Chapter 6 - My time with you...

The fire crackled like whisper; the flame burned as the smell of rain mixed with soil clung the air like nature's perfume. Around the firepit were black char, they clung to the ground, merging with it. Sticky, stubborn.

The darkness enveloped the verdant forest of Ruthenia as the relentless storm outside had come to a halt. The low rhythmic pitter patter of the rain synced with the sound of fire's crackle creating a source of warmth in the cave's coldness, which had vanished as if never there.

There in the hollow mouth of the cave two-tiered bodies lay slumped against its rocky walls.

Eleanor slept like an infant. Her nimble frame pressed against the cobblestone. her lips pursed as her chest rose and fell with every little pulse.

Slav:

My eyes fluttered opened as it then felt to the women not too far beside me. The darkness wrapped around the cave as only the fire that I had previously made provided some sort of light.

Her face glow under the warmth as I watched her without any move or even a flicker of my eyes. Her lips quivered from the cold as she shifted restlessly.

Before I could stop myself, my hands reached for her fingers, softly I grazed her face. Her eyebrows held a slight crease as I then quickly pulled away. her lips parted. Nothing came other than a huff of smoke.

She was out cold.

My heart raced as I then got on my foot and strode to her. Slumping to the ground beside her. I took her by her torse and pressed her head against my chest.

Her nimble frame instantly clung to me as I then began to caress her back. My eyes stayed on her tiny face. Her hands instantly clutched at my leather coated shoulder blade as her lips moved in a soft whisper.

I watched over her, adored by her every move. Then stripped my gaze away from her as I stared at the ceiling.

My gosh... am I this desperate...? my back arched as I then let out a breathy chuckle. Then my eyes came to focus glistening with blaze.

Yes, blaze. The burning urge-- to engulf my very own self and everything that is around me. A reckless fool who will willingly pick up fights with anyone. Even with whom he wouldn't amount to.

Her fingers then circled my vein, slow, lingering making my muscle tense.

Hah...

My eyes then fell to the woman who slept, oblivious to the man I was.

Even a spark of my breath made any men tremble. I'm the master, master Slav...

Slav! ...

Slav! ...

My lips curled as the voice of her calling me rung through my mind. "Slav" she had called. Slav... as though she owned my name.

I grazed her fingers, feeling in the low unrhythmic thrum of her heart. Heat sizzled her face from the trails of my touch as I then placed her back against the rusty wall.

Getting on my foot, my eyes fell to the outside world. The faint shade of grey painted the sky. The relentless rain finally came to a halt.
