Months passed...
I was finally in my last month of pregnancy.
My baby bump had become so big that even getting out of bed had started feeling difficult.
Because of that, everyone in the house had become extra protective of me.
Especially Keifer.
"Babe, don't get up."
"I am just going to the kitchen."
"I'll get it."
"Keifer, I only want water."
"I'll get it."
I crossed my arms.
"You know I have legs, right?"
He looked at me seriously.
"And you are carrying our son."
I sighed.

He smiled and went to get my water.
Kerein, who was sitting on the sofa, laughed.
"Kuya is getting too protective."
"I heard that," Keifer called from the kitchen.

A few minutes later, he got up and placed a pillow behind my back.

Jeenie was the most excited person in the house.
Every morning, she would come into our room and climb onto the bed.
"Mama!"
"Good morning, baby."
She placed both hands on my tummy.
"Is baby brother coming today?"

"Forever?"
She nodded.
"Yes."
Then she leaned closer to my tummy.
"Baby brother, please come soon. I want to meet you."

"Because I am his big sister."
Kerein was also excited about the baby.
One afternoon, he came into the room and looked at me.

"Strawberry ice cream."

Keifer stared at me.
"Babe... are you sure?"
I nodded.
"Yes."
Kerein laughed from the sofa.
"Kuya, good luck."
Keifer looked at him.
"Do you want to go to the mall with me?"
Kerein immediately shook his head.
"No."
I laughed.
Keifer grabbed his keys.
"I'll be back soon."
He came over, kissed my forehead, and gently touched my tummy.
"Don't trouble your Mama."
Jeenie immediately said,
"Papa, baby brother is a good boy!"
Keifer smiled.
"I know."
Then he kissed her forehead.
"Take care of Mama while I'm gone."
Jeenie nodded seriously.
"Yes, Papa!"
Kerein laughed.
"She really takes that seriously."
Keifer smiled and left.
A few minutes later, Kerein's phone rang.
He looked at the screen.
"My friend wants me to come over."
"Then go," I said.
"Okay. I'll be back later."
He looked at Jeenie.
"Take care of Ate Jay."
Jeenie nodded.
"I will."
Kerein smiled and left.
Later, Kegain came downstairs wearing a nice shirt.
I looked at him.
"Where are you going?"
"Out."
"With your girlfriend?"
He nodded.
"Yes."
Jeenie immediately looked at him.
"Tito has a girlfriend!"
Kegain sighed.
"You already know that."
"I know."
I laughed.
Kegain shook his head.
"I'm leaving."
"Have fun," I said.
He nodded and left.
And then...
It was just me and Jeenie.
Jeenie sat on the floor with her drawing book while I sat on the sofa.
"What are you drawing?" I asked.
"Our family."
I smiled.
"Really?"
She nodded.
"Papa, Mama, me, Tito Kerein, Tito Kegain... and baby brother."
I watched her color happily.
Everything was peaceful.
Then suddenly...
I felt something warm.
I froze.
I looked down.
Water.
My water broke.
"Jeenie..."
She immediately looked up.
"Mama?"
"Come here, baby."
She ran toward me.
"What happened?"
I held her hand.
"My water broke."
Her eyes widened.
"Baby brother is coming?"
I nodded.
She looked surprised for a moment.
Then she remembered what we had talked about before.
"Mama, we need to call the ambulance."
I smiled.
"Yes, baby."
She quickly picked up my phone.
I helped her dial the emergency number.
Someone answered.
Jeenie held the phone with both hands.
"Hello..."
She listened carefully.
Then she said in her tiny voice,
"My Mama's water broke."
She paused.

"Please come quickly."
With my help, she gave them our address.
Then she ended the call.
She came back and held my hand.
"Ambulance is coming, Mama."
I smiled.
"My smart girl."
She nodded.

