Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

"Wow, this is way more impressive than when I saw it in the hologram while watching your stream!"

Alex exclaimed.

Experiencing it firsthand was completely different from just watching someone else play.

Felix chuckled as he took down an enemy.

He already had plenty of experience from playing with his employees, the game's flow came naturally to him.

In the middle of the match, he even spotted Niko, a shy person he knew, ranking near the top.

To his surprise, she was clearly better than both him and Alex, because her username was in the top ten leaderboard.

She and another player were constantly battling for a spot in the top three, but Felix had no idea who the second-place player was.

Alex exclaimed when he saw the top ranks and noticed the name in first place.

"Cecily is at the top again!"

Cecily had continuously been among the top players in every game Tierra Entertainment released.

Players even called her addicted. In the past, she rarely appeared, maybe once or twice in the games she joined, but now she was a known figure and often acted as a respected judge, giving opinions and feedback on gameplay.

Alex glanced at Felix, who was busy decorating his avatar.

He did not complain, he was the same way.

Alex enjoyed customizing his in-game characters.

Even though the system gave him a default avatar, ever since playing Tierra Entertainment's games, he had grown used to carefully choosing every detail of his appearance.

Felix finished styling his avatar.

His Inkling had long green hair that flowed like seaweed, with darker skin that glowed under the bright game colors.

The sharp eyes and confident stance made the character look cool.

"Are you ready? Let's go!" Alex called out.

Felix gave a thumbs up.

The viewers were urging them to start playing.

Seeing Felix still busy customizing his avatar, they waited patiently.

Felix truly felt like he was in a different world, where even the viewers were far kinder than the typical crowd on Twitter.

After seeing the animation of both their characters and hearing the music, Alex felt his adrenaline pumping.

Watching Felix's gameplay earlier had already given him ideas on how to play.

The two of them immediately moved forward side by side to push toward the enemy base.

Meanwhile, following their tactic, other teammates were firing from the right and left, then swimming through the ink to advance.

Felix stayed behind Alex, protecting his back from approaching enemies.

Alex shouted excitedly, "Take this!"

The enemy who heard him sneered. "Heh… you can't kill me with that!"

Both of them were on the verge of attacking each other. Alex swam to the right side, where there were blocks for cover.

The enemy tried to shoot him out in the open, but Alex was attempting to lure them into a trap.

"That's unfair! I'm a newbie!" Alex

complained.

The enemy laughed.

"Who cares if you are!"

They kept bickering while fighting.

Alex was still not used to the gun he was holding.

It was the one Felix had used in his stream, and Alex had thought it would be easier to use this type of weapon.

He was wrong, and he immediately regretted picking it.

Seeing Alex fighting one on one, Felix did not interrupt.

Instead, he took out players who were trying to join the fight or were close to the two in their heated moment.

Alex clutched his weapon and noticed another weapon nearby.

He recognized it as a basic newbie weapon the Splat Roller Jr.

Felix recommended it as a starter weapon known for its wide coverage and easy use, perfect for learning how to paint turf, swim in ink, and control movement around the map.

He saw his enemy was not attacking yet he immediately went for it, swimming swiftly through the ink that filled the box, where two colors blue and pink collided and mixed in swirling patterns.

The enemy was still a newbie like Alex.

When both spotted each other and raised their guns to shoot, they fired at the same time.

In an instant, both were splatted, falling to the ground together.

Alex and the enemy stared at the countdown timer in confusion, question marks floating above their heads.

The sudden double splat left the match tense but almost humorous.

The vibrant ink splattered everywhere as both players respawned, ready to jump back into the battle.

The clash showed how evenly matched they were despite being beginners.

Alex was equally confused about how he died.

He was clearly aiming carefully, but someone ruined it.

He was furious.

Felix, who watched it all, was laughing.

Both players had splatted each other at the same time, which was rare in Splatoon.

Seeing it happen like this made him laugh even harder.

While Felix was taking down enemies on the other side, the opposing team thought he was crazy.

They saw him shooting and laughing wildly while killing off their players.

The enemy team was stunned, and Felix's team won.

"Let's go, we won!"

"Ha ha ha, I finally leveled up!"

Felix loved watching the victory animation the most.

Even though it was a newbie team, the burst of emotions in the animation looked great.

The energetic music that played after the team won was lively and upbeat, with catchy electronic beats and a playful melody that perfectly captured the excitement of victory in Splatoon.

Alex saw it for the first time and said, "It feels like I want to play again." He didn't know why, but deep inside, he wanted to experience the feeling of winning like this with teammates.

He wanted to show off more.

Felix grinned, "Should we?"

Alex laughed, "Ha ha, let's go!"

From that moment, both of them worked hard to reach the top rank in Splatoon.

Meanwhile, other players who hesitated to buy the game at first were now trying to catch up and regretting their delay.
