Chapter 3 - Shadows and Possessive Light

Chapter 3: Shadows and Possessive Light

Kael stood on the edge of the ruined city, the Summoner's Mark blazing bright against the twilight sky. Beside him, Lyria hovered, her radiant aura spilling warmth and light over the ash-strewn streets.

"Who are you calling this time, husband?" she asked, her silver eyes narrowing slightly, though her voice remained soft.

Kael smirked. "Someone… a little more chaotic." He drew a sigil in the air, black smoke curling as he chanted the forbidden words.

From the darkness, a rift tore open. The shadows writhed and hissed as a towering figure stepped forth: a demon with jagged horns, eyes like molten gold, and a grin that promised destruction.

"You dare summon me, mortal?" the demon growled, bowing his head in mock respect.

Before Kael could answer, Lyria's aura flared blindingly bright.

"Husband! He is not to touch you!" she demanded, her voice ringing with divine authority. The demon's grin faltered slightly, feeling the heat of her possessive power.

Kael raised a hand to calm her. "Relax, Lyria. He's on my side… for now."

The demon chuckled, circling him. "Ah… a mortal who commands both gods and demons. Intriguing. And… you've bound her heart to yours? Bold."

Lyria's silver hair swirled around Kael protectively. "He is mine. You will not deceive him. You will obey him, or be destroyed."

The demon's grin turned sharper, sensing the tension. "Delightful… I do love a challenge. Mortal, shall we strike bargains? Power for power?"

Kael nodded. "Yes. But know this: you will answer to menand only me."

The demon bowed low, fire flickering along his horns. "Then I am yours… in contract."

Lyria hovered closer, resting her glowing hand on Kael's shoulder. "Husband," she whispered, her eyes flickering with both light and warning. "Do not tempt me to show you what happens to those who touch you."

Kael chuckled, feeling a thrill run through him. Two powers divine and infernal bound to me. And one goddess utterly devoted… perhaps dangerously so.

The world trembled around them, yet Kael felt untouchable. With Lyria's love shielding him and a demon bound to his will, he was no longer just a mortal. He was something far greater something the heavens and the underworld would have to respect… or fear.
