Chapter 26 - Tag

In mid-August, everyone returned to London, except Barry and "Harry," who came back with Burrow, because Henry stayed at MACUSA...

At that moment, the boys were visiting the Weasleys, because they were going to the championship very soon. Ron babbled to Harry about Quidditch and how wonderful Viktor Krum, the Bulgarian Seeker, was. They planned to leave in the morning.

He was walking down an unfamiliar corridor when he heard voices in the distance.

"Hurry up, Tail, hurry!" hissed one of those present.

"My lord, perhaps we should do without the boy after all?" squeaked another.

He saw a room with a chair in it and a plump, rather unpleasant-looking man kneeling in front of it.

"No!" cried the man, whose face he could not see. "Nothing can be done without the boy! And it must be done as I said..."

"I won't disappoint you, my lord!" Another man approached the chair. He was more pleasant-looking, but still did not inspire any confidence.

"Excellent! Gather all your supporters and give them the signal!

And then a snake slithered under his feet, headed for the room and climbed onto the chair.

"Mmm, Nagaina says there's an old Muggle janitor standing right outside the door!

Realising that he had been exposed, the man hurried to leave, but the plump man with the unpleasant smile immediately appeared in front of him.

"Step aside, Tail," ordered the voice. "I will greet the guest as is customary. Avada Kedavra!"

Hermione arrived early in the morning, and it was her responsibility to wake the others.

"Ah!" Harry woke up first and rubbed his eyes in alarm.

"Harry, are you okay?" the girl asked.

"Yes, I just had a bad dream," the boy looked ahead for a moment, and then, when he was fully awake, asked, "When did you arrive?"

 "Just now, and you?

 "Last night!

"Oh, let me sleep!" Barry muttered from a little further away.

"Get up, come on!" Hermione grabbed the blanket that the boy had pulled over his head and pulled it off with a sharp movement. Then she started poking Ron. "Ron! Wake up!"

 "What the hell!" Ron protested.

"And don't you dare try to go back to sleep," Hermione said a little louder when the boy lay back down. "Get up, Ronald! Your mum has already made breakfast."

In the end, the girl ran away, and the three boys looked at each other. After a non-verbal agreement, they woke up completely and started getting dressed.

The morning was cold, which made them even more sleepy. Soon, the group finally reached the place where they met two people: Amos Diggory and his son Cedric.

She had reached this place. Burrow really didn't want to come here, but she hadn't been here for almost thirteen years. When Lily was still alive, she often invited her to visit, but she couldn't accept the invitations because of work, work, work. Now Burrow regretted not accepting any of the invitations. And now she was standing over her grave. The cemetery looked quite eerie, many of the graves were overgrown, and the inscriptions on them were faded, even though they were carved in stone, but nevertheless, time had taken its toll on them. In fact, this cemetery was a perfect setting for horror films, in which the living dead would rise from these very graves and devour their victims. However, the Potter grave was not scary, quite the opposite. This place stood out for its neatness and decency. Unlike the other inhabitants of this cemetery, the Potters were looked after. A fresh bouquet of lilies, no more than three days old, lying precisely above Lily's name, only confirmed this. It meant that someone came here, someone took care of the grave.

The Quidditch Championship was remembered for the victory of the Irish, even despite the talent of Viktor Krum, the defeat of the Bulgarians was obvious. There was a festive atmosphere in the camp, with fans loudly celebrating the victory. But in the tent of the Weasley family and their friends, a real scandal almost broke out. Ron was depressed that his idol had lost to the Irish, while the rest were having fun and relaxing.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise outside the tent.

"The Irish are getting out of hand," George shrugged.

"It's not the Irish," Arthur said fearfully, looking at what was happening.

Now the noise turned into screams, and it was clear that something had to be done. Everything was happening so fast that Harry tried to catch up with his friends, but a huge crowd separated them, so he had to act on instinct.

He saw a small group of people in strange masks marching grandly, throwing spells. It wasn't hard to guess that they were the cause of the general panic.

"Harry" couldn't run, and then he fell to the ground because someone pushed him without noticing. After that, the poor guy was simply crushed and lost consciousness...

He woke up when it was already dark, everyone had scattered, and only burnt tents remained of the camp. But the first thing that caught Harry's attention was a huge skull hanging in the air, with a snake crawling out of its mouth. A dark mark.
