Chapter 2: The Goddess of Eternal Vows
The ruins of the city still smoldered when Kael closed his eyes and pressed his palm to the ground. The Summoner's Mark burned hotter than ever, and a soft, melodic voice whispered through the veil between worlds:
"You… summon me."
The air shimmered as if reality itself had been painted anew. Then, before him, a woman appeared a goddess, radiant yet human in form, with flowing silver hair that seemed to contain the light of stars and eyes that pierced straight into Kael's soul.
"You called me, husband," she said, her tone neither question nor statement, but absolute certainty.
Kael blinked. Husband?
"Uh…" he started, unprepared for a goddess with such… assumptions. "I uh… yes, I summoned you. But… husband?"
The goddess, whose name was revealed as Lyria, Goddess of Eternal Vows, smiled. It was both tender and commanding.
"Our contract is formed, and I shall serve only the one I am bound to. That one is you… my husband."
Her aura radiated devotion so powerful that even the demons he had summoned earlier flinched. And yet, Kael felt no fear. Instead, he felt a thrill unlike any before. This goddess would obey him but with the intensity of divine love, loyalty, and perhaps something even more dangerous: possession of the heart.
Kael extended his hand. "Then… we are bound. Tell me, what can you do?"
Her smile deepened. "I shall grant you protection beyond mortal means, foresight to navigate the gods' whims, and power that can bind even the most ferocious demon. But know this: I serve you as my husband, not as a master."
Kael's smirk returned. "Perfect. I don't plan to hold you back… as long as you're on my side."
The goddess knelt before him, shimmering light spilling across the ruins. "Always, my husband. Always."
Even as the world outside teetered between divine and infernal chaos, Kael realized something thrilling: the balance of power had just shifted. And in this shift, he now had an ally whose devotion was absolute and personal.
The world would soon learn that Kael Thorne not only summoned gods and demons but also commanded love itself from the divine.
