Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 - Success similar to Overlord.

I'll post an extra chapter every 400 Power Stones. Good luck with that!

Goal for the next extra chapter: 284/400

After our conversation, Miu left me alone and walked away. She seemed to be in a hurry. She was visibly nervous. I smiled and looked at my MacBook. I wanted to write a bit more, but I didn't have time.

I took a cheese sandwich out of my bag and ate it quickly.

I'm hungry…

Even though I had eaten a lot before coming to school, it wasn't enough.

I put my MacBook back in my bag and returned to the classroom. When I walked in, everyone fell silent and looked at me. "What is it?" I asked. But they pretended not to hear and went back to what they were doing.

I sat down at my desk, and Mirai, sitting next to me, asked,

"What were you doing?"

"I was eating."

"Hmm… I see." Mirai seemed a bit upset.

What the hell?

I rested my head on the desk and ended up falling asleep again. When I woke up, everyone in the classroom was gone. The teacher was the one who woke me. As soon as I did, she said,

"You can't sleep in class, Kyo. Even if your grades are perfect, you still have to pay attention."

"I'm sorry, teacher. I stayed up all night working."

"Working?"

"Yes, something like that."

"Does it have anything to do with you missing class some days during the week? You're a model, right? The principal spoke to the teachers about it."

"Yes, something like that." I stood up and grabbed my bag.

"But at night?"

"Good afternoon, teacher. See you tomorrow."

"But tomorrow is Saturday."

"Oh, right. See you on Monday."

I left the teacher behind and walked out of the classroom. As soon as I stepped outside, three girls were waiting for me. It was the same group of three friends from before. It had been a long time since I last went out with them.

They invited me to go to a restaurant. I had promised them a while ago that I would go out to eat with them, but I never did.

After thinking for a bit, I ended up turning down the invitation.

They looked disappointed, but I didn't mind.

As soon as I left the school, Daiki was waiting for me outside.

"How was class?"

"I slept through the whole thing because I stayed up all night."

"Working?"

"Yes, something like that."

"Here, take this." Daiki handed me a can of coffee and a piece of paper.

"Thanks."

I opened the can to drink on the way and then looked at the paper. It contained information about a person: short black hair, bright red lipstick, and strange yellow teeth.

It's the same woman who gave me that paper with the email.

It was a document with all her information.

Noriko Maeda? What an ugly name.

She's 45 years old and works for a newspaper called "Tokyo Star Press." It's a small online outlet. They also have a small magazine that isn't very popular. Does she hold an important position there?

That information wasn't included.

"Rina said she's already dealing with that woman. She's getting support from Mr. Rikuya."

"I see. I wonder how they're going to handle her."

"They usually offer money to make people stop investigating something, but I don't know if that'll work this time," Daiki said. He seems to understand this world quite well.

"And if it doesn't?"

"Mr. Rikuya has many connections. If that woman doesn't stop investigating, she'll lose her job and her life will be ruined. It'll be hard for her to find another job after that."

"That's…"

Isn't that a bit too much?

I find journalists very annoying, but that could seriously ruin her life.

'Well… I hope she makes the right choice.'

A few days passed after that. I didn't hear anything about that woman named Noriko from Rina or Daiki—it was as if she had never existed. My identity also wasn't leaked online.

They probably took care of it.

I stood up from my chair and looked at the final page of chapter 31 of Dragon Ball that I was finishing. Now I had a lot of chapters stockpiled. I'll only publish one chapter per week, so I have 31 weeks' worth of content.

But I need to make even more chapters.

And Tensura? I've already started writing volume seven, but I still haven't contacted Mr. Kuroda to discuss the contract.

Right now, he's focused on Oregairu.

The first volume was a huge success. It sold nearly 100,000 copies in its first week alone. It was almost on the same level of success as Overlord, even though it's a romance.

That's really impressive.

According to Mr. Kuroda, they were already preparing a manga adaptation, and an anime adaptation would certainly happen in the future. But an anime would only be announced after volume 4 at the earliest.

I already have all the volumes ready. Should I send him volume 2?

One volume per month is enough, right?

So I sat down again and wrote an email to Mr. Kuroda.

I attached volume 2 of Oregairu. I also informed him that I already had several volumes ready for a new fantasy work that I wanted to start publishing soon.

He'll definitely go crazy.

I laughed right after sending the email.

And at that exact moment, I was surprised by a new email.

It's from that girl named Asuna.

She greeted me politely and said she had spoken with her superiors about Oregairu, and they liked the script. However, they didn't have the funds to invest in the film.

They were looking for a production company.

I replied that it was fine and that once everything was settled, I'd like to meet them to sign a contract. I want to make money from this film too, of course.

After sending the email to Asuna, my mother entered the room.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes, I'm ready."

Today is the day of my shooting.
