Chapter 111 - Chapter 111 — “We Said FAKE Punch, Not REAL Punch!”

Somewhere deep down, Director Mason believed the universe was fair.

He believed hard work paid off.

He believed teamwork made movies shine.

He believed actors followed instructions.

But today, he learned the cruel truth:

Aria Lane does not follow the laws of cinema.

She follows the laws of physics.

And unfortunately, she is very, very good at physics.

The Scene: A Simple Fake Punch

Stunt actors practiced for hours.

They trained for safety.

Precision.

Illusion.

Fake punches are an art form.

Aria, however, had a different understanding:

"A punch is a punch."

Mason begged her before filming began.

"ARIA. LISTEN CAREFULLY.

YOU WILL PUNCH THE AIR, NOT THE PERSON.

NOT. THE. PERSON."

Aria nodded.

"I understand."

Julian smiled quietly.

Daniel whispered:

"She doesn't understand."

Take One — Disaster Strikes Immediately

They set up the scene.

Julian stands behind Aria.

A hired stunt actor, Sam, steps forward playing the villain.

Aria lifts her fist.

Rick the cameraman whispers:

"Please don't kill him…"

"Action!"

Aria throws the punch—

A clean, perfect punch.

A punch so fast the boom mic operator ducked instinctively.

A punch that SHOULD have passed harmlessly in front of Sam's face.

Except…

Sam, bless his soul, leaned half an inch forward at the wrong moment.

Just half an inch.

Half.

A fatal amount.

WHACK.

Aria's fist clipped his jaw with terrifying precision.

Sam spun like a malfunctioning helicopter and hit the ground.

The entire set screamed.

Julian blinked.

Daniel shrieked:

"WE SAID FAKE PUNCH, NOT REAL PUNCH!!"

Mason collapsed into his folding chair.

Aria's Immediate Reaction

Aria crouched beside Sam.

"Are you hurt?"

Sam, dazed, lifted a trembling thumbs-up.

"I… I think I saw God…

She looks like you…"

Mason screamed into the heavens:

"STOP COMPLIMENTING HER WHEN YOU'RE INJURED!"

The Stunt Team Reacts Like Sports Fans

Marcus, stunt coordinator:

"That was clean technique!

Devastating!

Flawless!"

Another stunt guy:

"She pulled her strength, too. Imagine if she DIDN'T."

A third:

"She should join the stunt team."

Mason hurled a clipboard at them.

"STOP RECRUITING HER! SHE IS NOT YOUR FINAL BOSS!"

Take Two: Controlled Punch Attempt

"Aria," Mason said carefully, "sweetheart… darling… national threat…

Please punch slower."

Aria nodded.

"I will."

Julian murmured:

"She will try."

Daniel muttered:

"She will fail."

"Action!"

Aria threw the punch slower.

Much slower.

Too slow.

Sam blinked.

"What is this? Tai Chi?"

Aria paused.

"Oh."

Then corrected her speed—

Immediately going from 2% power to 98% power.

WHOOSH

Her fist cut the air so sharply every nearby person ducked on instinct.

Sam screamed:

"WHY DID IT SPEED UP?!"

Aria blinked.

"I adjusted."

"NO ADJUSTING!!" Mason howled.

Take Three — Julian Makes It Worse (Again)

Mason begged:

"Julian. Please help her. Show her a fake punch."

Julian nodded, stepped forward, and demonstrated a perfect slow-motion fake strike.

Aria watched closely.

Julian smiled.

"See? Slow. Controlled. Safe."

Aria nodded.

"I understand now."

Relief washed across the crew.

Julian stepped back.

"Action!"

Aria executed the punch exactly as Julian taught her—

But Julian had muscles.

He had grace.

He had natural power.

Aria had all of that multiplied by ten.

So her "slow punch" still created enough wind pressure to blow Sam's hair backward.

Sam screamed:

"WHY IS THERE WIND?! WHY IS THERE WIND IN A PUNCH SCENE?!"

Julian hid a laugh in his sleeve.

Daniel cried.

Mason threw his hat.

Sam's Final Collapse

Sam wobbled, holding onto a light stand.

"I can't… I can't do this…

She's too powerful…

I'm retiring… Tell my wife I love her…"

Mason grabbed him by the collar.

"NO RETIRING! YOU SIGNED A CONTRACT!"

Aria's Apology

Aria walked up to Sam.

"I am sorry. I will not punch again."

Sam nodded weakly.

"Thank you…"

Then Aria added:

"Unless necessary."

Sam fainted.

Mason's Breakdown (Part 20 of This Film Shoot)

He pointed at Aria with shaking hands.

"NO MORE PUNCHING.

NO MORE FIGHTING.

NO MORE PROTECTIVE INSTINCTS.

NO MORE DOOR-RIPPING, TABLE-FLIPPING, SECURITY-OUTRUNNING BEHAVIOR!"

Aria blinked.

"What should I do?"

Mason shouted:

"BE FRAGILE! JUST—BE—FRAGILE!!"

Julian smiled at her softly.

"You're doing great."

Mason screamed:

"STOP ENCOURAGING HER, JULIAN!"

Final Line

Aria thought for a moment.

"…I will practice punching less."

Daniel yelled:

"THAT'S NOT WHAT WE ASKED!!"
