Chapter 108 - 108. Nahel Argama.

Although the new warship had completed its final equipment installation, some data still needed to be input and debugged before it could set sail.

The "shipyard" had only one dormitory for Roz, so the Archangel's crew would have to make do on the shuttle for the night.

Of course, they could also use the bathroom and shower, though there was only one.

Inside the dim shipyard, the only sounds were the white noise of machinery running and the flickering eyes of Haros inputting data for the new warship.

"So you're not planning to stay in the shipyard?"

On the control platform, Roz leaned against the railing, looking at the big Haro in front of him.

"The shipyard operation doesn't have any real problems. They can read the blueprints; all that's needed is to solve the funding."

The big Haro flapped the wings on its head. "My presence only increases efficiency slightly. There's no problem being on the warship itself. At worst, I can remotely command the shipyard over the network, and the delay isn't that high anyway."

"True… such an ability is really convenient."

Roz smiled, turning his gaze to the distant outline of the new warship.

"As long as you work overtime constantly, you can gain the same ability as me. Want to try?"

There was a hint of teasing in the big Haro's tone.

"Work yourself to death and you can turn into a state like mine."

The big Haro deployed its weapons, with gun barrels and missiles protruding from under the panels, like a walking arsenal.

"…Forget it, I still want to live a few more years."

"Even if you agreed, I wouldn't let you overwork like that."

The big Haro retracted its weapons, rocking in place. "I'm too protective to let you work overtime."

In fact, if Roz overworked and died suddenly, transforming into a being like the big Haro, then the big Haro would have to return to its original position and overwork, waiting for the Courtyard to assign the next executor, which usually takes five to ten system years.

Roz was currently the big Haro's hope to escape the overtime hell. The Haro treated Roz as if he were extremely fragile—careful not to break him, careful not to let him melt—wanting to help Roz pass the probation period immediately.

However, the longer the big Haro spent with Roz, the more it felt like playing a "raising/idle game." But compared to game characters, Roz had more initiative; at least the matter of getting stronger didn't require the Haro's concern.

His emotional intelligence wasn't great, though, which was perhaps his weakness.

Roz, completely unaware of the big Haro's wandering thoughts, turned his attention from the distant warship back to the Haro, inspecting its retracting weapons.

"I've always wondered, your internal volume doesn't seem that large—how do you fit so many weapons inside?"

"That's like asking a girl's weight—it's a forbidden question."

The big Haro extended a mechanical arm, tapping Roz's head lightly with a familiar paper fan. "It's late. Time to go back to sleep."

"Do you want me to sing a lullaby for you tonight? Or should I teach that one called Murrue to sing? Or maybe I'll ask Christina to sing; she's already learned."

"No! Stop putting Char's embarrassing personal stuff into the book!"

"But you're an NT. A book written for NTs to raise NTs should be accurate."

"Uh… is that your plan? Damn you, Char!"

Realizing his glorious image had been shattered, Roz instinctively wanted to loudly curse Char, the despicable guy. But seeing the quietly parked shuttle not far away, he could only lower his voice.

The next day, when everyone woke up, the new warship had completed its data input and basic debugging.

If Orb had been doing the debugging, it might have taken several days. But these Haros, who were former wetware reserves, even though their computation speed and working time were slightly inferior, managed to complete the preliminary debugging in the shortest time by working overtime without rest.

As a side note, these Haros also ran Vtuber livestreams while working, euphemistically calling it a "24-hour endurance stream," which made some viewers—whether from the Earth Federation or the PLANTs—frenziedly react in the chat.

"Still doing Vtuber streams? Do you want your viewers to die from exhaustion?!"

A green-haired Marvin, in front of everyone's eyes, slapped a gray Haro flying across.

"Quack! Big Brother Roz, Marvin is bullying me again!"

From the gray Haro's speaker came a young male voice screaming in pain, and the sound was slightly distorted from the spin as it was knocked away.

"Ahem… Marvin, it's better not to be so harsh on them."

Seeing the scene, Roz coughed twice. "After all, unlike you, this is probably their only form of entertainment—surfing the net."

"I'm not worried about them; I'm worried their viewers will drop dead!"

Marvin sighed, spreading his hands. "They told me there are a few viewers who always stay in their stream. I really don't want anyone to die just because of a Vtuber stream."

"Enough, let's get back to business."

