A deafening roar of pain rang out as I gouged out the left side of the Wyvern's head, including its eye, blood erupting out and splattering across the ground.
I pulled my blade out of the roof of its mouth and backed away as I began to swing its wing in towards me, the claws at the end of the wing grazing my chest, cutting through the fabric and nicking my skin, drawing out a few trickles of blood.
It's still alive, even though I got a bit of its brain with Ravage. Will I become that durable once my HP gets higher? I suppose I'll find out eventually.
Hm, then again, I'd rather not find out, losing a chunk of my head is bound to be painful.
Now, then, to end this...
"
As the Wyvern froze in place, trembling as it tried to resist the effect, I approached it and used Ravage to chomp through the base of its legs, the Monster falling back and hitting the ground with a crash, blood pouring out as its severed legs fell over and collapsed with thuds.
I hopped onto its torso, walking up to its chest before sending Ravage zipping towards the base of its left wing, biting through and severing it. As blood gushed out, I stepped back a bit, knelt down and placed my hand on the middle of its torso.
I don't have any knowledge about the anatomy of Monsters, and my biology knowledge in general is lacking since I never finished high school...so I can't be sure if its solar plexus is located in this spot, or if it even has one at all.
But I suppose it doesn't really matter. So long as this is effective, the details are irrelevant. Let's find out...
"
The Wyvern's body tensed and convulsed, spasming all over as I hit it with multiple consecutive Mana Pulses, blood pouring out of its mouth as tears of blood streamed out of its right eye...hm, it's lost a significant amount of blood, but it's still alive, conscious too.
Though, it appears to be fading, at least.
This should be enough, it's highly unlikely that it'll be able to strike back in its current state, even if and when it breaks free of the effect of Command.
I then split Ravage back to Devour and Drain, deactivating Devour before phasing Drain through the Monster's chest, steadily consuming its Mana.
Its breathing is starting to slow, and it seems to be losing consciousness. Perfect, I'll be able to absorb all of its Mana before it dies, a few more seconds and I should be done.
There we go. Next, its Core.
I sliced its chest open, hacking through its flesh and exposing its Core, before reaching in and ripping it out. And finally, to use Devour on its remains.
Hm, perhaps I should leave its skin? If the Caimanoids' and Dragonoids' skin are valuable materials in crafting armor, then a Wyvern is likely even more valuable.
It would be foolish to sour any connections I have, however...this Dungeon has netted me some rather substandard returns, but fully consuming a Critical Level Monster should somewhat make up for that.
Yes, I can simply say that it slipped my mind and I did it out of habit. It's settled, I'll consume its entire body. I should be quick about it, I have less than a minute left before Enrage wears off.
And it's likely that I'll choose not to consume its skin once I return to my normal state, so I should get it done while I'm not clouded by emotion.
I then proceeded to eat up the Wyvern's corpse with Devour, heading towards its severed legs and wings once I was done with its body.
That should do it. And right on time, just ten seconds left to go. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One.

Damn it...Enrage really brings out my selfish side, huh?
I mean, it made logical sense, sure, but still. It really is unsettling, the difference I feel when I revert back and my emotions return. It's honestly kinda scary.
Yeah, I felt that. I got this sense of disdain towards my normal self, like I was looking down on myself for letting emotions affect my decisions.
Yeah, true.
And, honestly, it's not totally impossible that I would've made the same decision in my normal state. I was feeling pretty frustrated over how little I was gaining in this Dungeon through Devour.
And what's done is done, so no point in dwelling on it. So, how many physical stat points did I get from the Wyvern? I think I had twenty-two total after the forty-ninth floor, right?
Woah, nine?! Seriously?!
Awesome, it's been ages since I've gained multiple points from a single Monster!
Even with High Level Monsters, I have to consume at least three to get just one point, looks like Criticals are quite literally on another level.
Let's divide up the points real quick and then head back to the others. There we go, looking good:
HP: 413 -> 418
MP: 528 -> 552
Strength: 420 -> 425
Agility: 550 -> 560
Vitality: 406 -> 412
Perception: 546 -> 556
Power Level: 477,200 -> 487,200
Potential: 477,200 -> 487,200
I'm steadily getting closer and closer to that 500,000 Power Level mark that signifies the threshold into Ace Territory, not too shabby.
I still have a long way to go, though, I'll need to cross a Power Level of one million to step past the rarely-achieved X-Ace threshold.
Oh, but I'll get there, count on it...and then, I'll surpass it.
Also, Ai...maybe we can take off Potential from my stats display, or just combine it into one field with Power Level, same difference.
Since they're both always going to be the same number, it's kinda pointless to have both in my display.
Cool, thanks. Alright, let's head back now, shall we?