A few minutes later, the ambulance arrived.
Jeenie looked toward the door.
"They're here!"
The paramedics came inside and checked me.
"Her contractions have started."
Jeenie held my hand.
"Mama, I am coming with you."
They carefully helped me onto the stretcher.
As they were taking me outside, I saw a familiar car parking in front of the house.
Keifer.
He had returned.
The moment he saw the ambulance, he stopped.
Then he saw me.
The shopping bags fell from his hands.
"Jay!"
He ran toward me.
"Babe, what happened?"
"My water broke."
His eyes widened.
"What?!"
Jeenie ran toward him.
"Papa! Baby brother is coming!"
Keifer looked at the ambulance and then at me.
"I just went to the mall!"
I laughed despite the pain.
"Your son couldn't wait."
Keifer immediately took my hand.
"Okay, okay. I'm here."
His hands were shaking.
Jeenie noticed.
"Papa, don't be scared."
"I am not scared."
She looked at his hands.
"Your hands are shaking."
Keifer looked down.
He sighed.
"Okay... maybe a little."
The paramedics helped us into the ambulance.
Keifer sat beside me and held my hand.
Keifer pov :
I was nervous the whole way to the hospital.
I kept looking at Jay.
"You're okay, right?"
She nodded.
"Yes."
"If you need anything, tell me."
"I know."
She squeezed my hand whenever the pain became stronger.
I just stayed beside her.
At the hospital, the doctors quickly took Jay inside.
I tried to follow her.
"Sir, please wait outside."
I stopped.
"But—"
Jay looked back at me.
"Keifer, I'll be okay."
I nodded.
"Okay."
The doors closed.
I sat down with Jeenie.
She was quiet for a moment.
"Papa?"
"Yes, baby?"
"Mama will be okay?"
I hugged her.
"Yes. The doctors are taking care of her."
"Okay."
Then my phone rang.
Kerein.
I answered.
"Hello?"
"Kuya, where are you?"
"Hospital."
There was a short silence.
"Why?"
"Jay is in labor."
"WHAT"
Then he quickly said,
"Okay, I'll come."
He ended the call.
A little later, Kerein arrived.
He walked toward us.
"Is Ate Jay okay?"
"She is inside."
"Okay."
He sat beside Jeenie.
"Are you okay?"
Jeenie nodded.
"I called the ambulance."
Kerein looked surprised.
"You did?"
Jeenie nodded proudly.
"Yeah."
"That was smart."
She smiled.
I called Kegain.
He answered.
"Hello?"
"We're at the hospital. Jay is in labor."
There was a short pause.
"Which hospital?"
I told him.
"I'll come."
A little later, he arrived.
He came straight toward us.
"How is she?"
"She's inside. The doctors said she's okay."
He nodded.

A few hours passed.
Mom, Dad, Tita, Aries, and Percy also arrived after hearing the news.
Everyone waited quietly.
Then we heard a baby's cry from inside.
I immediately looked toward the door.
A few minutes later, the doctor came out.
"Congratulations. You have a healthy baby boy."
I smiled.
"Is Jay okay?"
"She is fine."
I finally relaxed.
"And the baby?"
"A healthy boy."
I couldn't stop smiling.
Kerein smiled too.
"We have a baby!"
Kegain nodded with a small smile.
Jeenie jumped up.
"Baby brother!"
I laughed.
"Yes, baby."
Jay's POV
I was exhausted when I opened my eyes.
Keifer was sitting beside me.
"Hey," I whispered.
He immediately looked at me.
"Hey, babe."
I smiled.
"Is the baby okay?"
"He's perfect."
He showed me our little baby boy.
I smiled when I saw him.
"He's so tiny."
Keifer gently touched his hand.
"He is."
Our baby wrapped his tiny fingers around Keifer's finger.
Keifer smiled.
"He already has a strong grip."
I laughed softly.
"I love you."
He kissed my forehead.
"I love you too."
The door opened.
Jeenie came inside with Kerein and Kegain.
"Mama!"
She stopped when she saw the baby.
She walked closer.
"Is that my baby brother?"
I smiled.
"Yes."
She carefully looked at him.
"He is so small."
Kerein smiled.
"You were small too."
Jeenie shook her head.
"No. I was bigger."
Kerein laughed.
"Okay."
Jeenie looked at me.
"Can I touch him?"
"Yes, but gently."
She carefully placed her hand near his.
The baby moved his fingers.
Jeenie's eyes widened.
"He moved!"
"He knows you," I said.
She smiled.
"I am his big sister."
She leaned closer.
"Hi, baby brother."
Then she gently kissed his forehead.
Kerein smiled.
"He's cute."
Kegain stood beside him and looked at the baby.
"He is."
Then he looked at me.
"Are you comfortable?"
I nodded.
"Yes."
He adjusted my blanket before stepping back.
Everyone stayed around us for a while.
The room was filled with quiet laughter and happy conversations.
I looked at Keifer, Jeenie, Kerein, Kegain, and our little baby.
Our family had grown again.
And I couldn't wait to take our baby home.
