beard. "Heh, alchemists shouldn't dirty their hands. Leave the fighting to me."

Liu Xi didn't reply, his gaze sweeping the eerie canyon. Countless beast bones—large and small—were scattered across the ground. On either side, jagged cliffs loomed high, shrouded in baleful clouds. The faint wind whistled through, carrying a chorus of ghostly wails that made the entire canyon feel deathly cold.

"Roar!"

A thunderous bellow suddenly echoed through the canyon, rolling like a storm. Liu Xi's group tensed instantly, turning toward the sound.

A massive tiger—its entire body wreathed in crimson flame—charged forth. Three zhang tall, with bloodthirsty eyes and a blazing red "King" mark on its forehead, it radiated savage fury.

"That's a Blood Spirit," Yao Tianhuo observed calmly. "Judging by its form, it should be a mutated Skyfiend Tiger—about the strength of an early Dou Zong. The flame surrounding it seems to amplify its power slightly."

Since the creature posed no real threat, Yao Tianhuo's tone remained casual.

The Blood Spirit lunged forward with frightening speed, its roar shaking the bones underfoot. A suffocating stench of blood rolled over them.

With a flick of his sleeve, Yao Tianhuo unleashed a violent gust. The air boomed like thunder as the Blood Spirit was crushed under immense pressure, exploding into a cloud of blood mist. The crimson vapor soon condensed into a single glowing Blood Pearl.

Liu Xi stepped forward, retrieving the pearl. His Spiritual Power swept through it—within pulsed the essence and blood of Magical Beasts. As expected, Blood Spirits were entities formed from condensed beast souls and blood.

'As I thought,' Liu Xi thought. 'This is the Ten Thousand Beast Flame—ranked 22nd on the Heavenly Flame Ranking. Born from the fused souls and bloodlines of countless beasts. Though not among the highest, it'll still benefit me greatly.'

His eyes gleamed. The lotus mark on his forehead shimmered to life, and waves of Spiritual Power rippled outward, spreading through the entire Beast Tomb as he searched for the flame's exact location.

"Elder Yao, Xian'er—come with me."

With a single tap of his foot, Liu Xi shot forward like lightning, darting between the canyon's twisting ravines.

Yao Tianhuo and Xiao Yixian followed close behind, guarding his flanks. Perhaps motivated by the promise of the Green Fungus Pill, even Yao Tianhuo's speed was unusually fierce.

Bone-white remains and sharp cliffs blurred past as the whistling wind screamed in their ears. Occasionally, guttural roars echoed from deeper within the tomb.

Along the way, swarms of Blood Spirits—whether 5th, 6th, or 7th Rank—rushed at them, only to be annihilated instantly by the two Dou Zuns. None lasted even a single breath.

Liu Xi couldn't help but smirk. 'Feels like I'm running through a dungeon with cheats turned on. If I did this alone, I could still clear it—but it'd take far more time and effort.'

Now, with such companions, their progress was absolute—an unstoppable sweep, crushing every obstacle before them.

As they delved deeper, the Blood Spirits grew stronger—some even rivaling Mid and High Rank Dou Zongs.

Then suddenly, the canyon opened wide. Liu Xi stopped, eyes narrowing on the sight ahead—an enormous pit overflowing with endless beast bones.

"Little friend," Yao Tianhuo murmured, frowning. "This should be the place you sensed. But aside from the sheer number of bones, I don't see anything unusual."

"It's close," Liu Xi said softly. "It's already sensed me. If it devours me, its strength would soar to terrifying heights."

Before he finished speaking, crimson light flickered through the bone pit. One by one, sparks ignited across the mountain of skeletal remains—flowing together toward the center.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

A deafening chorus of beastly howls erupted, and above the pit, a vast blood-red flame condensed. Within the flames, phantom beasts formed and dissolved—then reformed as new shapes, each vividly lifelike.

The world trembled as waves of fiery energy erupted outward. Even compared to the Fallen Heart Flame, its aura felt slightly stronger.

After all, the Heavenly Flame Rankings didn't always correlate perfectly with raw power; longevity and accumulated energy played major roles as well.

This Ten Thousand Beast Flame had likely existed far longer than the Fallen Heart Flame—and had devoured the bloodlines and souls of countless Magical Beasts over time.

"This is… a Heavenly Flame," Yao Tianhuo breathed, his eyes wide. "Judging from its form, it truly matches the 22nd-ranked Ten Thousand Beast Flame. So that's your target!"

He looked both amazed and awed. Even in his long life, he had only seen a handful of Heavenly Flames.

Liu Xi nodded. "Correct. Through my flame resonance, I traced its aura here. The Ten Thousand Beast Flame has been deliberately creating Blood Spirits—sacrificing a bit of its essence to lure beasts here, using their deaths to feed its growth."

As the Ten Thousand Beast Flame surged, searing heat rolled through the canyon. The temperature spiked so drastically that the white bones in the pit began melting into molten sludge.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Now fully aware, the Ten Thousand Beast Flame released its murderous intent. It had long since developed intelligence—and seeing Liu Xi as a walking feast of vitality, it roared with malice.

Yet even in its fury, it hesitated—faintly wary of the two mighty auras standing behind him.
