Joshua took a deep breath before finally looking at Alvano with a serious expression.
"Vano, two people have been looking for you since yesterday. And today, they came to class again to find you."
Alvano, who was sitting back on the sofa, immediately straightened his posture. "Who are they?" he asked in a confused tone.
Theo, sitting beside him, quickly straightened up. "Don't tell me they're the guys I beat up that time?" he said casually, though there was a hint of tension in his eyes.
Joshua shook his head. "No. They're not those guys."
The room fell silent for a moment. Joshua looked at Alvano seriously before finally continuing.
"They're from Velmont's student council."
Alvano was shocked. "Student council?"
Theo immediately squinted. "Huh? The student council is looking for you?" His tone was full of suspicion.
Theo knew very well that Velmont's student council wasn't just an ordinary student organization. They were a group of elite students who held great influence in the school. Not only because they were outstanding, but also because they were known to have control over many things that happened at Velmont. If someone was being sought by the student council, it wasn't something to take lightly.
"Did they mention why they were looking for Vano?" Theo asked, tapping his fingers on the table.
Joshua shook his head. "No. They just asked if Vano was in class or not. When I said he wasn't, they left right away."
Alvano frowned. He had never had any dealings with the student council. In fact, he always tried to avoid crowds and attention. So why were they looking for him?
Theo crossed his arms. "I don't like this. Since when has the student council been interested in someone like you?"
Alvano looked lazily at Theo. "What do you mean, someone like me?"
"You know what I mean." Theo glared at him. "You always avoid trouble, always try not to draw attention. But suddenly the student council is after you? That's suspicious."
Joshua nodded in agreement. "I think it's strange too. Usually, the student council only deals with students who have a big influence in school. Either they're high achievers, in trouble, or… something about them caught attention."
Alvano sighed. "I don't even know who they are. Did they mention their names?"
Joshua thought for a moment before replying, "I only remember one of them was a girl, long silver hair tied up. The other one was a guy, kinda tall, and his face was cold like a statue—pretty weird."
Theo whistled softly. "If the girl's like that, I can guess. Most likely Amelia Veil. She's the vice president of the student council—super smart and a total perfectionist."
Alvano frowned. "And the guy?"
Joshua shrugged. "I don't know much about the student council, but he looked like someone with high authority."
Theo sighed. "Then it's probably William Aubert. Tall, cold face like a statue, he's in charge of security."
Alvano started feeling uneasy. "I've never even talked to them. Why are they suddenly looking for me?"
Theo shook his head. "I want to know that too. But if they're really serious about meeting you, sooner or later they'll come again."
Joshua looked at Alvano worriedly. "So what will you do? Meet them or keep avoiding them?"
Alvano thought for a moment before answering, "I think I should at least find out why they're looking for me. If it's something important, I'll listen to what they have to say."
Theo snorted. "Alright, but I still don't like this. If anything feels suspicious, don't hesitate to refuse or walk away."
Joshua nodded. "I agree with Theo. We need to be careful."
Alvano looked at his two friends and nodded. Deep down, he knew something big was happening.
The sound of a car engine roared from outside, making Theo, Alvano, and Joshua instinctively turn toward the window.
Theo, still lost in thought about the student council, immediately forgot everything when he saw a truck carrying motorcycles stop right in front of his house. His eyes widened in excitement.
"Whoa, what's that?!" Theo jumped off the sofa and ran out of the house at full speed, almost hitting the door.
Alvano and Joshua, who were initially calm, grew curious and followed him outside.
When they came out, the truck began unloading a shiny sport motorcycle, its design so sleek it seemed to slice through the afternoon air. And right beside the truck, Arwen stepped out of her car elegantly, walking calmly toward them.
But for Theo, the whole world suddenly moved in slow motion. His eyes were locked on one thing only—his new motorcycle.
A Ducati Panigale V4.
A luxury sport bike that many could only dream of. With an aerodynamic design, blazing red color radiating an aura of luxury and speed, and that unmistakable engine sound.
Theo was stunned. His jaw nearly hit the asphalt.
"Y-You… y-you're serious…?" Theo turned to Arwen with disbelief, eyes sparkling like a kid who just got his dream toy. "This… is really for me?"
Arwen smiled faintly, holding back laughter at Theo's over-the-top reaction. "Of course."
Theo looked like he was having a mild heart attack. He clutched his chest, making sure this wasn't a dream.
Joshua, now seeing Arwen clearly, narrowed his eyes slightly. Her face looked very familiar. Then, unconsciously, he muttered softly,
"You… you were at the hospital yesterday, weren't you?"
Arwen glanced at him briefly, then gave a faint smile. "Maybe."
Meanwhile, Alvano approached Arwen, looking at her with a blank expression before whispering, "You shouldn't waste your money on something like this."
Arwen turned to him, smiling lightly. "It's not a waste if it's useful."
Alvano sighed, realizing it was pointless to argue with someone who had clearly made up her mind.
On the other hand, Theo couldn't care less about anything around him. He was already in his own world.
With sparkling eyes full of affection, he caressed the bike's body like someone meeting their soulmate.
"Oh… my love… I swear I'll protect you with all my heart…" he whispered dramatically.
Joshua and Alvano could only stare at him with mixed looks of disgust and pity.
Theo then sat on the bike, his hands gripping the handlebars proudly. He turned to Arwen with an almost tearful expression.
"I'm serious, if I can't pay for this, I'm willing to be your personal bodyguard for life."
Arwen just laughed softly. "That's unnecessary, goodness."
Theo clutched his chest, exhaling deeply. "Damn… I could die happy right now."
Alvano immediately smacked Theo on the back of the head. "Don't die yet, idiot."
Arwen felt something different. A strange warmth spread through her heart as she watched Theo's excitement and Alvano's uncharacteristic calmness.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle delivery truck drove off after Arwen signed the handover papers given by the driver. Theo, still overwhelmed with euphoria, eagerly invited Arwen into his house.
But something was off. Theo had changed drastically.
Normally, he was a shameless troublemaker who did whatever he wanted. But now? He walked slower, opened the door politely, and even pulled out a chair for Arwen to sit.
Joshua, noticing the drastic change, immediately looked at Alvano with a disgusted expression.
"He's seriously turned into Arwen's loyal servant…" he muttered, rubbing his temples.
Alvano just snorted, unsurprised by Theo's behavior whenever it involved something—or someone—he liked.
Once they sat down, Arwen suddenly spoke in a serious tone.
"I've found a lead about the man in the black jacket who attacked us yesterday."
Instantly, Theo's expression changed drastically. From glowing with joy, he turned serious and focused.
"Who is he?" Alvano asked, his eyes locked on Arwen with determination.
Arwen continued, "After I filed the report, the police acted quickly. They sent over security camera footage from various locations. And it turns out… that man has been a wanted criminal for a long time. He's been involved in multiple night robberies."
Alvano crossed his arms, his expression calm. "Then what should we do next?"
Arwen looked at them coldly. "Don't do anything. Leave it all to the authorities."
