Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Puny Hulk!

Harlem, New York. Once the cultural center of jazz and soul food. Now, it looked more like an unfortunate victim that two angry monsters had chosen as their wrestling ring. Everyone wanted to know what on earth had happened today.

Who could understand?

One minute you're happily sitting at home eating hotpot and singing songs, and the next, your beautiful life is destroyed by two guys who appeared out of nowhere.

Not only is your home gone, but perhaps your wife is, too.

Most importantly, these two guys wouldn't have to pay for the damage, and no one knew if the insurance company would cover it.

"ROAR!!!"

Hulk let out an earth-shattering roar. He grabbed a yellow taxi and hurled it at the hideous Abomination across from him like a baseball.

Abomination, Emil Blonsky, a war machine whose mind and body were twisted by the Super-Soldier Serum. As a typical British soldier, he was extremely jealous of Bruce Banner's life.

He wanted to know, Why him?!

Why did Banner get to have an ability like the Hulk, while he had to rely on miserable firearms?!

The hardest part for him was having to listen to an arrogant old man's commands. So, he merged Banner's blood with the Super-Soldier Serum, intending to become another Hulk, but instead transformed into a miniature Godzilla.

His rage was truly intense, almost tangible, igniting a fire in his heart. At this moment, he felt like he was about to explode!

Seeing Hulk's attack, he flashed a cruel grin. He didn't dodge, using his equally massive fist to smash the flying taxi into a heap of scrap metal!

"Puny Hulk!" Abomination's voice was hoarse and grating.

"Is that all the strength you have?!"

Their every clash made the ground tremble. The asphalt road was easily ripped apart. Fire hydrants were torn from the ground, sending geysers of water shooting up in the chaos.

The surrounding buildings were effortlessly demolished like blocks of wood; steel and concrete were as fragile as cookies in their presence.

No wonder people say America is developed—they rebuild buildings every few days; it's hard not to look good.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the sky, several armed helicopters belonging to the US military hovered in a futile circle. Cannons spat fire, pouring dense bullets onto the two monsters, only to spark off a series of weak flashes, not even enough to scratch them.

"Damn it! Increase the firepower! Pin him down!" General Ross roared into the communicator from one of the helicopters. His weathered face was beet red with anger. He looked at the apocalyptic scene below, his teeth grinding.

He had always wanted to capture the Hulk and harness that uncontrollable power for his own use. But his dreams were far from reality. Not only did he fail to capture him, but now, his soldier had injected himself with the serum.

That was one thing, but now, Blonsky, who should have been a controllable Abomination, was also completely out of control!

These two behemoths were slowly smashing his life's work and military career into pieces. He knew for a fact that those idiots at the Pentagon who only sat in offices drinking coffee would place all the blame for this incident on him tomorrow!

"Connect me to the ground troops! All units! Prepare to fire the high-frequency sonic weapon! I'm going to give those two monsters a headache!"

he ordered with gritted teeth. His rage was almost palpable. If his anger was transferred to the Hulk, the Hulk would probably instantly transform into a Super Saiyan and unleash a Kamehameha wave on the spot. After all, they both get stronger when they're angry, right?!

A few blocks away, several black Chevrolet Suburbans formed a temporary command centre. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were meticulously operating various high-tech equipment, monitoring every corner of the battlefield.

Coulson, always dressed in a neat suit and wearing his good-guy smile, held binoculars, watching the real-life Godzilla vs. King Kong in the distance, all while providing commentary.

"Director, I'm on site," he reported to Nick Fury over the comms.

"I must say, the scale of this urban renewal project in Harlem is a bit beyond imagination. Both demolition crew leaders are quite agitated, and the efficiency of the demolition is extremely high. I personally suggest we consider hiring them as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s official demolition consultants." Yes, they had successfully renamed the organization S.H.I.E.L.D., thinking it sounded more imposing.

"Coulson, this is not the time for bad jokes!" Nick Fury's low, stern voice came through the earpiece.

"I don't care what you have to do, you must find a way to stop them! Before they tear down the entire city of New York!"

"Sir, with all due respect, that is an extremely difficult mission," Coulson put down his binoculars, his face a look of resignation.

"According to our data analysis, unless we can find a hammer of the same size, and one that's even harder than them, all we can do now is evacuate the civilians and pray they get tired and stop on their own."

Nick Fury felt like he was having a heart attack. Why did these two have to fight in New York City?!

Just then, the battle took a new turn! Abomination found a weakness in the Hulk's defense and unleashed a flurry of devastating punches, slamming into the Hulk's chest and face! The Hulk was forced to retreat step by step. Finally, Abomination delivered a powerful, over-the-shoulder throw, slamming the Hulk into a nearby apartment building like a sandbag!

CRASH!

The building's wall was instantly breached, sending countless bricks and glass shards flying.

"Oh, it seems our green friend is temporarily at a disadvantage," Coulson continued his impassive field commentary.

"However, based on past experience, an attack of this magnitude will likely only make him angrier."

Indeed, before Abomination could celebrate his victory, a roar even more furious than before erupted from the building's ruins!

The next second, the green figure charged out again, his eyes completely consumed by the flames of rage!

He was like a maddened beast, relentlessly pounding Abomination without any semblance of fighting technique!

The battle began to shift towards the city centre, leaving behind a trail of devastated ruins.

"All units! Follow them!" General Ross roared in the helicopter.

"We follow, too," Coulson calmly ordered.

"Team One, clean up the battle zone and collect samples. Teams Two and Three, immediately evacuate civilians from the forward area. Remember, our primary mission is to ensure civilian safety."

The fighting reignited on the other side of the city. Abomination seemed to enjoy the violent combat, constantly taunting the Hulk in an attempt to provoke deeper anger.

"Is that all the strength you have, Hulk! You disappoint me!"

"Hulk!!!"

Hulk's response was always that one roar of fury. General Ross's ground troops had already set up a perimeter outside, but they only dared to watch from a distance, hesitant to intervene.

Are you kidding me!

Who dares to go in?!

I only get paid a few hundred bucks a month; I'm not going to risk my life!

On the General's helicopter, his daughter Betty watched the green figure below with worry, her eyes full of concern. Ross grew more and more irritated. What was wrong with his daughter?

A normal person wasn't good enough for her, but she fell for a guy who turns big when he gets emotional!

Doesn't she fear... Ross didn't dare to continue that thought.

Coulson and his agents had also arrived near the new battle zone. They hid behind building cover, watching the battle that was beyond human control, like a group of helpless spectators.

"Director, is there really nothing we can do?" a young agent couldn't help but ask.

"Sometimes, kid," Coulson patted his shoulder, his voice deep.

"Admitting your helplessness is also a form of professionalism."

On the battlefield, the fight between the Hulk and Abomination reached a fever pitch. Neither could completely suppress the other; they were locked in a drawn-out battle, hurting each other in the most primal way. They used cars as weapons, pulled up streetlights as spears. The entire street became their arsenal.