Marvin patted his face to bring himself back to focus.

"According to the name on the blueprints, Millennium-class, Nahel Argama, officially delivered."

Marvin gave Roz a somewhat awkward military salute, his expression serious. "Please designate the new captain, Captain Roz."

Although they usually jokingly called Roz "Big Brother," the title of Captain among the Haros was special—it belonged uniquely to Roz. When this title came from them, it meant their attitude was serious.

"…There doesn't seem to be anyone suitable here."

Roz thought for a moment and returned a somewhat awkward salute to Marvin.

"Murrue, Natarle, I hope you can continue to serve as the captain and vice-captain of this new Nahel Argama."

Roz lowered his hand and looked at the two standing beside him.

"Ah?"

Murrue froze. She had never expected Roz to make her captain, especially since she had just commanded the sinking of a warship. Rationally, Natarle might have been more suited for the position.

"Alright… okay."

Once Murrue realized what was happening, she instinctively saluted Roz.

"…I understand. I hope I can live up to your trust."

Compared to Murrue's unexpected reaction, Natarle seemed to have anticipated it.

"So, how should the rest of the crew be assigned?"

Although technically they should have asked Murrue's opinion as captain, considering that this warship was Roz's private property, Natarle thought for a moment and then asked Roz.

"Assign them according to the positions on the Archangel. The specifics can be arranged by Murrue."

Roz scratched his head. "You know, I'm best at making things or piloting MSs. Let's leave this kind of professional work to the professionals."

-----------------------------------

Before coming to this world, Roz had also seen some slices of the movie version. Although he had forgotten much of it, he remembered the appearance of the Millennium warship quite clearly. While he knew that the prototype of this warship was the Super Minerva class, many modifications were made in subsequent designs. To make a distinction, he casually named it the Millennium-class.

As for why he was so impressed by the Millennium, it was probably because that thermal ramming attack triggered the Green-Skin gene within Roz.

Back to the main point: although the new Nahel Argama used the appearance of the Millennium, its overall size was nearly doubled. Roz spent a considerable amount of money on the warship, so when upgrading the Jegans, he had to carefully calculate for the best cost-performance ratio.

The result was that the Nahel Argama's hangar space was very spacious, and the lift for the catapult deck could accommodate an MA-form ReZEL without feeling cramped, unlike the original.

Most of the Nahel Argama incorporated technology from the Archangel, such as the nuclear fusion reactor and thrusters. These were added after repeatedly modifying the blueprints. Of course, some abstract designs were also removed during the updates.

For example, the abstract glass dome that would appear in the bridge when entering combat mode was deleted by Roz.

When Murrue and the others entered the Nahel Argama's bridge, Christina was already waiting there.

At the rear of the bridge, a huge blue Haro was quietly docked in a dedicated fixed position, its teal eyes blinking as it observed the people entering.

The Haros stationed at various control panels also simultaneously turned to look at the newcomers. This scene made Miriallia, as a girl, feel a little uneasy deep down.

But soon, the Haros turned back and went about their respective tasks.

"Come over, I'll introduce the specific armaments to you."

Christina looked at Murrue, who was observing the bridge, and nodded.

"The entire Nahel Argama is equipped with eight Lohengrin Positron Blaster Cannons—four at the bow, two on each wing."

As she spoke, Christina brought up the Nahel Argama's various weapons on the console in front of her.

"Three quadruple Gottfried large-caliber beam cannons—two in front of the bridge, one at the rear of the warship—and a central quadruple Valiant railgun for emergency situations…"

"These armaments…"

Looking at the schematic marked with familiar yet slightly strange weapon names, Murrue froze for a moment.

"Familiar, isn't it?"

Christina calmly explained to Murrue, "Although these weapons weren't used at first, Roz later updated the blueprints using the same weapons as the Archangel and strengthened their designs."

"Moreover, part of this warship's data comes from a copy of the Archangel's data."

On the screen, the schematic of the warship continuously cycled through its various armaments.

The thermal ramming attack, beam storm, sixteen-tube missile launchers, eight remote-controlled floating cannons, countless defensive turrets, and hell darts—all appeared one by one on the Nahel Argama's display.

"For digital lifeforms, data is their soul. That is to say…"

Christina looked seriously at Murrue and Natarle, speaking each word deliberately.

"You can understand it as… the Nahel Argama is a continuation of the Archangel."
