Viona's POV
The funny thing about this whole situation was that I understood exactly why Rafael was behaving the way he was.
And I hated that I understood it.
He was being selfish, running away on his own and throwing himself into saving the world like some hero, while I was left behind to deal with the aftermath of the Kingston tragedy revelation by myself.
"So... so Rafael knows everything now?" Clara Kleith stammered from the sofa across from me, her eyes widened dramatically as I told her and her husband everything.
They had not even changed clothes after returning from their overseas beach holiday. The moment they heard Rafael had gone back to the war zone, they came straight from the airport.
I lowered my gaze, keeping my expression blank to hide my irritation.
"Yes. He knows everything. And he is trying to avoid anything related to it."
"Oh God..." Clara gripped her husband's hand tightly, clearly struggling to keep herself from falling apart. "That poor thing. Oh..."
