"You know, despite how dire our situation is, I feel weirdly calm, for some reason. Can't really explain it, I don't really get it myself, I just feel totally calm, almost eerily so," Mused Aria, as she flopped onto the bed.
"I think I know how you feel, at least a little bit. If nothing else, I figured I'd be more anxious than I am right now," I replied, as I laid down beside her.
We'd just gotten back home, it was currently around 11 PM. We aren't going to be able to sleep the way we usually do, going to bed late and then waking up late.
And as things start ramping up, we'll likely have less and less time to rest. We just don't have the luxury of taking it easy.
"Hey...do you think we can really win this? I mean, the odds are stacked pretty heavily against us. Actually, I'd say that's a bit of an understatement, all things considered," Aria sighed wistfully.
