Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 – Bibi Dong Takes Action

Chapter 7 – Bibi Dong Takes Action

"Sorry, I just need a bit of time to get used to this!" Qi Tian said awkwardly.

After a few moments of practice, he finally adapted. Raising his hand, he could shoot out a web of silk, and even spitting from his mouth could release the soul skill perfectly.

Seeing this, Bibi Dong finally relaxed a little. At least he didn't have to use any embarrassing places to activate the skill anymore.

Qi Tian glanced at a stone pillar at the edge of the training ground.

With a flick of his wrist, a strand of spider silk shot forth, wrapping tightly around the pillar.

Then, he pulled on the web and swung himself up into the air—dangling effortlessly like Spider-Man.

Bibi Dong's eyes widened in shock.

"How did you even come up with something like that?"

She herself had never thought of using her spider web this way—to swing through the air.

In certain terrains, this method could be incredibly useful, offering both agility and mobility advantages.

Qi Tian grinned. "That's what we call wisdom from the future!"

"If you don't want to say it, then forget it," Bibi Dong huffed, secretly memorizing the trick for later.

Though the skill came from a thousand-year soul ring, the strength of the web depended on how much soul power was poured into it.

That meant the skill didn't consume too much energy, allowing her to use it multiple times without much strain.

Next, Qi Tian tested her other two soul skills—[Thorned Spider Armor] and [Wrath of the Spider Queen].

Once he grew familiar with them, he began performing various movements with her possessed body, adapting to its speed and strength.

Under the full form of her Martial Soul Possession, Qi Tian found that the body could ignore terrain entirely, moving with terrifying speed and flexibility—like a creature straight out of a horror film.

"These spider legs are ugly as hell," Qi Tian muttered, "but they're ridiculously useful."

Bibi Dong's expression instantly darkened.

"Ugly? What part of them is ugly? Maybe you just have terrible taste in aesthetics!"

Qi Tian couldn't help but chuckle.

"Fine, fine. But have you ever thought about learning some close-combat techniques? Like martial arts or weapon combat?"

He gestured animatedly.

"Think about it— with those eight legs of yours, once you get close, your opponent's done for. They only have two hands. You have eight blades. You'd be unstoppable!"

Bibi Dong thought about it for a moment and nodded thoughtfully.

"You might be right. I'll… consider it."

After a while, Qi Tian's soul power was finally drained, forcing him to sit cross-legged and cultivate.

Controlling Bibi Dong's Martial Soul took a huge toll on his soul—especially managing those eight legs simultaneously.

Still, this training gave him a clearer direction for his own Blue Silver Grass cultivation.

He needed to refine it until he could command it as freely as a beast-type martial soul.

Night fell.

Bibi Dong refused to let Qi Tian take a bath, and Qi Tian didn't dare to argue.

So, he simply chose to meditate instead of sleeping.

At dawn, Qi Tian woke up from his old, creaky wooden bed.

"I'm back again!" he murmured, feeling a faint wisp of new soul power forming in his dantian. A satisfied smile crept onto his face.

"Let's skip weaving mats today. I'll go dig up some Blue Silver Grass to plant instead."

By morning, he had already gone into the wild and dug up plenty of Blue Silver Grass, planting them around his little hut.

In the afternoon, after completing his physical training, he began practicing control over the grass.

"Blue Silver Bind!"

The Blue Silver Grass in his hand merely trembled—showing no signs of wrapping around the target.

He sighed. "As expected… weapon-type martial souls are way harder to control than beast-type ones."

Still, Qi Tian didn't give up. He resolved to practice this every single day—to train his Blue Silver Grass until it became as flexible and responsive as a beast soul.

And today's practice wasn't without results—at least now, he could make the Blue Silver Grass tremble slightly!

That same day, while Bibi Dong was reading in her study, Yu Xiaogang came to see her again.

Her brows furrowed slightly.

The rose-tinted filter she once saw him through had long since shattered.

