Jay's POV:
I started throwing up, and then I felt Keifer's hand rubbing my back.
"Babe, are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Mommy, what happened?" Jeenie asked.
"I am fine, baby," I said and washed my mouth.
I felt a little dizzy, so Keifer held me and made me sit on the bed.
He started massaging my head, and Jeenie started massaging my legs.
"No, baby, don't do that," I said to her and made her sit on my lap.
"Mumma, are you okay now? What happened to you?" she asked, cupping my face.
"I am fine, baby... I just threw up. Maybe I ate something bad last night," I said.
She nodded.
"Jay, you look so pale. Let me call the doctor," he said, but I stopped him.
"I am fine," I said.
He sighed and stood up to bring something for me to eat.
As they both left, I stood up and brushed my teeth. As I was just about to reach the bed, I felt so dizzy that everything started spinning.
Before I could fall, strong arms caught me.
I turned around and saw Kegain.
"Are you okay?" he asked and made me sit down on the bed.
Just then, Keifer entered.
"Jayy, what happened?" he asked and kept the food aside.
"I am fine. I just feel a little dizzy today," I said.
"I am calling the doctor," Kegain said and went outside.
Keifer sat beside me.
He caressed my hair and made me lie down soon I fall asleep...
Keifer's POV:
I don't know what happened to Jay. She looks so pale.
"Papa," Jeenie said.
I looked at her teary eyes.
"What happened to Mama?" she asked while crying.
I picked her up and wiped her tears.
"She is fine, baby. The doctor is coming to check her, okay? Don't worry," I said.
Then Kerein entered. Kegain told him about Jay's condition.
"Kerein, take her away. She is scared seeing Jay like this," I said and handed Jeenie to Kerein.
"Kuya, she is here," Kegain said, and the doctor entered inside.
She looked at Jay and checked her pulse. Then she told us to get out while she did some tests.
I was just walking here and there nervously.
"Please come in," the doctor said.
We all entered inside, and she had a huge smile on her face.
That told me Jay was fine.
"Congratulations," she said.
I looked at her, confused.
"Doctor, what happened to Mommy?" Jeenie asked.
"Your mom is carrying your sibling," the doctor said.
My eyes went wide.
Sibling?
"She is pregnant," the doctor said.
I stood there frozen.
Jay's POV:
I woke up when I heard loud cheering.
I opened my eyes and looked at everyone smiling and cheering.
Jeenie was dancing and jumping.
Keifer was sitting beside me, holding my hand and staring at my stomach.
"Keifer," I whispered.
He looked at me.
"Babe, you're awake," he said and kissed my cheek.
"What happened?" I asked.
Just then, Kerein entered with Kegain, holding a cake.
He kept it in front of me. It had 'Congratulations Mumma, I am coming' written on it.
I looked at everyone.
Keifer smiled through his tears and handed me some papers.
I looked at them and froze.
I am pregnant?
"Mamaaa, but why did you eat the baby?" Jeenie asked.
Everyone burst into laughter.
"I didn't eat the baby... God gifted us this baby," I said.
Her face lit up.
She placed her hand on my stomach.
"So my baby brother is God-gifted?" she asked.
"You are also God-gifted," Keifer said.
"Mama, when I was in your stomach, were you sick like this too?" Jeenie asked.
My smile faded a little.
"Yes, baby," I said softly.
She looked so happy.
But what if she found out the truth in the future?
That evening, Kuya, Tita, Mom, Dad, Aries, and Percy came to our house after hearing the good news.
"Congratulations!" they all said one by one.
Mom hugged me carefully.
"Take care of yourself now," she said with a smile.
Dad patted Keifer's shoulder.
"Take good care of my daughter," he said.
"I will, Dad," Keifer replied.
Aries handed me a small flower bouquet.
"Congratulations, Jay," she said.
"Thank you," I smiled.
Percy laughed.
"Looks like Jeenie is going to be a big sister now."
Jeenie quickly nodded.
"Yes! I am going to have a baby brother!" she said proudly.
Everyone laughed.
After spending some time together, they all went back home.
A little later, Section E also came to visit us.
"Congratulations!" they all cheered as soon as they entered.
The house was filled with laughter.
They brought snacks, fruits, and small gifts for us.
We cut the cake together, clicked many pictures, and spent the evening talking and laughing.
It was a simple but happy celebration.
Months passed...
I was now five months pregnant.
My baby bump had become clearly visible.
Keifer became even more caring than before.
Every morning, he helped me get out of bed, reminded me to take my medicines, and never let me carry anything heavy.
Whenever I felt tired, he would make me sit down and massage my feet or shoulders.
Jeenie was the most excited.
Every day she would kiss my tummy and talk to the baby.
"Baby brother, I am your big sister. Come soon, okay?" she would say happily.
Sometimes she would bring her toys and place them beside my tummy.
"These are for you," she whisper.
Her cute actions always made us smile.
As for me...
My food cravings had become very strange.
One day I wanted mango with spicy chips.
The next day I wanted ice cream with salty fries.
Poor Keifer had to go out almost every evening to buy whatever I wanted.
"Babe... are you sure people eat these things together?" he asked while looking at my plate.
I nodded seriously.
"It tastes good."
He shook his head with a small smile.
"If you say so."
Life became peaceful and happy as we waited excitedly for the newest member of our family.
One evening...
I was sitting on the sofa while eating orange slices with chocolate.
Keifer looked at my plate and sighed.
"Babe... I have officially stopped questioning your food choices."
I giggled.
"It tastes nice."
He smiled and shook his head.
Just then, Jeenie came running with her drawing book.
"Mama! Papa! Look!"
She showed us a drawing.
There were six stick figures holding hands.
"This is Papa... this is Mama...this is tito kegain...this is tito kerein.... this is me..." she pointed at each one before pointing at the tiny figure beside her.
"And this is my baby brother."
I smiled and kissed her forehead.
"It is so pretty, baby."
Keifer picked her up.
"Our little artist."
She giggled proudly.
Just then, I felt a small movement inside my tummy.
I froze.
"Keifer..." I whispered.
He immediately became serious.
"What happened? Are you okay?"
I gently placed his hand on my tummy.
"I think... the baby moved."
His eyes widened.
He stayed completely still.
A few seconds later...
Thump.
He felt a tiny kick.
A bright smile appeared on his face.
"He kicked..." he whispered.
Jeenie quickly climbed onto the sofa.
"Me too! Me too!"
Keifer carefully helped her.
She gently placed her tiny hand on my tummy.
After waiting for a few seconds...
Thump.
Jeenie gasped.
"He touched me!"
"He kicked you," I laughed.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Papa! Baby knows me!"
Keifer smiled.
"Of course. Baby already knows his big sister."
Jeenie hugged my tummy carefully.
"I love you, baby brother."
Keifer wrapped one arm around me and kissed my forehead.
"I can't wait to meet him."
I smiled as I looked at both of them.
Our little family was growing, and every day felt more special than the last.
