Chapter 12 - Little boxes

Barry opened his eyes. There was a lot of smoke around him. He tried to remember what he had been doing before he ended up here, but he couldn't quite manage it.

He just kept walking forward, trying to concentrate and see what he had no idea about. Barry wasn't afraid, he was just a little nervous about the fact that he was in an unknown place and was walking to an unknown destination.

A forest appeared ahead, the thick tree tops hiding the night sky, making the place seem very gloomy. The trees themselves were black and tall. Barry continued walking forward, holding his stick at the ready — he still didn't know where he had found it, but that didn't matter.

The man came to the edge of the forest. The night sky was studded with stars, and a full moon was visible in the distance. Unlike the forest, the edge of the forest did not seem gloomy, but rather inviting.

Then a figure passed Barry, wearing a cloak with a hood that hid his face. The man was carrying several small boxes, which he placed in front of him.

"Excuse me!" Allen called out. "Do you happen to know where I am?"

But the stranger did not answer, only continued to busy himself with the boxes. Barry moved a little closer to get a better look at him and his boxes. But as soon as he approached and touched them, he realised he couldn't do it. The man in the cloak was like a ghost.

"Spiritum sanctum exsurge!" said the man in the robe.

The boxes began to open, and energy began to seep out of them, soon taking shape. Human shape.

"Why did you disturb me?" asked the spirit.

The man removed his robe, and Barry saw her face. He couldn't understand where he knew her from, but he knew her. She had long, wheat-coloured hair and eyes as blue as a clear summer sky.

"Can I meet them?" the girl asked.

"You know what you have to do.

"But I don't want to die!"

"Then there is no other option.

"Why not?"" the girl cried. "It won't be for long! I miss them! I need them so much..."

Suddenly, the spirit began to fly around the girl, and then around Barry himself. The man began to feel his body fill with heaviness, his limbs becoming more tangible, and the stick in his hands took shape.

"You're lucky," the spirit said to the girl, pointing at Barry. "One is already here. Your desire to see your friends summoned him."

The girl turned to Barry himself.

"Barry?" Her eyes glistened with tears.

"Kara?!" Now he remembered who she was. "What? How...

Supergirl hugged her friend so tightly that he had to hiss in pain. Hearing this, Kara immediately let go of him, looking guilty.

"I'm so glad to see you!" the girl began. "I missed you so much..."

"I missed you too," Barry smiled.

"How's it going? In the afterlife? Is there a heaven? You know, someone like you deserves nothing but heaven..."

"Ha," he chuckled. "I'm not exactly in the afterlife, I'm... I'm in another world."

"What?" Kara's eyes widened. "How is that possible?! But you...

"I'm in shock myself, yes. I woke up in a different body because mine was already dead. The monitor sent me there to complete my final mission.

"But hasn't the multiverse's balance been restored?

"Almost. There's just one small detail left.

Kara Danvers stood with her mouth wide open. She couldn't believe what was happening, but Barry saw hope in her eyes. Hope that she would be able to meet him again, and not just like this.

"How will I find you?" she asked. She didn't even bother to ask if he wanted to. Of course he did! It didn't even need to be asked.

"Well..." Barry knelt down, and Kara followed him. "You know, this is a rather unusual land... Do you have Harry Potter on your land?"

"We did," she replied quietly. "A wonderful work... Wait, you don't mean to say that..."

"I woke up in Harry Potter's body, and I've been living in it for almost a year now. In this land, everything we thought was a fairy tale from a book is reality. In this land, I even have a doppelganger! And he's a wizard, like many others.

Kara laughed nervously.

"My land was destroyed," she sighed sadly and began her story. "After that happened, I and the other survivors of my family and friends moved to your Earth-1. We joined forces and now we are working together to protect this world.

"Time is running out!" the spirit interrupted.

"Find me, do you hear me?! Find me!" Barry grabbed her by the shoulders. "Please!

 "I will definitely do it!

And then Barry began to dissolve into thin air... He woke up in his bed in the Gryffindor dormitory and saw the frightened face of his young double, who soon smiled.

"Don't, Ron!" The boy turned away. "He's awake!"

"Merlin's beard!" Ron Weasley ran up to them. "Harry! What happened to you?

"I..." Barry scratched the back of his head, he could hear Harry's voice again. "I had a dream.

"What kind of dream?" The doppelganger squinted and then exhaled loudly. "You were tossing and turning in your sleep, talking to someone named Kara, asking her to find you..."

"Yes, we tried to wake you up," added Ron. "But you didn't wake up, and at one point you stopped breathing altogether. We got scared and wanted to call the adults.

"Did you hear anything else?" asked Harry.

 "No, nothing, why?" Barry shrugged.

"Nothing," he dismissed it immediately. "You know, I'm really tired, so..."

"But you'll tell us about that dream in the morning, okay?" Ron asked.

 "Okay.

The boys settled back into their beds, and Harry, who was already lying in his bed, simply wrapped himself up more tightly and closed his eyes. If it was really true and he had actually seen Cara, then she would soon find him. It would be useful to have a Professor of Cryptonian at Hogwarts.