He wasn't handsome; his so-called "talent" was just a facade, and his cultivation aptitude was mediocre at best.

No matter how she looked at him, Bibi Dong simply couldn't bring herself to like Yu Xiaogang anymore.

Yu Xiaogang, oblivious to the growing disdain in her eyes, asked earnestly,

"Bibi Dong, I read something yesterday. It said that the last person to awaken twin martial souls… died during the process of absorbing a soul ring. Is that true?"

Bibi Dong froze for a moment, then felt a twinge of regret.

'Did I accidentally reveal the secret of twin martial souls to him?'

That secret was supposed to be known only by her teacher and a few high-ranking officials of Spirit Hall. Now, there was one more person who knew.

"Yes," she forced herself to answer calmly.

Yu Xiaogang's eyes flickered with ambition.

"Bibi Dong, you don't want to die like that someday, do you? I can help you solve this problem!"

He took a step closer, lowering his voice.

"But I'll need more theoretical support. Could you let me go upstairs to read those classified books?"

At last, his intentions were laid bare.

Yu Xiaogang did have a fondness for this beautiful girl before him, but compared to his ambitions, Bibi Dong's beauty was nothing. In his mind, fame and recognition far outweighed fleeting affection.

Bibi Dong frowned, her thoughts darkening. 'Such arrogance… but he's not wrong—my martial soul really is a problem.'

It was precisely because of this that she had always hesitated to cultivate her second martial soul. She feared she might die mysteriously like those before her.

Then suddenly, her eyes lit up.

'Wait… I might already have a way!'

She remembered Qi Tian—the mysterious man who claimed to be a soul from the future. And in that future, she herself became the Pope of Spirit Hall!

That alone proved she hadn't died from cultivating twin martial souls!

If Qi Tian truly came from the future, then he must know the secret behind cultivating twin martial souls safely. Not only could he help her overcome this danger, but it would also prove that his claims were genuine!

Unknowingly, Bibi Dong found herself looking forward to Qi Tian's next visit.

Yu Xiaogang, however, misunderstood the gleam in her eyes, thinking she was moved by his concern.

But her cold voice immediately shattered that illusion.

"Yu Xiaogang, that's the rule of Spirit Hall. If you want access to the upper archives, go apply to my teacher."

Yu Xiaogang's heart sank, his expression stiffening.

"Bibi Dong, don't you want to solve the problem with your twin martial souls?" he pressed.

"There's no need," Bibi Dong replied coolly. "I already have a way."

"What way?" Yu Xiaogang's heart skipped a beat.

If Bibi Dong had a method, he might be able to steal it—perhaps even find a solution for his own mutated martial soul.

Even if it didn't help him, he could record it in his so-called "Ten Core Theories of Martial Souls" and make a name for himself across the continent.

"Sorry," Bibi Dong said indifferently. "That's a Spirit Hall secret."

Then, her eyes flickered with calculation as she added,

"Unless, of course, you can offer something of equal value—a secret technique or a rare formula, for example."

Yu Xiaogang came from one of the Three Upper Sects, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Surely, they possessed valuable secret techniques and medicinal recipes.

If he could bring one out, she could gain something useful in return.

Yu Xiaogang's expression changed drastically. He understood what she meant—and it stung.

It wasn't that he didn't want to trade something, but as a man with a trash martial soul like Luo Sanpao, the clan's secret techniques were useless to him.

He only knew of one minor formula… Maybe that would work.

"Bibi Dong, this is a secret medicinal recipe from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan," he said reluctantly, pulling out a folded parchment.

"I don't know if it's enough to exchange for your method."

It was a body recovery medicine bath formula—something he would one day use to help the Shrek Seven Devils recover from overtraining.

Bibi Dong accepted it with a neutral expression.

"I'll hand this over to Spirit Hall's specialist physicians to verify its authenticity. I'll give you an answer in a few days."

Yu Xiaogang opened his mouth as if to speak, but no words came out.

In the end, he could only stand there in silence—his ambitions quietly eating away at him.
