Chapter 13 - The God That Fell

Chapter 13: The God That Fell

The sky above Obsidian Reach tore open.

A rift of pure light spread across the heavens, brighter than a thousand suns. The people of the Shadow Dominion fell to their knees, blinded by divine radiance. From the rift descended a colossal figure cloaked in golden flame.

The god Sol'Ryn, Warden of Light, had come to end Kael Veyra's reign.

Kael stood at the top of his black citadel, the storm swirling behind him, his armor alive with darkness. The shadow around him pulsed like a heartbeat. The very air trembled beneath the clash of divine will and mortal power.

Sol'Ryn's voice thundered across the land.

"Kael Veyra! You have broken the order of creation. Kneel, and your soul will be judged."

Kael smiled. "Order? I destroyed it because it was rotten. Your 'judgment' means nothing to me."

The god raised his hand, and a spear of light materialized, descending like a falling star. Kael lifted his arm, and the shadow rose with him forming a colossal barrier of darkness that split the heavens.

The collision shook the world. Entire mountains cracked. Oceans rippled. The light burned through Kael's defenses, yet the shadow adapted, consuming fragments of divine energy and converting it into raw strength.

Kael's shadow spread upward, reaching the god's height, wrapping around the divine spear and snapping it in two. The impossible happened: a god's weapon shattered.

Sol'Ryn roared in fury, unleashing a storm of celestial fire. Kael's armor melted, his blood boiled but he did not fall. The shadow surged from within him, growing stronger the closer he came to death.

He raised his hand again. The shadow formed a blade unlike any mortal weapon black lightning flickering along its edge, pulsing with his soul's rhythm.

"This world no longer belongs to gods," Kael said. "It belongs to those strong enough to shape it."

He leaped, striking upward, his blade of shadow colliding with the god's heart. The explosion of light and dark consumed the sky. When the radiance faded, the rift was gone, and Sol'Ryn's burning body fell, dissolving into ash.

Kael landed upon the citadel, the god's divine essence pouring into him. The shadows roared in triumph, and across the world, every Monolith of the Abyss pulsed with new power.

The people of the Shadow Dominion looked up and saw their ruler standing against the fading light, his eyes glowing brighter than ever.

He had slain a god.

And now, no power in the heavens could deny him.
